Clean and welcoming. Reception and waiting staff on in the evening were exceptional, especially at dinner. Regular guests at sister hotel but thought we would try here. Definitely better

Everything was great until the breakfast experience. Scruffy and very rude woman in charge that morning. Took an absolute age to get any service and I then had to ask for tea and toast. Partner was rudely interrupted by already mentioned staff member when ordering his food. Such a shame as everything else about our stay was great

First Impressions of this hotel were lovely, the outside decor and maintenance of the hotel is very clean and generally well looked after, very clean, everything sparkles in this hotel! I think the receptionists name was Sandra, she made us feel very welcomed it was an overall pleasant check in, she even upgraded us to the main building! The night man on reception was also very lovely and chatty with us.

Nothing

Pros: Excellent Staff. Very helpful and accommodating. Rooms are a decent size for the price. Most of the food at the restaurants were satisfactory. Excellent Seasons Burger.

Rooms should have a mini fridge and/or a microwave. Having these two appliances would be an improvement. Some of the restaurant menus can be expanded a bit. To offer a wider variety of food for guests.

Location and the staff were very helpful. Facilities were clean and tidy and great breakfast choice.

Unfortunately I was woken up by swearing couple at 2am next door which went on for over an hour that I had to call reception. Very abusive and heard everything. Couldn’t get back to sleep for ages after that.

This hotel is EPIC! Reception staff lovely. The evening meal we had was quite literally first class. So well and carefully cooked. The bed was comfortable, and a heater rapidly supplied when we said we were a bit cold. We cannot expect hotekls to heat multiple rooms, some empty, in the current cost of living crisis. So, thanks for the heater! Above all, to us, there are TWO EV charge points. Big Big advantage, and no doubt before long they will need two more. We don't book at hotels that lack this vital commodity. Breakfast impecably cooked. Overall a gem of a place.

Nothing.

Food was excellent quality. Service was very good - staff were very attentive. The main areas of the hotel were lovely and the dining room was spacious; staff were careful not to put other people right next to us which was good.

The room was small and although the decor was very nice it felt like we were in our friends' best room. Most 4 star hotels have generous sized rooms even the standard ones. The leisure facilities being in The Barnstaple Hotel is really not convenient. The cost of an overnight including breakfast was very expensive not to have facilities within the hotel. This is one of the main things we look for when booking a 4 star hotel as we like to relax in the pool etc.

Amazingly clean and upmarket, it is incredible how deluded premier inn barnstable is for charging almost the same price as your room! What an experience compared to the smelly PI I stayed at last month; thank you! The restaurant was off the charts in the quality of food and service. This was also repeated for breakfast.

The two single beds pushed together to make a double. This caused a significantly raised edge in the middle which, in my case, interrupted my sleep.

Quantity of excellent food was very good. We'll presented and staff were always happy to go that extra mile. Our room was very comfortable, decorated tastefully and attention to detail with regard to replacement towels , tea, coffee milk etc was superb.

The moment we stepped into reception the receptionist greated us with a warm welcome which immediately put my wife and i at ease. We arrived late and evening meal was just about to end. My wife and I were hungry after a long drive, the reptionist picked up on this and said go have a meal and check in afterwards. The meal over which was outstanding we processed to check in our bags had already been taken to our room which was above and beyond the receptionist duties we checked in and went to our room 211 . Outstanding quality a bed so comfortable we fell asleep immediately. A big thank you to the reception staff the bar staff the waiters the reception staff and finally Steve the manager who with his leadership made our stay outstanding . Thankfully all.

..What we diskliked the most was checking out....more please we loved it so much. If anyone dislikes this hotel they must be bonkers

The staff were great and attended to everything that I asked for. I travelled with an EV car and there are two AC chargers on-site which was a good bonus.

The annex building adjunct to the main hotel building was extremely warm and it wasn't a particularly hot day that I stayed. On the plus side there was already a fan in the wardwrobe so the staff are aware of the problem. I wouldn't stay in the middle of summer.
