Absolutely fantastic hotel in beautiful surroundings and gardens. Staff are super friendly and always happy to help. Breakfast was excellent as were the restaurant facilities and options if eating on a night. Based in the lovely small village of Cromford with easy drive access to other nearby hotspots.

Difficult to pick anything that was not to like as it exceeded expectations! If there were anything i would mention it would be that due to its grade 2 listed building, noise really does travel through the rooms easily. Doors closing, keys rattling in nearby doors, noise from hallways/rooms etc can be quite disturbing especially on nights. However that is just a consequence of a classic building - no fault of the running of the hotel and would not put me off from staying again :)

Hidden Gem in the heart of Derbyshire. Lovely Gardens. Lovely attention to detail. Staff welcoming & friendly. Paid extra to have suite. Room was huge & beautiful touches to the room to keep it in theme with the beautiful building. Lovely stay- just over too soon. Had a lovely meal in the evening as well.

Can't really fault much at all. Only things I would say is our room had beautiful roll top bath but included toiletries- nothing for bath. Perhaps some bath salts would be an added touch. Breakfast lovely but with some amazing local butchers in the area- sausage was small & a bit overcooked. Otherwise didn't want to leave.

Loved the location. All of the staff were fantastic with our 3 year old son, however want to mention 2 by name. Debbie was amazing, asking about his sleep and ensuring he had something he wanted for breakfast and even getting him his own pot of tea so he felt grown up. Laura was fantastic, she went out of her way to phone the room to let us know the dash camera was still turned on in the car so the battery didn't flatten overnight. Originally booked for one night but stayed 2. Jack was very helpful on the phone to get the reservation changed at short notice.

Would have preferred a double bed however that was our fault for changing the reservation the day before.

The building was beautiful, the gardens on the property were stunning, the room we stayed in was very comfortable and really well decorated. The bathroom was very clean and my partner is OCD about bathrooms in hotels and she was extremely happy which made the stay so much easier. The bar and dining room are classy and comfortable, and the breakfast was really nice with a great set menu, I also noticed the table next to us ordered something that wasn’t on the menu but were items listed on the menu, so I feel as though the chef would maybe be able to accommodate for fussy guest if you asked nice enough. The staff were very kind, polite and professional, the lady running the breakfast was excellent I did not catch her name but she was so helpful, checked up on the food and done everything you’d expect and more. All staff had lots of time for you if you had any queries or concerns. Overall this was a lovely hotel and would 100% stay there again and will also be recommending it to family and friends, we will hopefully return ourselves in the future.

convenient location to visit the Peak District. Cozy and pleasant room with excellent shower. Lovely breakfast and afternoon tea, and good to see normal prices at the bar. Above all very friendly and efficient staff who all made the stay really comfortable and relaxing.

Being a bit picky here as nothing really to dislike but a few thoughts would be: - more towel rail or hooks in bathroom as one small rail is a poor representative in what was a great bathroom - possibly one extra choice for self service at breakfast such as fresh fruits or small pastries - maybe an extra covered area just outside the lounge so that drinks could be had outside more often

From the moment we arrived until we departed, we were treated wonderfully. The room was fantastic, you can see how carefully they have renovated the rooms to a very high standard. Plenty of room, comfortable, my husband was particularly impressed with the rolltop bath! Food was excellent, breakfast and evening meal, with a great choice. The grounds were beautiful, lovely for a walk and sitting outside. The staff were very attentive and happy to chat.

Maybe a shelf in the bathroom to put your toiletries on, the only thing I looked for, but possibly I had too many items with me! It may well be that renovations are ongoing and this was still to be added!

I stayed in the attached holiday let next to the house, and had one of the best evenings away in ages. The waterfall shower in the en-suite was wonderful, and the bed was very comfy. I can highly recommend both the breakfast, which had a wide and varied menu and was wonderfully cooked, and the evening meal. I stayed on a Sunday night and had a roast pork dinner which just melted in the mouth. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the lounge area in the main house was very serene, and a great place to enjoy a drink and a book. I can highly recommend this property for a stay, and will be booking in for another stay very soon.

Lovely location and setting with large garden. Good sized, comfortable bedroom, with a big bathroom with bath. This room had obviously just been refurbished and was very nice and very clean. In-house restaurant was good: pub-sized dinner (i.e. big!), and nice breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful.

One minor thing: there was piped music in the small lounge - it was too loud to sit and have a quiet drink, although there was a garden party going on outside. Same playlist in the dining room in the morning too - at least it was quiet!

The location and character of Oakhill was excellent, the staff were attentive and very helpful. The gardens are beautifully maintained and even though we had some snow we still had to explore the grounds. On arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome and Oakhill feels like a home from home. In the morning we had a delicious breakfast with plenty of choice with a wonderful log burner to keep us warm. Fabulous.

There was nothing that we did not like about Oakhill. The only comment I would make is to book directly with the hotel as Booking.com charge more.

Stunning location, lovely hotel, beautifully decorated with an exceptional attention to detail. we absolutely loved the deco, bathroom was just spectacular. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. Very friendly and welcoming staff. The owner is just super friendly, makes you want to come back again!

The bed was gorgeous but the metal frame is not best when you want to relax in bed and watch tv. Perhaps additional cushions could be considered? We found the mattress quite hard. Long wait for breakfast but was worth it as the breakfast is delicious.
