The house is very newly built to a very high standard of finish hence the need to take your outside shoes off before going upstairs. It is quite isolated and the approach is through very narrow lanes. However it is all worth it all because the countryside and views are spectacular. Sarah and Paul were very lovely people with a young family. Breakfast was a splendid array of choices and you sit down at a large table with the other guests. We only ever did this before in South Africa, and it is so much more friendly than sitting at individual tables with your back to everyone. It would have been nice to stay longer but we were only there one night to visit relatives nearby.

Nothing it was all good

The property and surrounding area is lush and so well-maintained. I felt I was in a storybook page out of an English novel. Hosts Sarah and Paul, and Sarah's father were so warm and hospitable. Paul helped us plan a detailed itinerary and Sarah answered every query promptly. Bed was was comfy, and the loft room was cozy and perfect for me and my daughter. Breakfast was fresh, hot, and delicious. Paul also heated our takeaway dinner for us and served it to us in their home crockery.

Bathroom is very compact. Basin is tiny! Could do with more hooks around the room. And a large looking mirror. Maybe if there is not enough space in the room, you could put it outside the room door on the side wall opposite the staircase?

Location was ideal for us it is rural and quiet with excellent views and great walks and bike rides straight from the B&B. The hosts are very attentive and friendly and helpful. The room was airy and light and warm and has plenty of space for clothing and bags. Cooked breakfast was perfect and made with really good quality ingredients.

Some of the access roads to the B&B are very narrow and scary. We had an attic room with sloping ceilings which made the bathroom very compact and awkward.

The bed was the stand-out - so so comfortable, best night's sleep in years! The views were incredible (even better than the usual incredible views for Wales), the hosts were lovely, the breakfast was great and they accomodate well for dietary requirements eg. veggies/vegans. Lastly, the area has such a nice 'remote' feel, but is only 15 mins away from Crickhowell and Abergavenny (by car) so is very connected - you go for long walks but still go out for a nice dinner etc.

We were terrified of getting anything on the beautiful white carpet - Gorgeous, but not for the clumsy!

Sarah was brilliant in advising us beforehand on our stay - choosing the best room, detailed instructions on how to get there, where to eat on a Sunday evening, and keeping us up to date on road conditions. Sarah and Colin were great hosts and gave us a warm welcome, patiently answering all our questions, and providing a great breakfast with local produce. The views from our room (superior suite) and bathroom were spectacular - as was the view from the terrace. Everything was immaculate.

We liked everything

This property is exceptional, an oasis of calm and tranquility set in a beautiful location in the Brecon Beacons with incredible scenery - the views are spectacular. The hosts are so accommodating, helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I stayed in one of the executive double rooms, which was very comfortable with all the usual tea, coffee, tv facilities and the cooked breakfast was amazing, made with local produce. This is by far one of the best B+B’s I have stayed in and I would have no hesitation in booking again. Thank you for an enjoyable stay!

The young family running the Celyn were fantastic hosts, so friendly and welcoming. We felt like friends staying with them. It's so dark and quiet we slept very well.

It may just be the prices in the Beacons but for the size of the room (in the bathroom you're basically leaning your head against the wall when using the toilet) and the room itself felt a little grubby (old carpets) it was pricey compared to similar stays we've had like this this year.

We stayed at the Celyn just for 1 night to attend a wedding. We received a lovely warm welcome in a stunning place with the most amazing view that was helped by glorious sunshine. Sitting outside on the terrace with a coffee after a 4 hour drive was much appreciated. Sarah and Paul are excellent hosts 😊 We thoroughly enjoyed our full Welsh breakfast the following morning and would definitely recommend the Celyn.

That we were only able to stay 1 night!

Absolutely beautiful and relaxing place (no noise apart of a few sheep:-). We really felt comfortable in our accommodation right under the roof - very cosy. The family is very friendly and there is always someone available for a little chat. We liked the idea that you gather together with the other guests around one single breakfast table - you get in touch easily and have a good morning exchange!

As our accommodation was on the top floor of the house the bathroom was a little tiny as it is built into the pitch of the roof. A bit of a challenge for a tall person.

I briefly stayed at the Celyn for work before having to go to Abergavenny - The building was wonderful a real fire in the front room with a very comfortable setting. Unfortunately I had to do work whilst I was there, but having such a comfortable setting was great.

The only problem, which isn't something that really can be fixed is locationally its a bit tricky to get too, driving dark winter roads and single track lanes can be quite daunting for someone not well verse with country driving but shouldn't put people off from booking.
