Beautiful property, great location to the Gorge, with 5mins you’re at the centre of the village and 2 mins away from a Tesco local if you need anything small. Loads of parking on site and lovely outside seating. The rooms are nicely decorated and well thought out and home some nice little touches. They include all the amenities you would need.

Nothing really not to like, just the rooms need a little tlc, a touch up on flaking paint etc. Our bathroom was nice and very big, but the shower felt like it was going to overflow out of the shower tray and the tiles by the entrance to the shower had sunk and moved. Slightly hazardous.

Parking - Easy. Check in - Easy. Room - Bright, clean and comfortable with lovely little complimentary snacks. Evening bar drinks and dinner - very good. Breakfast - lovely. Check out - Easy and complimentary bottles of water given to take on our forward journey. Was also allowed to leave our car in the car park whilst we went for a walk before heading off. All staff were well presented and friendly.

If I had to be picky I would say road noise, but not all through the night. We probably noticed it more than some as we live in a no through road in a tiny village, so never hear anything.

Great location in Cheddar, only a 10 minute walk to the Gorge & Caves. The room was of generous size, but a bit noisy as at the front of the hotel and on the road. Nice and airey though, and a great powerful shower, (with bath). Staff were friendly, polite and efficient, can't fault them, no issues there. Although we didn't eat in the evening because we were meeting friends in Cheddar for dinner, the Full English breakfast the following morning was a generous size and delicious, very impressed with it

For the price we paid for a Superior Room, we were a bit disappointed. The room had flaking paint on the ceiling above the bed and on the doorway to the bathroom. Luckily it wasn't cold as the radiator is hidden behind long curtains with little heat entering the room. That said, it's a lovely hotel overall and couldn't be placed better for Cheddar

Overall really friendly welcome and we would happily stay again when in the area. Great food at reasonable prices. Highlight was sitting by the log-burner on both evenings and enjoying the atmosphere! There was a small mix-up regarding our arrangements for dinner on the second evening which the hotel spotted and phoned us to discuss how to resolve. The fact that they phoned us (rather than us finding out) was excellent. And the (successful) efforts by the hotel (Murray) to resolve the matter were exemplary, Thank you to everyone for a fabulous couple of days.

N/A. Given the age of the building and local planning controls etc. the team did an amazing job

No problems really. Friendly staff. Good secure bike storage (Shipping container). Nice comfy rooms, great shower with more levers than I care to mention making it a bit of a head scratcher, hmmmmm, now how the bloody hell do this thing work?? Cant comment on the breakfast because we had to meet friends at 8 and breaky wasn't served until 8. However, we did have breaky later on at the Lillypool cafe which was great, highly recommended.

Ten quid for a glass of white wine was a bit steep, especially when we had just bought a bottle of red for £11 from the Tesco Express to give to friends that evening.

We enjoyed the friendliness of the staff and knowledge of local food and drink which was great when ordering. We enjoyed the cosy and personal environment and their consideration of nut allergies. The rooms were spacious with great facilities. Was a lovely night away and a real treat. Food was delicious and worth the price. Great selection of beverages as well and a lovely cosy fire to curl up next too. Rooms were kept nice and warm which was great after a long walk.

This is more of a personal preference we prefer a softer mattress but this does not reflect poorly on the hotel.

Welcoming. The lounge and bar area was relaxed, spacious and cosy at the same time. The whole place had a really good vibe about it. Lovely wood burners with nice chairs and sofas to sink into. you could sit in the bar area or the restaurant to eat the amazing food. my partner and I stayed for 2 nights and had dinner there both evenings. Great value for money. The portions sizes of both starters and mains were huge. The presentation of the food was fabulous. Great selection/choice for breakfast as well. Full English every time! We stayed in the kingfisher room. It was lovely. Had everything you needed. Complimentary nibbles and water. All the staff were attentive, chatty and made us feel so welcome. they couldn’t do enough for you. Set in a great location and walking distance to the attractions and access to lots of little shops, tea rooms and pubs. All in all 10/10! would highly recommend a visit and worth every penny to stay at the hotel. Thank you.

Staff were extra helpful with details like giving me a complimentary bottle of water for my return journey. I liked the fact that fresh milk was available in flasks for tea and coffee in the room and it was super convenient just to go downstairs to eat after saying in advance what I wanted to order. The location of the venue is spot on for walking. I found walks around the village outside of the gorge. That were circular and took in the village and some of the surrounding countryside. Lovely roaring fire in the bar area with comfy chairs and settees to settle into. Good selection of local ales. Deep bath and masses of really hot water for lounging. Plenty of staff who were all pro-active and happy

I’m afraid the bed wasn’t very comfortable. New mattresses required

You will never compare a stay to anywhere but Cheddar! We have stayed in countless places when visiting but The Bath Arms was the first on this occasion. The breakfast was fast on service and beautifully cooked, the staff were extremely polite and helpful, one particular staff member on our departure asked if we had a long drive ahead, which we did indeed (200 miles!) and offered us 2 bottles of water for our journey. A small act of kindness goes a very long way as that was not expected of her. The room was clean, warm and had everything we needed for our one night stay. Would 100% stay again!

Only issue was the intermittent WiFi connection. Other than that, would not be able to fault it!

Food was excellent, we had breakfast each morning and one evening meal all exceptional. Room very comfortable, everything needed was provided.

Only downside was road noise from passing traffic. It is situated on the main road through Cheddar and, as it was extremely hot during our stay it was necessary to have the windows open. However, it would not put us off staying here again.
