Just a minor issue!The kettle and tea and coffee tray had been positioned on top of the chest of drawers but there was no socket to plug in the kettle close by.We had to put the kettle on the window ledge when we needed to plug it in!Maybe better to move the whole tray onto the window ledge as the socket is directly below the window sill

The room was lovely, the bed really comfy and we had everything we needed (plus some lovely extra treats from Amie). Breakfast was exactly right - all the usual choices but my favourites were the gorgeous porridge and the fruit and granola. Dinners were great and I am now a big fan of homity pie! Amie really goes out of her way to make things special and all the staff were super friendly and attentive.

The room was very nice with views over the fields, the breakfast choice was great and any combination of what was on offer was available. Dinner was extra but the quality of the food was amazing, very high standard. The dog was made very welcome and made a fuss of and nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff.

Nothing comes to mind, it was all we hoped for and more. The only thing that could have been better but impossible to change was the width of the surrounding roads. All were single track and very bendy, you just hope you didn’t meet anything coming the other way!

The entire team was incredibly accommodating and extremely kind. From allowing us to check into our room a few hours early (for a much-needed nap!) to the very kind servers at the pub for our evening meal, we had an incredibly relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Be prepared to be off the grid: the area has no reception, so it's WiFi only within the bounds of the pub. And breakfast is for early risers only, as it's offered between 8-9am only.

Loved that we were able book this place on our road trip through Cornwall/Devon. We had a super nice dinner, it was nice to just walk up the stairs to get to the room straight from the restaurant. We had to leave early for our flight to Bristol, but the owners made sure we got an early breakfast which was very good and helpful :-)

Some noise from the restaurant (Saturday night) when we got in our room, but it was quiet at 11PM, so no problem for us.

Room was very bright, spacious and well decorated. Bed, chairs etc very comfortable and cleanliness exemplary. Good shower, towels, linen etc all white and clean. Evening meal was good if a little expensive but don't know whether this was because it was a Christmas menu. Breakfast was good. Quiet rural location.

Did not get confirmation on booking that the room for "dogs" was available, nor that our request for a table in evening was ok. E mail not answered (although told there was a problem with e mail but they did get the booking with the request. Had to phone twice to confirm. Breakfast not clear whether could have cereal and cooked. Only one cup of coffee brought. No offers of refill nor more toast etc. The food we had was good though.

Everything. The staff were wonderful. Friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. Really quality menu cooked and served to perfection. The bedroom was for dog owners and that was what we needed even though I had forgotten to book it!

Lovely quiet location in the Combe of East Down. The rooms are well appointed and clean. Food is top notch, and we always over-indulge in the evening and then struggle with breakfast the next day!

Nothing. Just note there is no mobile signal (certainly if you’re on Vodafone anyway)

lovely spacious room and bathroom. The bed is comfortable, room is clean and nice shower. Food here is delicious, including the breakfast with the room looking out over fields. Car parking available and a great base to explore North Devon.

Tiny downside was the automatic landing light from the bedroom. We had to walk with our phone torches on until it came on. This is such a small thing though it’s hardly worth mentioning!

The staff were excellent the moment we arrived, very polite and welcoming, the building itself is very warming and cosy, the rooms were amazing, and the food was exceptional. I will definitely be returning again hopefully not in work circumstances next time.
