The location is excellent for Birmingham Airport and the NEC. There are clear directions from Birmingham International Rail Station with the walk taking around 10-minutes. However, do be aware that the route is via the industrial rear of the NEC, but it is well lit. To find, head towards the NEC, but watch out for signs (left to the lift/right to the stairs) to the Ibis Styles Hotel located just prior to entering NEC. My room was well equiped with kettle etc, ironing board, work table and a sofa.

In early evening, the TV reception was poor with glitches, likely due to many people watching as, at 2am the picture was clear!

Comfy, clean room. Friendly staff. Great location for NEC.

Breakfast was a shambles. Not enough staff on. Had to ask for hot food then wait for it to arrive. Had to ask for fruit and bread. They’d run out of croissants. Very few pastries for the continental breakfast. Run out of butter and I couldn’t be bothered to ask and wait yet again. No one greeted us and to be honest we could have just helped ourselves to food without paying. (We did catch a staff member and pay) There weren’t enough staff on to see who was coming in. Not their fault they were trying so hard. Disappointing. I wish I’d asked for a refund as did not get value for money.

The bed was really comfy and the room was really clean. Bedding was great quality and spotless. Bathroom was also spotless and the toilet roll was noticeably good quality too. Two sets of towels also and an iron and board as standard. Staff were lovely and made an effort to try to do their best for you.

It was £45 for on-site parking for three nights and breakfast wasn't included either which added a chunk of cost to the trip. My room card failed twice which meant me going up and down in the lift back to reception. Food was good but wasn't exactly as described (one fishcake instead of fishcakes, no lime) and in spite of me asking for things to be brought out together they weren't on one occasion which left me with my meal in two halves. I was shattered and just wanted to eat and sleep and not chase food and be unable to get into my room. Apart from that it was a lovely stay.

The room was a nice size and very clean. The bed was comfortable, and linen and towels were lovely. It was easy to get the room at the right temperature, as the air conditioning controls were straight-forward. Breakfast was generally good with a nice selection of food.

Breakfast - good selection of food but a low-sugar muesli would have been nice. On both mornings a coffee machine was not working so there were queues for coffee. Room - the carpet was very strange and not restful. Hairdryer - having to hold in the switch to keep it running made drying hair awkward.

Close proximity to NEC, parking on site, allowed dogs, spotlessly clean rooms, very helpful staff. Breakfast pretty good with plenty of food available, good coffee and range on the buffet. Gluten and lactose free alternatives available; more for breakfast than evening meal. Rooms had lots of tea/coffee, good hairdryer, iron and full sized ironing board. Good kettle. Housekeeping staff very pleasant and helpful.

The evening food was little more than acceptable. Staff are all very helpful and pleasant but very understaffed on a busy Saturday night with a full hotel. On the Saturday the queue to order food and drink was very long and there were just 2 members of staff to man the bar, take orders and give out the food. The chef had to come out to serve food. I was very impressed by their helpful attitude despite being so obviously under pressure. There was a limited menu that night probably due to being so short staffed. For the price the evening food was very disappointing and mostly frozen food that had been reheated.

near to airport good value for money,check out was great,receptionist was great at her job,she went above and beyond her duty to give us the information we needed about airport location etc..she was on front desk at 830am on Monday morning we didn't catch her name but she is an asset to the IBis hotel group

bar staff on Sunday evening the 20th not to pleasant I understand alot of extra people at hotel due to storm Ashley but the guy that was serving and balancing up bar and turning people away and telling them to come back in 5 mins was a little to much not a pleasant person to deal with at all

From the moment we stepped upto the reception desk it's was absolutely brilliant the two receptionists Nora and Helen were so lovely very professional in checking us in and sort parking out and then we had a load of questions and they were so knowledgeable and helpful it was a breath of fresh air . we have never stayed in an Ibis hotel and we travel around for Hyrox competitions and in the future Ibis will be our go to accommodation on our travels. I have friends that travel with us and for business so I'll definitely be spreading the Ibis love , all the best to your great team Glenn

Easy walk to and from NEC, staff were excellent, from front of house to bar staff ,everyone very friendly and gave off the impression that nothing would be a problem for them if you asked for something.My room was fine,cleane and everything that i needed was there, only thing i,d say there were marks on carpet that appeared like bleach had been spilled and lifted colour, and plastic tubing on shower was dirty looking inside, be hard to clean a design fault i,d say

Only the two things i mentioned above bleach marks on carpet and plastic tubing on shower that i,d say was a design fault stopping being able to clean it.

Room was very comfy, food in restaurant was lovely and we were given a free drink which was a lovely touch, everywhere was super clean and staff were friendly

Be careful when booking, this hotel is access to the airport via shuttle, we were not aware of this as distance says it is close (train tracks are in the way for direct access) although this was easy to use first shuttle is half 3, our plane was 6 thankfully we had dropped our suitcases the night before. The heating did not work in the room although there was a notice in room saying it wasn't mentioned when booking.

OVERVIEW... Taking the plunge as my first time away solo, I decided to stay at this hotel as it was right next to the NEC and B'ham nternational station. The room was spacious as was the bathroom, the lobby and restaurant areas were very open. Unfortunately some places need a touch up like big stains on communal carpets, but I believe in the upcoming months certain areas will be having a makeover/revamp. The staff were great and very friendly, any issues or questions I had they helped. Helen on front desk, Harry and the girls at the bar and even housekeeping and other staff I had interactions with were all positive. I will be coming back, especially if there is an event on at the NEC that I wish to attend. PS: Found a hedgehog on the grass at the back! NEARBY ACTIVITIES... Obviously you have the NEC next-door, which doesn't take too long to get to. There is also Resorts World at the NEC, which I didn't go to this time; but this did seem to close early. You also have B'ham International Airport which had lots of activity, an easy access viewing area too for all you fellow aviation geeks. You can also catch a train into B'ham too, which was easy. ROOMS... I believe I had a queen room, it was spacious for one person but the AC unit took some getting used to with the controls. The bed was comfy for me, lots of lights if needed uncluding an additional fan and kettle should you wish to use them. It was a clean room, and a cleaning service is available during your stay should you wish. SAFETY... The fire alarm is loud, the building is not overly complicated to navigate. WALKABILITY... A short walk (10-15 mins) to B'ham International station, and 20-30mins walking depending which way you go and where your hall is at the NEC. For access to the hotel from the train station, there is sign posted stairs and a lift on the bridge from the station to the NEC. I would say it takes about 20-30 mins to walk to the airport too.

Just some touching up in areas is needed, like big stains on communal flooring (stairs) and that's the only negative I have really...so nothing major.
