Been there for 6 nights with a friend. Great location, very short walking distances to the Metro/Bus system. Room was clean and tidy, service came every day. Breakfast (we chose this as an extra) was fantastic! Amazing view in the breakfast room and great variety and taste of the food. Very helpful and nice staff (including service personal and especially the technician!!!), that helped us out multiple times. Can really recommend this hotel :)

It's only minor things that we encountered during the trip, yet definitely nothing deal-breaking. The rubber coating of our room's window was a bit old, thus not sealing it completely. As our room was relatively close to a very busy street, it was a bit louder, yet the noise was very acceptable (even in the night). Unfortunately, the air conditioning switched off, when leaving the room and removing the keycard from it's mount. Hence the room was often quite hot when we came back in the evening and we had to let it run for some hours to cool down the room. Having an option to keep the A.C. switched on during the day would have been great.

The location is perfect and near the Metro station. Near to galata port and galata Tour. The breakfast was good and the roof top view is wonderful

- elevators are too small and suits only 1 persons with bags or 2 persons ( maximum 225 Kg ). - the roof top closed on 02:00 am, while they can let the Hotel guests to stay and enjoy the view ( i mean they can just close the restaurant and let the people stay there ) .

We took the 9th floor room with panoramic windows facing two sides, and the views were absolutely exceptional. They were exactly as shown on the pictures in Booking. Golden horn was at a glance and especially in the evenings, with all the lights of the city, the panorama was simply remarcable. It was like traweling just sitting by the window. The room itself was comfortable and spaceous. Cleaning was perfect and so was all the personal, receptionists, and the meal in the restaurant for brekfast and dinner. Location of the hotel is basically by the seaside and approximately 10 minutes walking by the Galata tower.

Honestly we can't think of something I didn't like.

The hotel is located between a metro station and an electrical bus station with easy, fast and cheap access to the main historical places of Istanbul. We had a standard room with the river view so that we could enjoy the river view each morning and evening with beautiful sound and flight of the birds. Personnel of the hotel are kind, attentive and polite. I do recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in a 4-star hotel in Istanbul.

Ther is no swimming pool, sauna or gym. Perhaps it cannot be expected from a 4-start hotel.

First and foremost VERY friendly and extremely helpful front desk staff. We arrived with all the kids and tones of luggage well before the check in time. The gentleman in charge went above and beyond figuring out how we can get our room earlier; we got upgrade and our room within 15 minutes after our arrival and hours before official check-in time. The lady on the front desk helped us find the laundry service - she called several businesses close to the hotel to make sure they are open, how much they would charge and how quickly will they be able to return our clothes (we stayed only 3 days right around New Year’s Eve). The same lady helped us figure out public transport including Bosporus boat ride. Cleaning ladies were also very friendly - kids got a cookie box from one of the women. We used hotel transfer from and back to the airport - very convenient, well worth it. Breakfast was decent. Location is amazing - we were able to walk to most of the well known attractions (Galata Tower, Mosques etc - you can also use metro or trolly, stations are very close to the hotel, but we preferred walking; Bosporus public transportation boats are also 5 minutes walk from the hotel). Overall - the hotel is not new, but clean, with amazing value for money and most friendly staff. Definitely recommend.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, Gulcan was super amazing. My room had a stunning view of the phosphorus. Unfortunately, the windows don't fully open. The bed was comfortable. They have amazing rooftop restaurant with breathtaking 360 views. The dinner was very delicious. The location is good. However, expect a 7-minute walk to the bridge and Karakoy.

The breakfast was below average, but the view offset that. Small bathrooms and tiny showers. Laundry service is too expensive. Just go down the road and you will find 10x cheaper.

Obviously, I would cherish for the location of the hotel and the view I have got from the window. These made my journey pleasant and soothing. Moreover, the staff and officials were very cooperative and amiable. I could find shopping places, historic places and others by talking with staff.

Only thing will bother anyone might lie in the size of the room. If you are travelers with big group, this hotel is not for you. Room sizes are not big. Large family cannot stay-in properly. But best for solo, small family and business travelers.

this is our second time we stay at golden city hotel. always a lovely stay. the staff speaks perfect English!! they upgraded our room without us even asking. Manager ALI is so lovely, friendly and helpful at any time. Terrace view and breakfast are phenomenal truly!!!! also what we like about this hotel is the location, its less than 5 min walk from a tram station and metro station and there is also a bus station next to the hotel gate!!! strong internet in rooms!! perfect

It was our first visit to Istanbul, I loved the hotel, its facilities and its proximity to the means of transport, metro, train and port. The breakfast was very good. The super friendly staff, Mr. Ali, Mr. Onur and Mrs. Gulsana, from the reception helped us at all times. Thank you very much Gulsana because thanks to you we did not miss the flight back to our country. Very grateful to all of you, you made our stay in Istanbul excellent. If we return to Istanbul in the future, we would definitely choose this hotel again. Recommended 100%

Great location close to Galata bridge, comfortable rooms, friendly, proactive and communicative staff - thanks in particular to Ali. And when, due to an unprecedented storm, the wind was making an extremely loud and unusual noise outside my window, a change of room was immediately arranged with no questions asked. Thanks!

Only the strange loud buzzing noise caused, as described, by the unprecedented storm which raged for 24 hours! Outside the hotel's control, but they were immediately helpful.
