Two great things with our room - the lighting over the bed was bright so I could read easily - it's usually dingy. And there was not just a shower but a bath with plenty of really hot water - fantastic after a 14 mile walk! Location was excellent for the walks we were doing. Easy parking. It was very quiet- tho we were not there at a weekend.

Range of breakfast options was a bit constrained- I couldn't have cereal with my scrambled egg on toast, and the continental breakfast was either toast or pastry ,not both as I am used to! Breakfast starts at 8, I would prefer 7 30 - but I guess staff don't want to..

Great location and ticked all the boxes. Good food and drink at a reasonable price. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times even at the end of the day. Ample car parking space and free. It is close to the A40 which is busy but it does not effect your sleep. Well recommended and we will definitely be there again to stay.

It allows dogs into the building so you will hear barking from time to time. Only 5 rooms so very close together and the doors banging when people are returning to their rooms at night.

WARM Comfortable clean room All staff were pleasant friendly and helpful Breakfast was good piping hot and freshly cooked. Dining at Lamb and Flag was good value. All served piping hot . Good portions. Service good staff very pleasant.

Steep stairs and right hand hand rail did not go up to end of flight of stairs. The steps were not wide enough . The same applied to the couple of steps on the landing to the rooms. Not wide enough.

We stayed in a twin bedroom which was spotlessly clean and tidy. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and was very peaceful at night. The shower is great and there was a bath too. The location is fabulous, with beautiful views, and is great for exploring Abergavenny. The staff were lovely and very welcoming. We had a very nice meal in the restaurant. Free carparking is great. We loved our stay. Very good price too.

Was a long wait in the restaurant for food, but it was a bank holiday, so we did expect there to be a slight delay. We loved everything else.

The property was clean comfortable and in a lovely location. The room was very clean and tea and coffee was available in the room. The bathroom was clean and towels were fresh and clean. The bed was comfy and food served in the Inn was great value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful

The radiator in the room was not working. The staff were very helpful but could not sort the radiator and the room was cold. We were eventually given a heater which was quite sufficient but it did take a little longer than was necessary to sort out.

What a lovely place to stay. The staff were friendly, efficient, and very welcoming. Lewis, Chey, and Kat were excellent. We had an evening meal and breakfast, and both were lovely. The room was very clean, modern, and comfortable.

Our only observation was that the pillows were hard. There weren't any negatives about the lamb and flag, infact we asked if we could stay an extra night, but they were fully booked.

Food was excellent, providing you like chips with everything! Could do with more alternatives to chips such as potato in various forms such as mashed (besides sausage & mash!) or boiled, new etc. Otherwise food was excellent overall. Service was excellent, as were the staff very friendly and helpful. Good car parking but could do with a few more disabled spaces.

Noise levels in room 4. Duct fans on the roof next to our room were very noisy and going on and off all night. Was like a rumbling in your head and was very disturbing at times. Manager did offer to change our room but we declined because of the inconvenience and that we only had another two nights to go. Otherwise, a very nice room.

Great location! Lovely setting with a Nice restaurant and bar. Staff were pleasant. Better than staying in town and easy for parking. Rooms were clean. Twin beds fine for one night but could have been more comfortable if staying longer. Good for families as had a lovely outside garden area. Quite an idyllic spot surrounded by nature. Good choice of food and not expensive. Great if you want to be near town and exploring the local area.

Twin beds could have been more comfortable. But good for the price and totally fine just for one night. We booked the last room so we didn’t have a choice of others. The little balcony and view made up for this small grievance. Everything else was fine on a wet cold Sunday evening and more than compensated. Staff were warm and welcoming.

Clean , friendly staff, staff that were available very helpful

Seems like there was a shortage of staff due to maybe been taken over by marstons brewery and not enough staff to serve breakfast one morning and food was also taken off for a short period on the first day. Staff were overheard to say the manager and assistant managers had walked out. Also had no details of who to contact after the pub closed as we were told no member was on site after closing until 8am the next day. Extremely thin walls in bedrooms making one night impossible to sleep.

We arrived too early for the official check in time, but the cleaner finished our room just as we arrived and the manager let us into our room a couple of hours early. This was so helpful as we were just staying the night for a wedding and needed somewhere to get changed quickly and drop our bags off as we weren't returning until after the pub was closed. Really friendly staff.

Quite pricey for the size of the room.
