The accommodation and breakfast were very good value. The staff were lovely and helpful. The views from our table at breakfast and dinner were lovely and I enjoyed having a Juliette balcony in our room.

It is such a shame the rooms don't take advantage of the wonderful views. We visited on a very hot few days and our room was stifling, we had to sleep with the door to the Juliette balcony open all night! Maybe there's not enough insulation in the roof??

We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 nights spent at the Lamb and Flag. The room was fairly small but was clean and comfortable and the bed was also very good. Parking was not a problem. The location is a good base for walkers as it is in the foothills of the Sugar Loaf mountain. The food at breakfast was good and we were given a range of options at different prices depending on how much we wanted to eat. We also ate there for 4 evenings and the food was very tasty and good value for money. Staff were always friendly and helpful, and the manager runs the pub exceptionally well. For the price we paid we thought it was excellent value for money.

The walls are very thin, we did have noisy neighbours who watched TV loudly past midnight affecting our sleep. Obviously this is not the hotel's fault.

A really nice pub with rooms above. Plenty of parking at the front of the building. There seem to be 5 rooms, each en-suite and very recently decorated. Our room had a large walk-in shower. Tea and coffee in all rooms. The rooms are named after local landmarks. We had breakfast in the pub each day - the room price doesn't include breakfast if you book through booking.com. A very nice menu starting with the basic continental breakfast which included cereals, croissants, fruit, toast and tea/coffee. You can then upgrade for no more than a couple of pounds to get a breakfast sandwich, a classic cooked breakfast or an ultimate breakfast with big portions of everything! The classic was more than adequate.

Our room had a small double bed - I don't know whether all rooms have the same or not. Would have preferred a standard double or a king-size.

Great location and exactly what you expect when staying in a pub. The bedroom was a good size, very clean and excellent bath and shower. The dinner was exceedingly good value for money, the only let down was a reduced menu due to "supply chain problems". We still found something we both wanted. Breakfast 10 out of 10. Would definitely stay here again.

Meet and greet at the bar, had to wait while people were being served drinks before being acknowledged and then they had to go and get somebody else to check us in, seems the norm when you stay in pubs with rooms but could be better.

Quiet room with radiator one could adjust. Good lighting and adequate power points. Access direct from outside or via bar - used both as wet and windy. Lovely restaurant bar with reasonably priced food and drink plus plenty of choice. Plenty of parking outside.

WiFi didn't work either in restaurant or room Access by stairs only which could be a problem for some

Large safe car park, size and cleanliness of room.

Reserved room 5 last September after a previous stay but no note on file and given Room 1 instead. No breakfast facilities due to a leak in the kitchen. Alternatively attempted to reserve a table at 11:30 and booking amended to 12:00 which was too late before the wedding we were attending.

Located in a beautiful surroundings. The room is not spacious but enough for two people. The staff (and owner?) we’re very kind. We could enjoy our breakfast at outside terrace.

It was difficult to find the Inn by using the address. Recommend to use “Lamb & Flag in Abergavenny” I/o address once you reached Avergavenny.

Helpfulness of all staff was very welcome. Building was well maintained and a pleasure to stay at. My room was very clean and really comfortable. Shower had good pressure and all other facilities in my room worked without fault. Breakfast was delicious and the morning staff were again so polite and friendly. Highly recommended and I will return again.

I could not find a thing in honesty.

From start to finish everything was perfect. The staff were very friendly and the evening meal was excellent. The room was comfortable and clean and the breakfast was the best cooked breakfast I have had in a long time. I was apprehensive about our stay, because we would normally pay more, to hopefully ensure good quality, but the Lamb and Flag came up trumps and I would thoroughly recommend both the food and the accommodation. The room was not large, but was comfortable and clean with hot drink making facilities and good en-suite.

Them being fully booked for our return through Abergavenny.!
