In general it exceeded my expectations. Neat old hotel with its own charm. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were decent (I assume they are the same every day though, so might get stale after a while). Located right outside of Derby train station, very convenient. Perfect location for Download Festival attendees :)

As many other reviews mentioned, water issues. Water would randomly stop and you are standing in the shower cold and wet waiting for the next serving of low pressure water to come through. Wifi was fairly slow, especially during our final day. Speedtest showed 0.5 mbps.

This hotel is all about the amazing staff. The 2 ladies working the evening I stayed could not have done enough for the guests. They managed a busy bar and the reception desk superbly. The room was of a good size and the bed was comfortable. Whilst the bathroom wasn't the largest it still offered enough space to get what's needed done. I also appreciate the fact they had placed a fan in the wardrobe and then advised of this when checking in so I knew about it as it was a particularly warm evening when I stayed. All areas of the hotel had seemed to have a refurb and was very clean. Perfect location for both the railway station and city centre.

If I had to find something, the shower could be a little bigger but still did the job and would only fall into the "very minor issue" category.

I liked the ambience of an older railroad hotel--literally across the street from Derby Midlands Station--and the larger suite was comfortable and featured a large TV and comfy bed. Good shower. Good breakfast.

I'm not a fan of tubs, but that's a preference. The WiFi was unusable in my room. I work remotely, and one reason I chose the Aston Court was because of the WiFi which I was assured was good. I ended up having to conduct live online meetings from the lobby--not ideal! Some rehabbing going on that guests may have to work around.

The location was perfect for what we needed, breakfast was buffet style; simple, tasty and easy to navigate. Partner particularly enjoyed the little croissants. Well kept hotel and polite staff.

The little lift available was a little juddery which we found a little scary. On the Friday evening the fire alarm went off, after the quick evacuation with other guests. We was told it was a fault due to the bad weather and a leak near the panel. We hope that this issue gets fixed to prevent this from occurring again in the future.

We couldn’t fault this hotel. Ideal location close to train station and shopping centre. We had 3 x single rooms and all were clean and today. Free on-site parking. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful - nothing was too much for them. We booked for one night only, as we were attending an event in the area, and we were surprised at just how good this hotel was. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. Truly, the staff make this hotel - because every staff member was polite, friendly and helpful. A lovely place to stay.

Modern, clean interior and well kept towels, bedding. Fan supplied which was essential on such a hot day! Due to proximity with Derby railways station this was an incredibly convenient location, and only 10 minutes walk from town or a minute to a bus stop and taxi rank. Fast and friendly check-in made for a straightforward and enjoyable stay.

Plug sockets were a little far from the bed, which made setting an effective alarm somewhat difficult! Then again, the bed was comfortable so I slept like a brick :)

East to find near the train station. Free car park at the back of the hotel is a real bonus, safe and secure. Good sized single room, comfy bed, everything very clean. Jenny on reception is a real delight, so helpful. A great breakfast set us up well for a day at Donnington,

For us, little could be improved. Maybe a couple more draught beers, Guinness would be good. Some softer seating in the reception and bar area, as everything is tables and chairs, 4 or 5 sofas would do it.

Great to see the awesome hotel reopened again..it was my 40th anniversary staying as my younger brother and myself stayed there for the first time in Aug84' for the M.O.R84 festival in Donington..Love the new decor and the hotel is smiling just like the staff..Breakfast is to die for and respect to all the breakfast staff...Already booked for next year ... SYATB

Nothing..Everything was awesome and it makes a stay more comfortable and relaxed..

Every aspect of our visit was perfect from the friendly staff to the beautifully decorated and comfortable rooms , the location was just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of derby city centre yet central enough so tour not struggling for taxis with heavy shopping bags or from having a meal at one of many restaurants within walking distance, all in all we had a lovely time and will definitely return to the Aston Court hotel.

Great location, quiet room. Comfy beds and plenty of pillows. Shower water pressure was good and had a bathtub. Great value and free parking were very handy. Staff were friendly and also kind enough to let us park in the carpark before our check in time while we wandered around town.

Kettle could have been a bit cleaner. Also would be nice for the room to have bedside lamps or lighting of some type other than the overhead lights.
