Very comfortable room - small but adequate for a single person. Facilities all good especially the tea-making equipment and biscuits so welcoming upon arrival after a long day's drive

Unfortunately I did not get to enjoy the extremely appealing breakfast as it was available too early for my liking - presumably in order for guests to be able to finish and be away by 10:30. When - if ever - will British hotels and B&Bs emulate their Continental European peer, almost universally making breakfast available until 10:30 or sometimes 11:00 with checkout allowed until noon? The same criticism applies to the evening meal - finishing far too early to be relaxing and enjoyable instead of around 22:00 in France, Spain, Italy, etc. As for as long as I can remember (60+ years), British hospitality establishments appear to make the rules to suit themselves rather than their paying clients!

Breakfast was always very good and ready for you. Staff very friendly and ready to help. very comfy bed and clean room. Our evening meals were Lovely. Great location. Very Motor bike friendly. Even had a drying room for our outer clothes.. great idea.

The evening meals in the restuarant were a little manic. our first evening meal it took us 20 mins to be seated, although we had been booked in. The eveing staff were very disorganised. We had 3 different members of staff come to our table. One member of staff asked us what we would like to drink but was unable to serve us. seemed a bit pointless. The second evening was much better.

The lounge and bar area were beautifully decorated and the service was great. The team was very welcoming and friendly. Liked being able to choose the breakfast times and items cooked to order. The location was perfect for our mini break - close to Snowdon and all the activities we had booked with plenty of shops and places to explore nearby.

Ventilation in the rooms not so good with two small windows and the extractor fan in the bathroom wasn’t brilliant. The room felt muggy after showering. There’s a real difference in decor between the bar and restaurant areas and the bedrooms. Car park was a pain to get in and out but we found on street parking nearby.

The hotel is in a great location with amenities a few minutes walk away and easy access to trail routes. The room was a great size and the en-suite was lovely and modern. It has all the character of a Victorian property but has been modernised to a great standard. Bar staff were very friendly, polite and the outdoor area was a nice addition. It does not have a “garden” but there is some great decking with ample outdoor seating/tables under cover around the rear of the property.

Not a dislike, but visitors should be aware of the limited parking for this hotel. We were fortunate that we did not struggle for a parking space, but I assume that on busier periods and should the hotel be full, that not everyone would be able to get a space. There is parking over the road but this is charged.

First trip as a lone traveller, and I couldn't have picked a better place. This is a lovely, tastefully decorated hotel currently undergoing further improvement but at no disturbance to the guests. My room was beautifully clean, cosy, and comfortable, the bed in particular! Everything in the room was as detailed in the description, and everything worked as it should. The lounge/dining area was very spacious and comfortable. I spent time here having a drink and reading. I ate breakfast and dinner here too and both were delicious and reasonably priced. All staff were very friendly and welcoming. Car parking was a little tight but mainly due to the workmens vehicles. I was lucky to get a space, but there is plenty of parking nearby. The surrounding area is stunning, and its location makes it central for popular North Wales attractions. On top of all this, the weather was pleasant!! Thank you for making my stay so comfortable, Gwydyr Hotel. Highly recommended!!

I didn't like having to leave. I wish I'd stayed for longer than 2 nights!!

We had a fabulous weekend, thank you! Super helpful and friendly staff who checked in several times to see if there was anything else they could do to help. The food was good, being able to pre-order breakfast was handy and efficient, the location is excellent and watching England get a win in the 6Nations with a table that had been reserved for us added to the stay.

Parking is limited on-site but there's lots of free options really close by and staff are quick to advise you if you're struggling. The kids loved that it was a dog friendly hotel, but I wish I'd thought about that in advance as our room did set my asthma off for that very reason. Let me be clear though, the room had absolutely been cleaned properly.

It was lovely inside, room comfy with tea and biscuits in room. The staff were lovely and helpful and location great for walks and going to other places exploring beauty of Wales

Small car park. Which can’t be helped. Just if u didn’t arrive early or were lucky enough to get space, u would have to park somewhere else. Also with cars parked, it could have be awkward to try and get out of car park to navigate around other cars and reverse out on to main road

This was our second stay and there isn't anything to not like. Really happy with the Gwydyr and would recommend it to anyone especially dog owners as they give you a doggy goodie bag on check-in and a chopped up sausage for breakfast. Jacque or Jackie who checked us in was great, really friendly and helpful. Rooms are really nice and a good size. Good food and good ale.

No issues as such but car parking spaces are limited so it's pot luck if you get one. Other than that, there is nothing to not like, it's all good.

I loved my stay so very much first time round ,with my partner, for her birthday, with its wonderful ambience, excellent staff and and a fabulous bar and restaurant that I inadvertently booked it again four months later for our ‘Road Trip of Wales’. Unbeknown to me that we had stayed there previously only months later. Ladies. It’s a man thing! Committed now every six months 😘 It is a wonderful, wonderful place to stay in the most beautiful of setting. Believe me 👍

Friendly, attentive without being overbearing. Lovely food, setting and furnishings. Fabulous location near to train station and local amenwithout being disturbed by passing traffic or footfall.

I would have preferred larger towels (bath sheet) but in fact the towels were more than adequate being fast drying and comfortable. I wish I’d brought my own pillow ( forgotten preference) as I found the hotel ones too synthetic but my husband slept very well.
