veggie option was good. Able to accommodate allergies. all staff were really helpful with our mixed dietary requirements. The room was well thought out and the bathroom was clean and modern, with good pressure in the shower. fridge in the room was useful

the pillows were massive but there were options available for this. The toilet and shower made a loud noise when being used, felt like it was possibly a pump? inevitably with rooms over a pub there was quite a lot of evening and early morning noise. the EV charger is registered to another address so not usable during our stay.

A lively characterful pub with comfortable, contemporary-furnished rooms and outstanding, cheerful, friendly and helpful staff. A clear favourite with walkers and welcoming to dog owners. Dinner was excellent, everything freshly cooked and nicely judged with some fantastic specials, and breakfast was great too, hearty and tasty. Ideally we should have booked a slightly bigger room but that's on us - the one we had was nicely decorated, well appointed and spotlessly clean, as well as quiet for a restful night's stay. We really enjoyed a short walk on footpaths around the village, and also visiting remarkable Renishaw Hall and gardens very near by.

For even more comfort, 100% cotton rather than cotton-poly sheets would be appreciated.

Room was uniquely decorated, not corporate at all, some really nice touches. Bathroom lovely size, we have lots of channel choices on the TV, including you tube Coffee machine really good and plentiful supply of tea/coffee and we were also offered extra milk. Fridge was a lovely addition too

We could hear a lot of doors opening and closing so quite noisy but this stopped later in the evening. You were overlooked in the rooms through all windows, including the bathroom so had to keep the blinds closed

Room very nice and well equipped. Lots of plug sockets Loved real milk in the fridge. Service good (but you have to compete with people at the bar)and menu in restaurant pretty fair. Good cocktails!

Room was very warm. Even the fan didn't cool it down. Looked like the windows were locked shut, but turns out there was a key to loosen the bolt in the frame.Hadn't been told about it and discovered it by accident. That helped but had both found it hard to sleep before that.

It was very nice to be waited on, however they where very quick to ask you which items you would like. A little too quick, as they had a lot of staff waiting on staff, waiting to attend the tables. I thought that was lovely, we had nice quality items, However the bacon was very dry due to storing it for long? As it was so quite in the dining room, surely it should be as fresh as possible to your table? I still maintain the high quality of food items matched the 1st rate delivery and service given.

Nothing! what not to like as 10/10 for = Service , staff , Hosting skills, Accommodation, Bedding, room service, The list just goes on. Enough to say we LOVED it and will be back.

The atmosphere was great, with fantastic staff who were in turn very well organised. The food in the Stag restaurant was excellent with plenty of choice, I would definitely recommend this property for a stay.

The room we had was the Classic double, it was quite small but the en-suite was a good size our only complaint was it was so hot. They had window locks but couldn’t find the key to open them, we should have asked except by the morning the room had cooled down and wasn’t an issue. That said everything you need was in the room, even a small fridge.

Staff- Always very helpful and great team spirit Food-Generally vey good with one exception (see below) Housekeeping-Extremely good . Room was spotless Parking.- Always managed to get a space over the 3 days I was there (but could be a problem ) Quiet-initially concerned as quite a crowd in on the first night and thought there may be a night of loud conversations and door banging but pleasantly suprised at how peaceful it was

Only thing I didn't like was the meal on the first night which was tandoori cod on top of curried potato . Fish was unacceptably dry and there was no delicacy of flavour . Tastes as though some curry powder was simply added. At £26 it needed to be perfect but it was anything but . I regret I didn't send it back . Instead I did not say anything it until I was asked, at the end of the meal, how the food was and I explained . To her credit the lady asked if there was anything they could do to put it right and I said no. So lessons on both sides there . However other than that I enjoyed the food very much Location isn't great if you like a wonder through a High St before or after dinner -there isn't one . Bit I knew that before I went . Definitely a country pub

Very welcoming and friendly staff. Excellent service. Spotlessly clean throughout and very tastefully decorated rooms. Good choice of foods, drinks and cocktails.

Our only two negatives were that there is no public lounge area which if you had a smaller room with no sitting area meant you had to sit in the pub where most people are at tables eating. Secondly, our room had a very small sink with a glass shelf above it which made it really hard to clean teeth, shave or wash without hitting your head on the shelf or spilling water everywhere. Book a larger room if possible. That said we managed and would still recommend a stay here.

The room was lovely size. Great view of the fields. Beautifully clean and quirky loved the furnishings. The bed was huge and comfortable. The netflix. Alexa. And fridge was a bonus tht we wasnt exspecting. 👍. Lovely big shower.. Luxury towels and a bathrobe and slippers to use.. Perfect. The whole place was beautifully clean and new. The staff went out of there way to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable. Nothing was toi much trouble we would 100% come back and stay here again. So thankyou staff fir making us feel at home 😊

We had seen a menu online tht we presumed was thee menu so we had decided our meals in advance.but when we sat to eat. the menu a sunday one which had slightly less chioce as the one online which we realised was the weekly one . It wasnt a problem as we still enjoyed what we had..was a little dissapointed when i realised the windows didnt open i know some seal them shut for safety.. But i like to know tht i can open it if i need too

Initial welcome was lovely, so friendly. Shown to our room, it was compact yet had everything we needed for a 2 night stay. Bed was comfy and the ensuite had a great size shower. Having been shown the other rooms, the suite is lovely as is Masons, we were in Bloom. Food at dinner was very good, delighted to find there was a choice of champagne by the glass. Breakfast was good - cereal, toast and full English or lighter options if that was too much. It is a very popular place and was very busy both on the Friday and Saturday so we booked dinner in advance, highly suggest doing that. Had a great ambiance.

A make up mirror in the bathroom would have been useful. As all the rooms are named after gins, it might be nice to have a gin treat in the room. I have stayed somewhere that did that, a tiny bottle of gin with mixer and nice crystal style glasses, was a nice touch.
