All staff were pleasant , well presented and friendly.

Breakfast not the best ....slab of scrambled egg was awful.... black pudding was tasty but like shoe leather after being stuck under a heat lamp.... Sausage and bacon not tried as looked like cheap basics....this hotel is not alone in this matter and I do tend to stick with hotels that offer a better quality start to the day.... again toaster did not toast ...what is it with those big silver monstrous things...??? The gym was smelly and needs airing and possibly cleaning....

We checked in just before it started snowing and were very warm and cosy in the hotel. The rooms are comfortable however our mattress has seen better days. Bathroom was spacious with shower over bath. I do prefer a room with windows that can be opened as was the case at this hotel. Full English Breakfast with fruit and yoghurts, very limitedd bread, toast, croissant choices. We had basics for dinner such as fish and chips and pie and chips which were very popular with the other guests as well. Lovely desserts !!

There wasn't a bar or lounge to sit in for a pre-dinner drink. Due to the weather we couldn't sit outside and found that a trifle inconvenient. A lovely lounge with a lighted fire would have made our pre-dinner drinks much more comfortable.

The room was spacious with a comfortable bed. Biscuits with tea/coffee tray were appreciated, as was the housekeeping. Room lighting good and curtains blacked out light well overnight. Reception friendly and offer of porter for the bags a good gesture. The gardens were generally well kept

Plumbing in our bathroom needed attention; tap loose on sink, shower temperature difficult to regulate. Bathroom foor tile loose. Chairs in room not comfy enough. TV lacked sufficient choice of viewing Would have preferred table service rather than self service for breakfast. The toaster did not function well. The garden, on the whole was pleasant, but some attention to it's upkeep could attract more visitors.

The room was gorgeous, exactly what I expected. We slept really well and the evening meal in the Coach House was excellent quality (not included in our room rate).

The room was a bit cold and the radiators didn't ever seem to get particularly hot, even when on but the staff provided a portable heater that did the job. The breakfast was average at best. It was included our room rate but our not in our friends' and they had to pay £15 each - it definitely wasn't worth that. It was buffet style and everything was luke warm, there was no choice of eggs and the hot drinks weren't hot.

The hotel is very good. Rooms clean and gardens lovelly. Staff freindl and helpfull

We were put up in a separte part of the hotel away from the main hotel. It seems this is a Wedding venue first and formost and we were not aware of this. We did not get a garden view. On ariving on Friday night there had been a wedding in the marque away from the hotel rooms. At 12.30 am the gusets started to arive back to the area where we were and the continuios door opening and clossing until 04.30 "no sleep". It seemed to us that we were in a different hotel to the wedding guests

This is a stunning building and the room I was given was very quiet and with a lovely view of the countryside. It was a very good size and the bed was huge and extremely comfortable!! The staff were exceptional and couldn’t seem to do enough to make my stay a good one. They were able to recommend restaurants in the area and ordered a taxi to get me there. On checkout, they were kind enough to help me with my bags from the room and down to reception.

Room on ground level for my elderly mum which was great. Room clean and comfortable and near my brother as requested. Bathroom fitted to a good standard. Breakfast was a reasonable selection - my brother enjoyed his fried breakfast and the pastries were very pleasant. Dinner was excellent - very enjoyable meal with no complaints - staff very attentive and pleasant. Gardens and hotel surroundings very pleasant - we enjoyed a walk around the gardens.

Breakfast - coffee and tea were tepid and coffee was bitter. Yoghurts were of cheaper quality, as was the fruit juice. I would prefer to have paid a bit more for better quality coffee (being able to order speciality coffees would have been perfect), yoghurt and fruit juice. The room was noisy in the mornings with road noise but very quiet in the evening.

We would definitely stay again, it's a very nice hotel and very convenient for family. The room was of an excellent standard and had everything we needed. We ate in the restaurant and the food was good.

This is not a spa hotel, it has a spa in the grounds that you are required to pay £35 pp extra for.This is a first for me, I like a spa so often choose somewhere with one but this is the first time I've been asked to pay extra. We also dined in the restaurant and witnessed a scene suitable for a Fawlty towers episode where people were unknowingly sat in the dog friendly area so when other patrons arrived with dogs all hell let loose, everyone was complaining and the staff just made things worse with their handling of it with management hiding out the back and sending a very young girl to deal with very irate customers. Didn't spoil our stay but the customer service was not great.

The staff was amazing on arrival and leaving the property. The bed was so comfortable and the bath was amazing too. The restaurant and again the staff shown great respect and service! The food was brilliant!

It would have been better if the tv was not stuck to the wall as we would have liked to use our Xbox but couldn’t plug the cable into the tv due to it being on the wall. We would have also like to use the spa facilities but they were on the expensive side of things too.

Clean,spacious,very nice evening meal choice,cooked to perfection and presented very good.The breakfast on first morning was very good and plenty of choice ie,hot and cold foods.The fresh fruit platter was presented very good with melon,berrys,orange,pinapple,strawberrys,grapes etc.The waiting staff were very friendly,helpful and polite. The Spa was excellent sauna,steam,bubble pools and relax areas.The treatments were very good and the therapyst was very profesional and friendly.The reception staff were very quick,friendly and helpful including helping us with our bags to our room.

If im being picky the bed was too soft for me but others may like a soft matress. The breakfast on the second day was sparce,the hot food was cold,overcooked sausage and undercooked bacon,no warm plates either and there was very little fresh fruit even though i was down early for breakfast. I prefer a continental breakfast my friend prefers a cooked breakfast,both of us were very dissapointed with our breakfast on the second day.Only stairs no lift.
