Very well presented with plenty of parking. Room was very nice and had the walk-in shower we had requested. It was rather warm but the fact it faced the sun over the afternoon is hardly the fault of the hotel. Evening meal was simply delicious with very professional staff - good menu with plenty of options. Breakfast was served to the table which was a lovely touch - more often than not these days it is semi buffet and served so a little luxury really. Decor, comfort, food - all excellent.

Water in the shower was a lttle sketchy temperature wise at bedtime - I know the room had very recently been revamped and expect this simply a small teething problem. In the morning it was perfect so the staff had obviously dealt with any issues overnight - another example of their great work ethic.

Good location for uttoxeter, which is where I was visiting Plenty of parking, and everything you need in one place. Lots of choice for breakfast and a nice bar area for the evening.

We were given a late access code for returning at night. We struggled with that as I can only presume someone beforehand had messed it up. If we hadn't of worked it out, we didn't have any out of hours contact numbers for emergencies. We weren't that late...around 11.30pm. Apart from that, a brilliant place to stay, and I do when visiting family in uttoxeter

Staff were really friendly and professional. Refitted bathroom and walk in shower. Space in the room for table and 2 chairs.Dog friendly, with access to a large area in the bar. Comfortable bed. Nice breakfast.

Furniture looked tired against the redecorated room and refitted bathroom. As we had a dog with us, we had to have breakfast in an area used as a walk through by other guests rather than the restaurant. The area was chilly and poorly lit. With people constantly walking through it was difficult to have the dog settle.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel provided a walk-in shower which we requested. Food, both breakfast and dinner, was excellent. For dinner we had an excellent choice of classic and more adventurous dishes. My wife's dietary requirements was also very well catered for. The room looked like it had been recently decorated and was very comfortable. Pleasant simple grounds to stroll in, and good parking. We will definitely stay again.

The Boars Head had character, the staff were very friendly, the rooms were clean. The TV in the room was an added bonus as was the tea, coffee and biscuits. There were plenty of parking spaces and lovely grounds. There was also a good choice at breakfast.

The decor looked a bit dated plus if you stay on the ground floor you experience noise from the guests staying in the first floor room above you, to the point were I had to use ear plugs to get to sleep.

Situated in stunning surroundings. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food was amazing, one of the best breakfasts. Really nice cosy bar area.

This is being picky but the only negative I would say, is need to update the rooms. We stayed in what is classed as a deluxe room. But the bathroom had some mouldy peeling grout around the bath and toilet area. The decoration could be better too. Like I say I am being picky, other than this, it’s a very lovely place and I would definitely stay again.

The food at both breakfast and evening meal where excellent. The team bar/reception/cleaners/waiters were all fabulous. The bed was so comfortable. Nice to have biscuits in room as well as nice table and chairs.

The room was a little hot, and opening the windows meant noisy traffic or smells from the outside system. It would also have been nice to have water in the room. However, this would not put me off, as everything else was great, and I would definitely book to come here again.

We loved everything about the Boar’s head - we ended up checking in late as we were at Scarefest for the weekend, but the staff were lovely & accommodating, even going as far as offering to put a food order in the kitchen for us! The room was so spacious & comfortable, the atmosphere of the hotel overall was lovely & we wish we’d had more time to enjoy it. The food & service for breakfast was just as excellent too, we really can’t fault the hotel or the staff at all. We actually ended up getting engaged after we checked into the room too, so we’ll definitely be back to stay in the future. 😊 Thank you!

Everything was great, nothing to dislike.

We are based on the South coast but have clients local to the hotel so it was the perfect location and over night stop. We were later arriving than expected but the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious and while the amount of meat we got seemed a little on the small side for a large roast, there was a huge supply of veg which made up for it. The portions were very generous and the price very reasonable. The room we had was cheap and did us for the one night we wanted but it was a little dated and the bathroom was a source of amusement. Whoever put the toilet paper holder 3 foot above the toilet has some serious issues. If you are sat on the toilet you either have to stand or reach up to get any - crazy. The bathrooms could definitely benefit from a refurb but otherwise, it was cosy and clean. The breakfast was delicious but there was one poor lass rushing around to service all the tables. As we were in a rush to get to our meeting she did her best and the food was really lovely. We would certainly stay again as it is so convenient, the food was great and the people were really nice.

We had booked a table for dinner but instead of being in the main dining room we were tucked around the corner which was ok but lacked a bit of atmosphere and we were some what neglected by the staff. My husband had to go up to the bar twice to order drinks and get the desert menu.

We booked at the Boars Head as we were attending a wedding at the (very upmarket) Grangefields a few miles away. The Boars Head was excellent. In particular the staff were, without exception, charming, proactive and helpful; while the food, especially from the Specials Menu, was innovative and beautifully cooked. We would certainly stay at the Boars Head again if visiting that part of the country.

The room was a little spartan although the bed was very comfortable and there was adequate seating.
