Everything was how it should be clean and comfortable

The main thing for me was that we had to drink our coffee and tea out of paper cups. I hate this at the best of times but in a hotel there should be China mugs or cups.

The location is very good! It was about 15 minutes walk to Abraham heights and less than 10 minutes to the town. It was a nice little hotel. Has everything you need. I thought the bed was comfy but my partner didn’t agree. The staff left the windows open for us so it was nice and cool on arrival. There was a fan in the room which we really appreciated as it was a warm night! We liked that the continental breakfast was included in the price! It is a nice quiet hotel, although my partner was woken up in the night by some strange noises.

The room wasn’t the cleanest. The toilet was stained, there were hairs/stains inside of and outside the drawers. The furniture was a little dated, could do with updating. But other than this it was ok.

Arrived 15 minutes early and was given our room key straight away. Small room but fine for our over night stay. It was clean and well presented. Shower was very nice plenty of hot water whenever needed. In great location half way between Matlock and Matlock Bath so could easily walk to either. Lovely bar area and out side seating area very pleasant on a nice evening. Staff were very nice. Would definately stay again.

Sadly the coffee machine broke down at breakfast but the lady was very apologetic. The continental breakfast was fine would have been nice to have had a few hard boiled eggs and continental meats but the toasters worked and actually didnt burn it. Really can't find anything else that we didnt like.

Bathroom was very modern and the shower was lovely. The room was a little small for 4 adults but sufficient for what we required. The hotel bar was very small and not overly inviting but was nice enough and a fair few drinks available.

The continental breakfast wasn't very continental. Only offered toast, cereal and croissants. One jam, marmalade & butter. No cheese or meats on offer either. It would be nice if they could offer more variety of jams and even some marmite/nutella etc. plus additional pastries, and maybe even some pre-wrapped cheese.

The location was good for our trip; easy walking distance into Matlock. The price of the room with continental breakfast was the cheapest in the area. The room was clean with lovely thick white towels. There was plenty of choice and branded (Kellogg’s) cereals for breakfast. on-site car parking is available

Room 8 is a very small twin room; beds were adjacent. The two staff that we met were ok, did their job, but no friendly/welcoming chat. No-one was about when we checked out so we just left the keycard on the reception desk. Paper cups are provided for hot drinks at breakfast. The decor in the hotel is very tired.

Location is great - midway between Matlock and Matlock Bath. Had a lovely room on the top floor which was big enough for our short stay. Comfortable bed and plenty hot water in the shower. Had a plug in heater which was handy as no heating came on. Breakfast was great, continental was ample though partner had full English breakfast on two of the days we stayed. I'm gluten free and gluten free bread was provided

Shower could have been cleaned better, a good scrub of the grout and a bit of bleach would sort it out. Some storage/shelving in the bathroom would have been helpful too

Lovely hotel, small patio area and car park. Beautiful views and only a short walk into Matlock Bath. Our room was a little small but with two Velux windows it was very pretty and really nice shower and bathroom.The bed was comfy and perfect pillows 🥰 . We had a few drinks in the bar and everywhere is very clean and well decorated. We had the continental breakfast and there was plenty of choices and it was a nice area to eat in. For the price I think it was a bargain and plan to visit again in the near future.

The hotel was right in the middle of walking distance to either Matlock Bath or Matlock, approx 15 min walk. Staff were great Room looked like an attic conversion so a little on the small side but was clean and adequate. Room was quiet and bed was comfy

Nothing really There was not much height on the velux window side of the bed but my partners only short so it was ok. My endless gripe with 'Breakfast included' If it is continental please say so. Bit of a downer to find a cooked breakfast was chargeable (£7.99) If its continental in the price .... say so. Decent bar and plenty of choice. Loads of outdoor seating.

The hotel is well situated between Matlock and Matlock Bath, so in easy walking distance. The hotel owners are very welcoming and friendly. We stayed in room 2 which was very spacious, we had a suite which had its own hallway with the bedroom to the right and shower room to the left. The food in the restaurant was lovely and the bar was well stocked.

The decor was a little tired, but it didn't spoil the stay. Unfortunately the restaurant wasn't open all the time we were there,but there are lots of places to eat either in Matlock or Matlock Bath.

Very pleasant staff. Nice room and bathroom. Would've been nice to open the window but the room temperature was pleasant and fans/heaters were available if required. Good location for the town. We had a nice curry in the restaurant and made use of happy hour. Drinks are generally expensive in all the venues in town.

The continental breakfast was a bit basic but adequate.
