Position walking distance from NEC (13 minutes). Very nice structure reminding a Victorian traditional British building. Lovely staff, was very nice having breakfast with Mrs Jane, a really nice woman who let's you feel at home. Nice bar for a night drink. A really nice place to stay

The only very important thing I suggest to the owner is to invest in order to change the tents of the rooms. The ones that are now on the windows let filter all the light and it is really disturbing being awakened by the light at 5 am. All hotels have decent tents that create darkness, and a sleep without the dark is a bas sleep. You can do it, it's easy, doesn't cost too much and it will let your hosted rest all night long

staff , room, pool and food all good

I booked this hotel as it was advertised as walking distance from the NEC...but due to road works and a closed bridge over the train station, there was no way to walk to and from the NEC. This meant taking taxis on every journey and a lot of wasted time trying to walk

Free, extensive car park. Walking distance from Birmingham Airport (via free skytrain to Railway Station) and Resorts World, NEC and trains. Wifi worked well. Windows openable, so fresh air in rooms. Nice bath with good water pressure, spacious room with a desk and lamp. Plenty of space to hang up clothes and storage space. Tea and coffee, bottled water and biscuits provided each day, and help yourself to replenishments from reception. Very comfortable and quiet. TV with lots of channels.

Hotel directions on the hotel's website are correct, so follow these. But beware, if driving, that Google maps or sat nav directs you on A45 and then dangerously directs you to suddenly turn 90 degrees left into the hotel entrance ACROSS the merging slip road, whereas you should be on the slip road itself, having looped round a previous roundabout.

The food was excellent, the staff very helpful and informative. Location great for the NEC. Clean, comfortable, bar area good. Sadly didn't get time to use facilities.

The phone in the room didn't work, did report it but wasn't fixed within the 3 nights we were there but not a biggie. The key cards for room not great, had to get them reactivated at least 3 times and they had been kept separate from each other, mobile phone, anything that could demagnetise them so not sure why. Fire alarm went off at 3am, we were about to go out when somebody said they had spoken to reception it was false alarm, sadly they couldn't stop it for an hour but the young man on reception was trying his best to resolve. Although the above are negatives, would use the hotel again.

The hotel was clean and the rooms were comfortable. The bar was big and had plenty of tables and chairs. Also some very comfy Chesterfield type sofa's and armchairs. The staff were all really good. Friendly, helpful and good at their jobs. No fuss no bother. The restaurant was very good and the food was hot and very tasty. I had a gammon steak on our first night and fish and chips on our 2nd night. Both meals were very good and portion size was great. Good for NEC, which is why we stayed. Easy to get to by car or cab but a bit of a faff to get back to at days end (not that the Arden can do much about that). Good for airport too as they do a park and fly package. We had a very good stay. It's a 3* hotel so don't expect the Ritz or Hilton and you'll be fine 👍👍

Getting back to the hotel after a day at the NEC classic car show.

The hotel was very convenient for the NEC and overall was clean and tidy if a little tired however the bathroom had been upgraded and was nice and clean, the bed was comfortable and the TV was easy to work. Food was excellent in the restaurant and the service in both the restaurant and bar was superb - great staff who are an asset to the hotel.

Large hotel that looks like it was built in the early 80s - It even had a "Mercury Telecom" branded push button phone by the bed and the only power socket was by the TV but none by the bed to plug your phone into. My room overlooked the majestic vista of the A45 so was serenaded morning and evening by the not so distant rumble of tyres. Car park ANPR seemed to be pretty random and everyone was struggling with it.

Nice and quiet hotel near the NEC. In our room we sometimes heard little bit airport noise but no trains or highway noise and our window was always open. We had convention in Hilton and it was 20 min walk for us from Arden. Resort World is 10 min walk max if you go from main doors to highway and left there. Through rail station is little bit longer. Spa is quite small but pleasant. Towels are free, but you need one pound coin for lockers. Kids arent allowed to spa. You have to book the spa time in advance, but in my case it was 30 min before I wanted to go there and it was Saturday evening, so not very crowded. Also very convenient to go to airport: 15 min walk to rail station and free shuttle from there.

Fantastic location and beautiful entrance to hotel. Free parking for guests which is what made us choose it! Staff were nice: had a nice big bar and plenty tables in restaurant (didn’t use though). Room was comfortable & clean.

The shower overflowed as blocked. I used the pool etc but was disappointed the jacuzzi was out of order and the showers in the changing room were revolting! Black mould all around, no lock on door or anywhere private to change and a fan blowing cold air out! Such a shame the leisure area let it down as the rest of the hotel was lovely and clean.

Excellent choice for breakfast and quality food (£14 per head is quite high). Dinner was very good and well priced compared to breakfast. The hotel room was quieter than expected given that it is close to the rail line and airport. It is a very short walk to the NEC; about 15 minutes via Birmingham International station. As long as you leave by 2pm, parking is free for guests. The staff were professional and friendly and I will definitely use this hotel again.

This is not a criticism of the hotel but I drove past the entrance three times. It was raining so visibility wasn't great, and there are lots of roadworks in the area. This meant that my Sat Nav got very confused and as a consequence, so did I. I'd suggest you follow the signs to Birmingham International, double back at the roundabout and then look for the big, yellow sign that points to the hotel entrance. You can't miss it; yet I did, three times! :-)

The hotel is ideally situated for our concert at bp pulse. The bar and restaurant were fab and reasonably priced. The room we had was on side by the main A road and I have to have a window open (due to being of a certain age) so this what not ideal for noise from the road and the room was very warm so would suggest if like me and prefer a window open ask for a room away from the road. The bed was comfy although extra pillows would have been great but that’s a personal preference as the ones we had were very soft for me so maybe just a few others in the storage area of bedroom would have been great. We would definitely stay again though 😊
