We enjoyed our stay at this historic pub (Maiden's Head, built 1446). We arrived from London at Canterbury East Station and found the pub a short walk away. It was not quite clear where we should get the key, as the booking was for the 'Maiden's Chamber', we went into the pub bar to inquire which turned out to be the right thing. Friendly staff and good food in the pub. We walked into the city centre via the beautiful Westgate Park beside the River Stour.

The upstairs room (accessed from the pub car park) has quite a few stairs which could be difficult for older guests, although staff were happy to help. The bathroom door didn't quite close and it was a little light during the night as the curtains were not blackout.

We (3x adults) booked this room for my hen do, as we were going into Canterbury for the evening. When we arrived we were greeted by a really friendly member of staff who showed us to our room and explained how to use the lights, food, bar etc. The room itself was huge!!! You could easily sleep 5/6 people, there was lots of room to get ready and fantastic lighting for doing make up and hair :) What was also great were the bottles of water, coffee, tea and milk (which were definitely welcomed the day after! Check out was at 10am, which was brilliant. Would 100% recommend and definitely stay here again!

Nothing, everything was fantastic

The room was clean and comfy. Had a nice big shower and big fluffy towels. Flat screen TV and a fridge for me to put in bottles. Free water. Better than expected, considering the price. Staff lovely and friendly. Great value

The location could have been nicer but that was reflected in the price. Hairdryer wasn't working. When I mentioned it, they hadn't been told and offered to get me another one. However, I declined as I didn't need it. I actually thought it was a great deal for the money.

Location was great - just outside the ring road but only a five minute walk to the cathedral. The pub that the rooms are part of was brilliant and the owners were really helpful. The beer was great too.

It is very difficult to be critical - the room was perfect but it is 'part of a pub' and more of a 'stop over' accommodation. It was clean, comfortable and ideal for our requirements on our way to the Channel Tunnel. Canterbury is a lovely town too. Our room was at the front - so faced the main road so it was a little more noisy than I assume the back rooms would be but it was a good place to stay.

This was my wife's favourite place to stay during our break. It was clean. It was also quiet, which impressed me given one evening there was live music in the pub below. By chance, they happened to serve my favourite beer from my student days, and I can assure you I did test it, although not in my student day style. The Inn is very well placed to explore both Canterbury and the surrounding area, being in walking distance of the town centre, well placed for driving, and very close to one of the railway stations.

The WiFi was a bit unreliable in our room: I think they Inn would benefit from setting up a mesh.

An exceptionally comfortable stay in a good central location. Good size room and spotlessly clean. Easy check-in and friendly staff. The room had everything that you need. How nice to have some bottled water in the room. Such a simple touch but lacking in many other hotels. Good location with everything that Canterbury has to offer just a 5 minute stroll away. Free on site parking.

There is some road noise during rush hours, but that is expected given the proximity to the centre of town. Currently no breakfast facilities and the highly rated food truck at the location was not open during my stay.

This place is lovely and in a great location. It's a 2-minute walk to the train station and a 10 min walk into the city centre. There is free onsite parking and it's on a bus route if you want to leave the car. There isn't any breakfast as the room is above a pub but there are 3 cafes within a 5 min walk. The room itself was large and well-equipped. There was a kettle, tea, coffee, iron, fan, and a fridge and the shower was great. Even though it was above the pub it was very quiet. The pub served great food, Greek and Mexican, and there is also a burger van in the car park if you fancy a bacon roll instead of a meal in the bar.

I liked everything.

Rooms are cosy, clean, and comfortable - especially the bed. Person who checked me in was very helpful. Pretty quiet in the building, even given the location by a main road. (Worth bringing ear plugs if you are a light sleeper to block out occasional traffic noise). As a solo female traveller, I also felt very safe with level of security and lighting at night.Highly recommend food at the pub. My lunch was great!

Was told the outdoor catering truck would be open from 7am as a breakfast option. (Breakfast not included in stay). Unfortunately, on both mornings, it was closed. Not a major issue, but it would've been nice to have been given updated information.

Charming old pub full of character, but with rooms above sympathetically modernised to provide decent facilities (good sized bathroom, air conditioning, large TV etc) and comfort. Our room overlooked the car park rather than the main road; there was no external noise and no noise from the pub downstairs. The pub does good Greek and Mexican food during the day and early evening. The property was three minutes walk from Canterbury East railway station, and handy for walking into town. I particularly liked the low level sensor lights which came on when you entered the property through a private door and walked upstairs - saved groping for a light switch.

No breakfast, but we knew that when booking. The host recommended an excellent cafe five minutes walk away.

Good location. Very good modern rooms above an old pub, all with seperate access rather than having to access via the pub. Rooms were quiet and had very good shower. Excellent breakfast van on the car park at the back of the pub - so enjoyed an egg and bacon sub in the morning!

We arrived tiered and hungry, with the intension of eating and having a drink at the pub, but the pub had live music and was very busy, so there were no available tables so unfortunately we had to rush and find somewhere else to eat.
