Location over looking Lake Windermere - stunning.. sharing a drink on the lawns beautiful.. Ambleside very pretty. Staff friendly and efficient. They coped well with the number of people.
We were there during holiday time and it was a very popular - the hotel and location in general. We didn't mind that - but go in a quieter time to experience the hotel and pretty Ambleside if you aren't into lots of people. - A jolly holiday experience

Main bar area is historic and full of character, guest rooms are more modern but very clean and stylish. Location is great, right on the waterfront - literally! It has two decent sized car parks which is very handy in this area! The buffet style cooked breakfast was good and is open for a wide range of times around breakfast which would suit both early birds and late risers. Lake cruises leave from the jetty right next to the pub so you can just leave your car in the car park and get around on the regular boat services if you wish.
Food is reasonably priced by the standards of the Lakes, but the drinks at the bar are quite expensive

breakfast was great, loved the buffet style. A couple more non meat options would have been great but it was good overall. Also the staff were lovely and helpful even though it seemed really busy. It was great to have a bag storage locked away so it was safe. The location overall was just beautiful. The bedroom was also pretty big and seemed very clean and the bed was comfy.
the bed was 2 singles pushed together so even though it had the sheet over them both, I did fall down the dip in the middle when I was trying to be close to my partner in the night so as we went away together for a cute trip that was the only thing that let it down as we ended up having to sleep with a gap between us.

The room was excellent, clean, spacious and with good facilities. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony, even if the view of the lake was somewhat impeded by a large tree. The staff were very helpful and could not have been kinder, especially when my wife stumbled and hurt her hand. The wifi did not initially work, but by day 2 it was working very well. Ambleside is less than a mile away and we had a wonderful meal there at Lucy's on a Plate. Also the ferry stop is about 100 yards from the hotel.
The only criticism we could levy is that the food did not match the other amenities. We had one dinner which was a little disappointing, and breakfasts, while plentiful, were a little colder than we would have liked.

I had visited @ Year 2000 but only to enjoy the dining and the lovely surroundings. As I was driving to Edinburgh with my sister I decided to pass through the Lake District and enjoy one night's stay on the way. I am glad I made that decision as the Inn is so lovely. The room was spacious and clean and quiet. As it was on the second level we had a lovely view of the lake. The pillows were the best we have ever enjoyed in the many hotels we have stayed in. We loved their firmness and we had one of the best sleep in our holiday in UK. The food is tasty and breakfast substantial & I so liked the black mushrooms. The Inn is in beautiful tranquil surrounds and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay
all was good thanks

Wonderful views! Could not be beaten for location. Brilliant beer garden right on the lake edge. We were in a room over the road but had an amazing view. Staff were really nice too.
Breakfast was disappointing. Small selection and took some time for things to be refilled in the cooked breakfast buffet. Felt really disorganised. Our room had a couple of electrical faults, TV turned on at random and flickering lights. The toilet also felt unstable and creaked when I sat on it, I'm petite so would worry about others sitting on it.

location amazing.... spacious room
overpriced bar food limited menu choice standard of food didn't match the cost, poor quality arrived at 2.50 told to buy drinks and wait until.check in at 3 no attempt to see if room was ready reception wasn't clearly sign posted, having stayed previously where the reception was clear to find had to ask staff as we couldn't find check.in bathroom had tiled floor but not grouted water getting under tiles making them loose. limited parking as work being carried out on property

Like everywhere in the Lake District, the Wateredge seems to be having issues with staff. However, the staff there were all really friendly and worked incredibly hard. The hotel and location were perfect. We plan to return to Wateredge in the near future. Thanks, for a lovely stay. Also, we took our dog and it was very dog friendly.
Because the weather was great, we didn't spend much time in our room, however next time, we would pay for a larger room. The shower in room 15 is a bit of a squeeze.

Great location on the side of the lake - fantastic views - good local facilities. The staff were very friendly and helpful as the hotel had just opened after refurbishment, and they were trying to get everything up and running for visitors.
We booked a garden room, however building work was still going on, the noise was quite loud during the day as there was a generator running outside our room, and lots of workmen around.

The staff were lovely and the location couldn’t have been better. We had plans to go out and about in the evening but decided to stay onsite since it was so great. There was live music, nice menu and amazing views. The room was clean and modern. The hotel was very peaceful
Our room was by a loud staircase which was quite loud as people went for breakfast. It woke us up and kept us awake earlier than we would have liked. Also air con in the rooms would have been appreciated
