Everything! From the booking of the hotel, to arriving and being greeted with a smile, being given an amazing room on the top floor over looking the lake. Once in the room it was really quiet, we were even able to have an afternoon nap before going to the arena after late lunch, which is literally a five minute walk from the hotel. We were able to check in earlier which was a great bonus, otherwise we could have dropped our bags and checked back in later. The parking for the hotel is in its own area of E5 carpark where you aquire a yellow disc and activate it at the hotel to receive discount off your parking. On leaving the carpark you cross over the road, a short walk around the lake and you arrive at reception. Resorts world food restaurants and shopping are very close by and easy to book into. The lounge and dining area of the hotel is very modern and colourful with plenty of places to sit and relax. The bedroom is well laid out and the bathroom/shower room is ample size with a good size shower cubicle. (no bath). Breakfast the next day was amazing! A fantastic array of pastries, fresh fruits, yoghurts, breads, jams, spreads, cheeses, full English buffet, cereals, tea, coffee, and juices. With no limit to how much you wanted to eat. Check out was easy, just pop your door card in a box at the bar and off you go. Staff were very friendly, always busy clearing away glasses etc, cleaning and just making sure you have a good time. Will definitely book there again and will be recommending it to family and friends.

Decor down in the lobby is well placed and chosen to portray a welcoming atmosphere. Most places are almost clinical these days, but this hotel is super warming and fun! The placement of the bar downstairs certainly brings it to life. The room was spotless with more of a modern, minimalist design, in comparison to downstairs, which gives the whole place a balance of an exciting but also calming getaway. The staff were exceptional all round with lovely smiles and helpful service, in which also applies to the cleaners. Adequate AC/heating was supplied to the room and we were comfortable the entire stay. To add on, the water pressure in the shower is delightful, and they supply the essentials in good quality. There is a fitness centre that i did not end up using, but the option to is lovely. The property itself is barely a minute walk to the NEC (in which my partner and I were attending that weekend), and was neighbouring close by to a mall with plenty of food options. This placement is perfect and entirely convenient. The included breakfast was the cherry on top. I’m gluten and lactose intolerant, and the breakfast had plenty of options for me to enjoy. They provide gluten free bread, Alpro yogurts, soya and oat milk- just to name a few. The full english breakfast staples were cooked wonderfully and kept well topped up by hard working staff. The parking in E5 is just half price for those who validate their token on check in, and just a short 10 minute walk around the lake to the hotel. If you’re looking for a hotel in Birmingham full of everything you need, this is certainly the place for you.

TV remote stopped working at points, but started working again a couple of minutes later.

Loved the moxy, it's a hotel but a lot more relaxed and vibey than most. Lovely decor, social feeling, can see yourself hanging out there. The rooms are modern, functional and very clean. Facilities are great and have everything you need for your stay. The free cocktail/mocktail is a nice touch to get people to the bar area.

The breakfast time was very busy, not really enough seating for everyone at this particular venue at the peak time and the selection therefore was a bit empty and had to wait for hot items.. That's literally my only negative.

If you have business in NEC, the location is perfect with a large park nearby for walks, convenient parking, friendly guys at the counter, and a shopping mall nearby. It's especially cool that at night, you don't have to search for the light switch because there's a motion sensor lamp under the bed, making it easy to go to the bathroom.

There could be more elevators because during peak hours, there's a long wait to go down, and due to its nature, the bar and all other expenses can be considered expensive. What was also odd is that there's no wardrobe, so you can't keep things tidy.

Staff were all so so lovely and helpful. Gym is basic, but it was also not - it had all I needed. Couldn't do a full workout, but could adapt fine. It's not a fitness club, it's a hotel. Aside from that, the gym was clean and chic - lovely place to workout. I can manage without my regular equipment for four days. Rooms was lovely - aside from my other comments. Great location.

All was great, just the floors may be a little thing, so my first night I didn't get much sleep as I could hear people walking around above me. The staff were amazing - at first I heard the TV which had been left on. And they went into the room and turned it down. When the guests came back though, I was already in bed and couldn't be bothered to ask for another room due to their footsteps. The following three nights they had left and I slept great

Breakfast was absolutely superb, with such a wide choice on offer for all tastes. We have spent far more, for much less elsewhere. The relaxing environment, 'easy going vibe', and attentive staff really made this a fantastic night stay. I am normally disappointed by venue hotels, the Moxy does not fall into this category.

Check in was a little convoluted, with one check in station broken, and one member of staff taking an inordinate amount of time check in one man. However, this is the only area of the experience that wasn't great, and quite frankly I could have sat in the comfortable bar area and simply waited.

Really good location, friendly staff, and breakfast is brilliant. Great amount of choice. Love the free cocktail on check in, great touch! Would reccommend to anybody looking for a place to stay close to the NEC

Personal preference, but I'm not a fan of the pillows. Find them far too soft and difficult to get comfortable. Would like to have access to the temperature control. Felt the room was quite warm, and having to turn the aircon off and open the window when close to an airport and train station, as well as busy conference centre was annoying. (the temperature is set dependent on season, only way to change it is to turn off and open the window to cool the room down)

Location for our stay was great. NEC Print Show during the day and Sign & Wrap Awards in the evening - Easy walkable distance to each location and that car park walk wasn't too far and great to get a discount. Breakfast had a great selection, it was all warm and staff kept an eye on it all. Saw there was Gluten Free options available and on show (didn't have to ask) I was in shock compared to other hotels/breakfast buffets. Mocha & Hot Chocolate was lovely!! Loved the vibe & quirkiness of the whole hotel - Would defiantly recommend & stay again if required/space.

There was a 7.30am fire alarm - Wasn't the best nor asked for alarm call after a busy day/late night...lol. Nothing else was wrong!

Simple modern Scandi style decor and good location, I felt safe and comfortable and was really close to the NEC and the local restaurants. The lake view was lovely too!

My room was a little cold and I couldn't get the thermostat to work to warm it up, also the car park was a bit of a walk away and the room could have been hoovered a little more thoroughly!

Super comfortable, a great buzz about it. Fantastic staff, super clean, friendly and perfectly positioned. Room was lovely and the bed comfortable. Facilities in the room were great. The room was spotless and looked brand new. Breakfast was a joy. Can't praise the staff enough. Just a completely memorable stay. Will only ever need to think about staying at the Moxy when we visit next and thereafter. We liked mostly that we landed on or feet deciding to stay at the Moxy. If only every hotel could be at this level.

Really can't say as we had absolutely no moments of 'if only' or 'shame about that bit'.
