Huge room with a very comfortable bed in a quiet location with plenty of parking. The room also had a separate section with a second bed making it easy to share with another person. The breakfast was really tasty - top quality sausages and bacon (not the cheap supermarket stuff) which were fabulous. N.B. there isn't a buffet, so you have a choice of one item from the menu - I would recommend the full English breakfast option!

I would have liked a cappuccino but they only offer filter coffee (but that was still nice coffee). In the evening, I arrived late (around 8pm) and because the hotel had very few guests that night, the chef had wrapped up, however he did make me a very nice salad.

Beautifully maintained property, stunning location. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, the rooms were comfortable with a beautiful bathroom, fluffy robes and plentiful hot water. Lovely toiletries provided, too! Breakfast was delicious, with a great selection. I’d also like to mention, the staff were setting up for a wedding on the day of our departure but you would never have known. They were all so calm and organised. There wasn’t a hint of panic. If you are planning on hosting your wedding here, you can rest assured you will be in very safe, calm and capable hands.

Absolutely nothing not to like!

This is a beautiful boutique hotel with a small number of exquisite bedrooms that have been updated while maintaining the historical feel of the house. The room included a small fridge which exceeded my expectations and made my stay even more pleasant. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean. I had breakfast and dinner there and the food was really good. There are multiple cosy lounges to relax in before and after dinner, including a bar area. It really felt like a home from home. The hotel also benefits from a large car park and is located on a quieter country road, with beautiful open views just outside Derby. I will definitely be back.

All rooms are on the first floor, up a wide staircase, so it may difficult to stay there if you are disabled or struggle up the stairs. I was also a bit concerned on departure as the owners' lovely two young boys were playing with bikes on the car park and were not particularly careful of cars and vans arriving and leaving. The younger one actually rode his bike at me as I was reversing.

Breakfast was good. But would have liked to have a bit more of choice with cereals etc. Also the room that I stayed was very very small. Where as there were bigger and better rooms available. On Booking .com it said (garden view room). Could not find any garden view though. Although we had 2 windows and on both sides of the wall with great view of the hills and farm lands

Less choice with Breakfast. Could have had a bigger room. But really does bot matter and staff were very nice and accomodative.

Size of establishment, personal atmosphere, excellent food, Room Curzon: quality soft furnishings, excellent large bathroom and fittings, comfy bed, expresso maker and fridge, but out of sight in well organised cupboard. Large garden area with various sitting areas. Attentive staff. Historic House. Orangery dining space. Rural setting.

Deck outside Orangery a bit cramped with furniture. Kedleston Road HGV traffic noticeable in garden area in otherwise very quiet rural setting.

We loved the room, the cocktails in the garden and the staff! We were already considering a return trip until we were both disappointed by breakfast! My granola was over sweet, with insufficient yogurt and fruit. As an anticipated healthy option, it fell very short and I left a good half of it, if not more. My husband's cooked breakfast had very sad scrambled egg and just did not match up to our expectations. We realise there were temporary problems with the hob, but a slight adjustment in costs would have been a gesture. My granola, however, was quite unpleasant and nothing to do with cooking facilities. As I recall, the bread was also disappointing, standard white and brown sliced. BUT the room was an absolute joy - what a shame.

See above.

Stayed here before and it was amazing. On revist its got even better which is to an incredible standard We willl return.again for sure and can't wait for another good relax, nice atmosphere, superb service and that is from each and every staff member plus the owners,, excellent food at restaurant... faultless and can not recommend enough. Always recommend this to my friends and family as its a little hidden gem.

Perhaps too much use of a type of pea shoots served on every dish including full English breakfast and the Sunday roast. All the food was exceptional though so if this is my only fault its petty. 😀

This is a beautiful house and very spacious and comfortable rooms. Attention to detail and “home comforts” added to the stay The staff were welcoming and accomodating. Very relaxed stay

Nothing to speak of except the lighting in the dining room was harsh. I would advise the hotel to get dimmers or softer lighting which would enhance the room and experience.

The hotel is lovely with cosy sitting rooms and very attractive bedrooms. The staff could not have been more helpful - carried my bag upstairs, left breakfast in my room because I had an early start, helped me work out how to use the coffee machine and even made me some toast because I was still hungry! It cost less than the Premier Inn and was incomparably better.

If breakfast had been served a bit earlier that would have been better for me.

The comfort and friendly atmosphere. Great shower and toiletries. Everything has been considered for your comfort. Towels, gowns, hot drinks, fridge and fresh milk. Iron and board ideal for our wedding prep. Fabulous breakfast with latest sit down at 10am which was ideal for us after a late night/wedding.

There is nothing I can think of.
