Lovely corner bedroom (No 20) with dual aspect windows overlooking fields. The bedroom was nicely decorated, and the electric fan was much appreciated. Good shower and toiletries. The bed was comfortable, and the hairdryer, long mirror in the wardrobe, dressing table, and chest of drawers were very useful. All the staff were welcoming and attentive. Breakfast was tasty and well presented. There was also a good choice on the breakfast menu (The Chatsworth ginger and lemon biscuits in our room were a lovely treat). We both loved the new Garden Room and terrace. The view from the GR made us think we were in Italy. (Just lovely). The gardens were beautifully maintained, and we loved the quirky layout of the corridors to the rooms. We didn't eat in the restaurant on this visit, but when we visited in March we enjoyed both the surroundings and food.

Extra water in the fridge would have been appreciated.

the room was clean and nice. The staff was generally very nice. We have had the afternoon tea which was brilliant! It's walking distance to the Chatsworth House which is amazing.

Very disappointing breakfast and the lady managing the breakfasts. She was quite rude and when we said we did not enjoy the food she did not seem to care at all. She was rude to other guests so we didn't take it personally. The young gentlemen though was brilliant and very attentive which soften the blow a little :)

Relaxed atmosphere and wonderful views. The team were very helpful, considerate and courteous. I would return just based on how we were made to feel.

Food was not good value. Breakfast was not well prepared (for example the buns on the egg Benedict were not toasted, the ham was straight out of the fridge and the eggs cold) and dinner was very ordinary for the price. The plates in the garden room are awful as well, they are difficult to eat from and scratchy.

beautiful location and historic building!! the reception staff were amazing and food for lunch was great. I loves the theme of the rooms , really cosy feeling and very comfortable beds and bathrooms.

the only thing I would say is to train the restaurants staff a bit more. The service for lunch when we arrived was a bit slow and we had to ask for the menu , our order to be taken and then waited to pay for a long time.

This hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. The building is lovely, the rooms are sumptuous, the staff were delightful and they clearly functioned as a team - nothing was too much trouble. The food was beautiful - dinner I would say was extraordinary. Whilst the service was terrific and the attention to detail really wonderful the hotel still felt homely - not 'stuffy' in any way. I would stay again in a heart beat!

The staff! All were exceptional!

Don't book through Booking com.! Massive premium, paid up front and no cancellation option. Book direct with hotel. Cheaper and better to speak to reception about your needs and rooms

The breakfasts were superb with lots of dishes to choose from, and The Gallery dining room was delightfully spacious.

The Garden Room was OK with a different, cheaper menu but both restaurants served Fine Dining (aka no real veregables). The dinner menu in The Gallery was also very expensive.

Room. was comfortable and had all usual amenities with a lovely view of the garden . Both restaurants were excellent , really great food with a very friendly and effective service . We also chose to do a Chefs Table and thoroughly enjoyed the food as well as the intercourse with the various chefs Also a great selection of wines and drinks ....

Breakfast menu could be a little more creative .

All staff exemplary! Problems were sorted sensitively and with care.

Location brilliant for Chatsworth, especially if weather good. Nice walk... a couple of miles of tree lined walk

Excellent service. Food was delicious. Room was lovely with comfy beds and good linen.

The food was so good but the Garden Room restaurant was an odd room. People kept walking through. Felt we were sitting in a lean to being served with fine dining food. The beautiful view was restricted by some tents outside in the garden
