The bed was super soft and the shower is really great! I was upgraded for free because I came in with crutches and they felt bad for me (there is no elevator and the stairs are steep). But I wanted to take home the blanket and the pillows because they were so good.
The window is thin and therefore it was a little cold in the room, the heater fixed that though! My shower door was broken so I made the entire bathroom wet, but that's also okay.

THE STAFF. Friendly, helpful, informative. Great guys, no doubt the impression was: “a bunch of friends”, rather than “co-workers”. We came just for one night, enjoying an amazing guitarist’s concert on the day of arrival. For just one night, “sleep, shower, breakfast and on you go” kind of staying, this place is enough.
Windows in the room. We could open only one, the one by the head of the bed. The room was more than warm, rather small (standard double), so we left a bit opened. One of us had to sleep with the risk of being exposed to cold air. Recommend either made the other window openable, or relocate bed.

Continental style breakfast was perfectly fine. The staff were helpful and welcoming
My only slightly negative comment would be that my room was on the small side but was clean and tidy throughout and was fine fir one night stay

I booked The Wellington Hotel for a friend, and she had a fantastic stay! Although the room was small, it was ideal for one person — cosy, clean, and thoughtfully arranged with all the essentials. She particularly appreciated the comfortable bed and the modern bathroom with high-quality toiletries. She couldn’t stop praising the location, as it was in the heart of Birmingham with almost everything within walking distance. Whether it was restaurants, shops, or local attractions, the convenience made her trip so much easier. Despite being so central, the room was quiet and perfect for relaxing after a busy day. She also mentioned how friendly and attentive the staff were, always ready to help and make her feel welcome. It was great to know she had such a positive experience, and I’ll definitely consider booking this hotel again for future trips!
One thing she did mention was that the room could get a little too hot at times, but this was easily fixed by opening the window. Of course, this would depend on individual preferences, but with the current weather, she found that a little warmth was much more comfortable than being too cold!

The hotel is very cosy, staff was really nice. Good pprice quality ratio. For me, the bed was comfy, but if you are into really soft mattresses, be aware that mine was more on the firm side.
Brekkie could've used some greens (cucumber, tomatoes) and a broader bread selection, but good enough. Room would benefit from a tall (full body) mirror and a shelf/basket in the bathroom. The stairs to rooms are really steep and narrow, so getting bigger suitcases to/from room is a pain. Not recommended for persons with any issues with their hips/knees. As per UK standard, there was a draft from the window. I could block it with my pillow, but if two person share the bed, the other is bound to feel it.

Ideal location for us as we were attending the O2 Academy which is across the road. Close to the Chinese quarter and to the train station. Slept really well as the bed was comfy. The drinks in the pub were reasonable and the staff very helpful and friendly. Needs some updating here and there but the rooms are clean and fairly well appointed.
The bathroom was small and was a bit awkward moving in and out of the shower. No wardrobe or anywhere to hang your clothes. The hotel stairs are steep so not suitable if you're not good on your legs.

The staff were really welcoming when I first arrived and throughout my staff. The room was a good size and it had everything you needed throughout the stay. The breakfast was a good variety each morning. Location was a 5 minute walk from the city centre which was really ideal too. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a hotel in birmingham.
I can't actually doubt anything about my stay. I would definitely book again on my return.

i was stunned by the family room, very large with 2 double beds. and a beautiful bay window. Lots of soaps, towels, coffee etc. Very good location for central and walking to the Utility arena.
The breakfast was very disappointing. we got up all excited for a lovely English hot breakfast but was only toast and cereal. "breakfast" is in the name of hotel, the reception man told us "come in the morning for breakfast", and the hotel has a full kitchen so it was expecting more than muesli.

I picked this hotel because it's near the O2 academy and it was very convenient. It was exactly as expected - a small single room, slightly shabby decor but the bed linen was spotless and the en-suite very clean. Hats off to the hospitality staff. The continental breakfast was included in the very reasonable price and just the job. The staff were welcoming and friendly and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Thanks to The Wellington 👍
Nothing, it was as expected.

The bar itself was a pleasant surprise, it was lovely, had a warm rustic feel to it so it was nice to have a drink in there before we went out. The staff were great and we were also situated on the top floor so it was very quiet to stay in, bed was comfy, pillows were good, no noise at all. We visited the Christmas market, so it was ideal not having to get taxis and everything being walking distance. It was perfect for a short stay and would recommend to others.
The room was very small and difficult to move around in, the furniture was close to each other and left tiny gaps to walk through. I think the room furniture could have been laid out slightly differently to help that maybe. The breakfast was a little disappointing as the cheese and ham were left uncovered and could see flys on it so didn't touch it, the bread and pastries were left open too and are left out for a fairly long time.. a simple cover would have fixed that issue. There wasn't any white bread, only brown and the coffee was empty.. But we ate, and it did fill a hole for the day and we were grateful the breakfast was included in the price.
