Staff are all excellent: friendly, helpful, courteous and professional. Very welcoming. The view over the hills and dales from the bedrooms is wonderful. Food is top notch and plenty of it. Would definitely recommend eating there even if not staying. Sunday lunch is marvelous and both the steak and fish are wonderful. The rooms have plenty of space and good storage although we would recommend taking a few clothes hangers yourself.

The sofa was a little soft/low for my personal taste (bit of a bad back) and the pillows are never like they are at home, but nothing was worn out or old.

Rooms were large and well furnished. Beds very comfortable. Nice amenities. Food in the restaurant was excellent for both the evening meal and breakfast.

Dining at the hotel’s on-site restaurant is a culinary delight, with delicious dinner options that cater to a variety of tastes, ensuring a satisfying end to our day. The convenience of free, easy, and ample parking accommodates guests with any car size, removing any parking hassles from the equation and making the arrival and departure process as smooth as possible.

Our journey to this secluded paradise did come with its challenges. The rural road leading to the hotel has been neglected for some time, requiring us to navigate with care and patience. This aspect might deter those not prepared for a somewhat adventurous drive. Additionally, while the hotel excels in providing a tranquil getaway, it falls short in meeting the needs of business travelers when it comes to connectivity. The slow WiFi connection is not conducive to quality online meetings, which could be a significant drawback for those needing to stay connected for work purposes like me.

The space was incredible, lots of room to move around & the view was peaceful. We had a standard room which was in the bottom block which we felt would be more private as the terrace wasn’t overlooked at all. We loved the little comfort touches of toiletries and real milk!

When I booked I struggled to see the difference between the standard & deluxe options so settled for the standard. The views are similar and both great. The only downside for me was the over the bath shower. I’m quite clumsy & climbing in & out wasn’t good for me so next time it’ll be a room with a walk in shower!

Location was about 20 mins from Chatsworth house in the middle of countryside with good views. The bedrooms are only 10 years old with two sofas coffee table small dining table and two chairs and chairs on little patio to sit out. Large bathroom with double sinks. Very warm and tea coffee and kettle with mini fridge in room. Breakfast was exceptional. Cereals fresh fruit toast eggs sausage bacon avocado smoked salmon grilled tomatoes fresh fruit juice and teas and coffee. Very good value for money. It’s a small Inn with newly built bedrooms a few minutes walk on the land. Not the place to book for dinner but excellent for breakfast.

The pillows were too hard

The location is stunning but a bit remote so not easy to get to if you don’t have a car. The service was faultless and there was a great selection of wine and food, we particularly appreciated the fresh fish options and the generous breakfast selection and portions. The biscoff, fresh milk and still & fizzy water in the room were a nice touch 🤩 Clean, spacious and comfortable.

For us, the shower was difficult to manage and flooded the floor.

Food was excellent, the choice at breakfast was all you could wish for and freshly cooked. We had the evening meal in the hotel both nights and it was delicious, good choice and brilliant service from the staff. Our room (6) was a junior suite and so very comfortable, spotlessly clean, towels were pure white and soft, beds and furnishings so clean. The furniture was good, modern and comfortable, the balcony was a bonus, lovely to sit out and enjoy the view. The gardens were a credit to the owners, meticulously maintained.

The heat in the room, even with the heaters turned off the temperature was high. There was a fan in the room and this helped. The rooms are in the garden and there is quite a distance to walk for someone with mobility problems.

Such a lovely place to stay, beautiful view from the rooms and very peaceful. We loved it and hope to be back soon. The owners are warm and friendly and work incredibly hard. Great location for us visiting Chatsworth and Hardwick Hall. Breakfasts were great, super range of options and dinners were beautifully cooked and presented. Really really good.

Nothing negative at all, elderly relative would perhaps have liked a handle to help her get out of the bath.

Breakfast excellent, prepared fresh for us. Beautiful fresh fruit salad with a variety of freshly prepared fruit including strawberries, blueberries, grapes, melon, apple, banana, raspberries. Main breakfast freshly cooked was exceptional. Poached eggs excellent. Quality of food excellent. Evening meal was very well cooked and tasty, nothing too much trouble to help.

Wine very good quality but rather pricey.

Lovely room, very spacious with a good sitting area & large outside terrace with beautiful views over the countryside. Very good food, well presented and a large choice of options.

We were given a disabled friendly room which we didn't require, the downside of this being we didn't have a bath in our room while our friends did in both their rooms. There was also a very bright fire exit sign over the door which made the room too light when trying to sleep. The pub closing at 10pm was also a downside as we would like to have stayed a little longer.
