The room was very nice. The AC was working well and the bathroom was clean. We had delicious breakfast every day with coffee (with real milk!), fruits and a main of choice. The owner and the staff (and Koa, the dog) were very friendly and nice to be around. The hotel is not directly on the beach, but maybe 50-100m from the ocean (1 minute away).

Great clean, bright, comfy room for a fair price, off the beach a bit but only a short walk. Hot water pressure pretty good. Kind and helpful staff.

A real crush for Shamba lodge. If you are looking for a really local and charming place, this is the one for you. The staff is just amazing, smiling, helping whenever they can. The room is simple and comfortable, the wifi is good and the breakfast is prepared with love. Everything is just like the island, beautiful and welcoming. Those who are looking for luxury should skip it ;) Thank you Marta and all your team for the wonderful moments we had.

I liked everything starting from the location of the house its near to everything or any activities u want to do, madame marta was so kind and helpful she helped me in everything, the room was so clean, breakfast was so delicious and healthy and especially the spanish breakfast, i recommend shamba lodge for anyone who likes nature and simple beautiful things.

Everyone is so friendly. Amaia, raffael and all the staff are very helpful and treat you like family. We will go back for sure. Location is superb and great value for money.

Our stay at Shamba Lodge was unforgettable. The host was amazing and very helpful with everything. In terms of the standard of living in Zanzibar, the Shamba Lodge estate is superior. We also liked that the property is close to the beach and away from the crowds.

Shamba lodge is a peaceful, quite and very c friendly place. The rooms are well-maintained and are cleaned every day. The breakfasts are included in the price and are the best in Zanzibar! The accommodation has wonderful location. It is close to the ocean (just 2-3 min of walk) and is the next door to Baraka Aquarium where you can swim with turtles. There’s also a zoo very closely. The lodge is far from noisy and crowded places so you can feel yourself secluded and secure. The lodge will suit both families and couples or lonely travelers. The administration and the staff are really kids-friendly. The special word should be said about the owners. Marta is a very polite, generous and kind person. She is very attentive to all her clients. You will feel safe and secure, for sure! Asante to this wonderful place and people!

What a pleasant surprise! ❤️ Shamba Lodge, the perfect place for our stay on the northern coast of Zanzibar. Although far from the crowded area, the place is close to beach and a small bar & restaurant, Mnarani. Rooms: - big, simply decorated and very clean - the beds have good matresses and mosquito nets - they also have AC & fans Bathrooms: - very large bathrooms - they have HOT water and this is something for Zanzibar Breakfast ❤️: - for me it was perfect because they offered us delicious fruits (mango, papaya, watermelon, pinnaple, banana) and some eggs / pancakes - it is simple, but delicious - they also offered us instant coffee, green tea and black tea The host ❤️❤️❤️ Most people said Marta is a great host and now I understand what they mean. Marta helped us with everything we needed, including a special surprise for one of our friends who celebrated her birthday on the island. We enjoyed spending time with her and listening to her stories. Go to Shamba Lodge. The place is much better than you can see on Booking. It truly exceeded our expectations and made our stay in that part of Zanzibar a special one.

Location is a bit further from part of beach where we wanted to swim so we walked. For us it was fine as we like to walk, but for somebody it could be far. We did not managed to control air condition. It cooled too much. Think controlling unit was NOT working properly.
