An Inn bursting with character and ideally located for exploring the Usk Valley and surrounding area. Warmly greeted and welcomed by staff and Andrew is an amazing host. Great selection of local and other beers and wide selection of high quality wines we were not expecting. The cuisine was superb, locally sourced with vegetarian and vegan options. The bedroom was spacious and very comfortable with Tea and Coffee and bottled water in each with some nice snack treats. En-suite facility with generous amount of toiletries to hand. Large grounds outside with tables and chairs, so plenty of room for children to run around and play hide and seek behind a magnificent 250+ Tree. The Clytha Arms is probably one of the best Inns that I have stayed in - big thank you to Andrew and his team.
I could have stayed longer!

Different vegetarian choices to the normal, with home made items using local produce. Plenty in quantity.
Although there was a key to one of the locks of the front door, if someone dropped the latch on the other from the inside, there was nowhere else to gain entry, if there were no staff about. This was because the entry was through the pub. It was unfortunate that I returned from being out at 3.45, but couldn't gain entry until the pub opened at 6pm. Just one of those things as the owners were all out that particular afternoon.

Such care and attention paid to everything! The room was well appointed and I had everything I could have wanted. Dinner in the bar the evening of my stay was venison in Rioja with seasonal veg, Welsh cheese board, and a glass of Pinot Noir. Memorable for all the right reasons. In spite of a slip up with a pudding order (hence the second choice of cheese) my food was exceptional. Bed was comfortable and warm, (pillows could perhaps do with a update?) and a good powerful shower in the morning... Breakfast set me up for the day. I had muesli, followed by fresh warm croissant and brown and white toast, and then bacon and scrambled eggs. I'm guessing the bacon was local (likewise the eggs). There was a taste of the country about it all, an immediacy to the flavours. All accompanied by freshly squeezed orange juice, and washed down with a cafetiere of coffee. Truly fantastic value for money and quality in every bite. Thank you!
Nothing. Hosts were wonderful.

Hosts were amazing and friendly. Loved the breakfast menu and the evening meal. There were lots of fish, vegetarian, and vegan options as well. High quality large bottles of shampoo, etc. It felt like we were in someone's lovely home. Spacious room with separate sitting area and classic games. High quality bedding and coffee and teas in the room. Pub was fun as well x
The WiFi was a little slow for streaming. My 6'6 husband was too tall for the 4-post bed.

Relaxed atmosphere, breakfast was outstanding, quality products, cooked to perfection. The room was perfectly presented, four poster bed, writing bureau, soft furnishings with wall mounted tv, mini fridge, coffee & tea facilities, and an assortment of chocolate biscuits. Ensuite, with shower over bath, was small but great for the room. Overall a really enjoyable stay. Andrew & his team, make you feel at home

Clytha arms is one of it's kind. No description matches the experience you encounter. It was not just the place but also the generosity of the host Andrew, that made the stay all the more memorable. We loved the extravagant breakfast, and the ambience around us. We woke up to the sounds of chirping birds, and far and wide could see nothing but green fields and blue skies . The amenities we were offered were more than any other commercial hotels , and this too at a very reasonable price. I was transported to the warm childhood memory of visiting grandparents home .
Nothing.

We felt very welcome when we arrived, our room was lovely, wonderful comfy bed, with gorgeous bedding. The toiletries were the best I've ever seen.We had bottled water beside our bed. Tea/ coffee facilities were excellent with a wide range of Twinings tea bags available. Also in our mugs were assorted chocolates!! The room and bathroom was tastefully decorated.. I would definitely stay here again. ... The breakfast was delicious using the best, local fresh products...
Nothing, our stay was wonderful

- The service and friendliness is unprecedented @ The Clytha Arms: we had a very warm welcome. We had 2 times dinner which was very nice and tasteful; we must admit that we ordered trout and got salmon... Also the breakfast is very good (although the marinated salmon had a bid a 'special' taste :-) ) - we received a room upgrade, which was a lovely and authentically decorated, very spacious room
Cleanliness - mainly dust taking - can be better !

What a great place. Lovely location. Big garden. Efficient and super-friendly staff. Good /fun ambience in the pub on a Friday night. Loads of dogs. Good mix between an eating and drinking establishment. Amazing food. Best breakfast ever. Hot and fresh. Just delightful. Typical pub-type accommodation. Very clean. Lots of nice touches.

Choice and quality for breakfast, was equal to some 4* establishments, but even bettered by the offerings for dinner. In these days of restaurants offering as little as 3 starter/main/desert choices, this small country inn offered an outstanding 20 starters and 15 main courses. Good selection of deserts too, and the only item that hadn't been available of the nine items we'd chosen for the 3 dinners during our 3-night stay, was lemon and manzanilla posset. BUT, if I didn't mind waiting a few minutes, the chef would do some more! Not only did I place the order gratefully, and said I would happily wait as long as necessary, but it was duly served, and very much enjoyed by me. I also may add, this was kindly done, on what was an extremely busy night for them.
