It is an excellent location away from the crowds, without the hordes and hordes of tourists. As the beachfront was private, there were at maximum, 6-8 perons using the deck chairs, beach beds when we were there. The views from the beach is A+++. The rooms are comfortable and has probably most of what you need for the stay (at least for us), it is very family friendly (the bungalow we booked was the SEA VIEW Bungalows) and there were free kayaks and toys for kids/babies. They provide a lot of beach towels, and you can grab them from their front desk. The staff there are very very helpful, especially Fon and Sunny. Everyone from the staff, the manager and even the owners (Huey Princess & Denis) are so so so friendly. They make it feel like a home away from home! Before you arrive to thailand or the resort, they will start communicating with you through whatsapp. That ensures a great check-in experience and minimizes any trouble or hassle. They helped me plan a wonderful 30th birthday for my fiancee. Please order the takeout food from the menu they have there! Eating food while lounging on the deck chairs, or in front of the rooms besides the pool, is a wonderful wonderful experience! They've gotten the best restaurants from around their area, and the food usually takes 30mins to arrive. If you do go out, the Panwa Cafe is a great choice, as they will pick you up and send you back from the cafe. Just let the front desk/reception know you wanna go there and they will ring up the Panwa Cafe for you. If you have the time to stroll and walk, Thai Sawasdee was another food place that we visited that was beside the sea. It was also great walking along the boardwalk with the sea-view after dinner.

Beware of swimming in the sea, especially at low-tide. There are rocks/corals in the sea floor, these areas are unmarked and not-visible through the water. My fiancee and I were cut and had abrasions on our legs from wondering into the wrong areas. Perhaps, that area should be marked with flags or something like that. Maybe the reception should brief guests during check-in to avoid those areas. We did not know and it did spoil a bit of the holiday!

feel really lucky to have stayed here. Beautiful, quiet and maintained beautifully. Pool was cleaned at 7am on the dot every day. Staff were all so helpful - we had a long stay, and took day trips everywhere. when we’d get stuck (in the rain, lost) they were unbelievably responsive, always helping out with reservations. the cove is steps away, and seems open 8am-late, tolerant of long leisurely scrabble games I’ve happy hour that run into dinner. with my 78 yo mom, we took cabs everywhere, but if you are able, you can walk 1k up the hill and pretty much anything you need is there. close to old Phuket we were 25 minutes away from fantastic restaurants such as the Blue Elephant, Raya, about same amount of time away from dive boats in chalong. easy. great trip.

not really a dislike, but if you are trying to catch a dive boat probably best to get a coffee and a croissant at Bottoms Up at the end of the driveway which opens at 7:15am.

Our stay at this beautiful hotel was pure bliss from start to finish. Nestled right on the beach, it offered the perfect combination of serene surroundings and breathtaking beauty. The lush greenery everywhere was so refreshing, and you could feel the tranquility in every corner of the resort. One of our favorite things was the incredible array of sun beds and hammocks scattered along the beach and shaded under trees. Each one was designed for ultimate relaxation, making it easy to lose track of time while simply soaking in the peace. The staff made sure everything was perfect, keeping the grounds immaculate and attending to every detail with such warmth and care. We loved our room, too! It was filled with thoughtful touches like daily-refilled water bottles (sustainability win!), cozy bathrobes, a handy beach bag, and even little hedgehogs to brush off sand after a day on the beach. Plus, the fresh coffee provided in-room was fantastic—no instant here! This hotel is a true paradise, where everything just aligns to create an unforgettable experience. We left feeling recharged, relaxed, and already dreaming of our next visit. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a heavenly escape by the sea!

The only quibble is the fact that the hotel has no restaurant. It is really easy to use the Cove restaurant which is directly next to the Moorings, BUT although the Cove has amazing tables right on the beach, the food is very expensive, meaning our breakfasts at the Cove were the most expensive of any meals we had in our whole stay in Thailand. We didn't eat there for lunch or dinner due to the expense and the fact that it was a non-Thai menu. The hotel sorted out scooter hire, which meant we could go the alternative restaurants.

A very comfortable and quiet place to relax. the private beach is clean and water clear. many outdoor furniture. room is spacious and tastefully done. good to have a car as there r many good dining options within short drive. if no car, there are some options within short walk, but can also order delivery or walk across the rocks to other beach. beach is a bay, so not much wave or high wind.

we paid a premium for the beach front room. with that price, will be nice to have breakfast or some fruits thrown in.

Loved the location of the resort and the direct access to the beach. The staff were amazing, especially Joy who was very informative and helpful.

I would've liked if the waterfall shower pressure was better, as it wasn't working well. Also, would've preferred availability of complimentary slippers, and other vanity items.

This was a great stay. The resort is spectacular, really on the beach. If you are looking for calm and quiet, in a serene environment, by the water, look no further: this is it! Clean, comfortable, large rooms, simple yet elegant and functional! Very, very friendly staff, ready to help with anything! They serve no food but several options around, including one at 10 m away. They also have arrangements with several local restaurants, which provide free transportation two ways. We tasted almost all, great selection of food. All in a all a little corner of paradise, I wish we could have stayed more than 5 days. A very warm and heartfelt thank you for everything!

Beautiful rooms, private beach. The staff are exceptional. This is the best customer service I have ever received from a hotel. Day by day they helped me to organize meals and tours and all by texting me on whatsapp. I’m very grateful to the woman who was working reception I hope the owner sees this and gives her a raise she is wonderful. I have already recommend friends to come back here based on my interactions with her alone.

Not a problem with the property. Phuket is very big so please plan what you want to do before you book. This property is not really walkable to anything so if that is a problem for you consider elsewhere like patong

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, allowing me to check-in earlier than planned and at very short notice. Mooring is away and secluded, which meant I felt instantly relaxed the moment I arrived. The rooms are a great size, very clean and beds were very comfortable.

More of an FYI than a dislike: It is a great place to relax and unwind for a short stay but not many options in terms of restaurants or shops close by, which meant you can only go to the restaurant next door for breakfast, lunch, dinner and any drinks you wish to purchase throughout the day. However, I was impressed with the options but I was only there for 24 hours.

Everything about our stay was exceptional! Trust me, if you’re looking for a relaxing getaway, you’re going to love this place. It’s a little piece of paradise. We are so happy we booked the beachfront room for our stay, as the beach was always right outside our doorstep. Service was exceptional, always doing their best to ensure we had a quality experience. Joy and Maiekla were especially good to us, going out of their way multiple times to take care of us. Even though there were other guests at the resort, it never felt crowded. In fact, it always felt like we were in our own little bubbles, never really needing to interact at all. It made it feel as if the resort was completely our own. The pool, the reclining pool chairs, the hammocks…everything was available anytime we wanted. For the first time in a long time, my girlfriend and I felt completely relaxed and at ease. Not a care in the world. And we have The Mooring Resort to thank for that. Couldn’t have asked for more.

I would say “they have no restaurant,” but that doesn’t even matter. The Cove restaurant, part of a nearby resort, was literally a 20 second walk from our room, closer than many other hotels could claim. We had absolutely no problems with food during our stay.
