The location. The Radley bar and shuffleboard. Very friendly young man working there and we could watch football match there and eat pies which were nice. The cooked breakfast. Especially good mushroom. Lots of choice of cooked items. The fridge with fresh milk and water in the room. The soft towels. General comfort. The young man that served breakfast 2 or 3 days very polite.

The fire alarm which gave me a headache as it couldn't be turned off one morning.Was started by someone's shower. The coffee maker in room as kettle would have made better tea. The draughty bathroom window. The people going over cobbles outside window with cases or trolley waking us up at 7.. The last breakfast server on Friday. She was too busy and did not bring fruit salad out until cooked food eventually brought out by chef. Also think fruit should be readily available not just by request. The additional food item added to our bill which we did not have. The young lady did take it off but unfortunately she still made me feel as if I was lying about having had it. This didn't make a good end to what was otherwise a pleasant stay. This is why I rated staff lower she let the team down .

Everything from the warm welcome on arrival from Macy, a nice lunch enjoyed in the bar area at a window table on our arrival after a long journey getting there. Room comfy and clean, we were in the annexe room 18, beautiful shower room (good shower). Breakfast nice the next morning served by another helpful staff member Josh. Would definitely stay here again. Great kerb appeal and beautiful ambience inside.

We wished the super comfy double bed was king size as the room was big enough to accommodate one, my husband is 6'1" and we just found it a bit snug as we're used to a king size bed at home.

The room was nicely decorated with a modern bathroom and walk in shower. We really liked having a good coffee machine and fresh milk kept in a little fridge. There were also biscuits in a small jar rather than plastic packets. As we had mentioned it was our anniversary we had a lovely plate with small cakes on our arrival in the room which was a really nice touch. We had a really enjoyable dinner in the hotel restaurant.

The mattress dipped a bit and the service at breakfast was a little slow. It would be better to be able to help yourself to coffee and tea rather than wait for it to be served. The breakfast was delicious though. The bathroom needs an extractor as the tiled floor became very slippery with condensation when using the shower.

Pretty nice place. Modern interiors. Lovely large bathroom with walk in shower. Very comfy bed my husband said. A bit soft for me. We upgraded as a treat. Very busy restaurant but the lounge/bar caters well for hotel guests. Not noisy, apart from the creaky floorboards, but then it is an old building. Nice breakfast buffet (however it took 2 days to realise the cheese and ham is tucked away in a mini fridge!). Good tasty cooked breakfast with options.

The staff were very friendly. However there didn't seem to be enough of them. Issues around people waiting to be checked in/out meaning the poor girl in the breakfast lounge area was rushing about like a headless chicken. However we were very well looked after otherwise.

The location of the venue was ideal, located on a main road through the town with easy access to nearby shops, bars etc. The room was incredible and exceeded all expectations - I stayed at the venue the night before my wedding with family and friends, and all 4 rooms I booked were fantastic. The staff could not do more to assist and accommodate everyone and were up for laughing with us too. We ate at the restaurant for our evening meal and the food was gorgeous, having had the starts and main. The portions are a good size so we didn't have room for dessert! There is a free car park at the back of the hotel so everything felt secure and out of the way. Highly recommend and I will be coming back here with the hubby to celebrate our 1st anniversary!

One of the rooms was smaller than the other 3 but honestly, this didn't make a difference to us! Absolutely no effect on the rating!

In one word... Everything! The room was clean and well provisioned. The hotel was ideally located for our stay. The breakfast was really good and set us up for the day. Last but definitely not the least are the staff who were very helpful and a credit to the hotel. Thank you for a lovely stay and can't wait to come back.

If I was being really picky I'd say that when we used the shower the floor in the bathroom got wet and slippery. We ended up just putting towels down, of which there were plenty, to stop the water spreading.

The hotel, rooms, food and staff were all excellent and very good value for the standard of the whole experience..

Unfortunately the stay was somewhat let down by breakfast. We entered the dining room to a scene of chaos. The tables had not been cleared or reset and we had to sit at an uncleared table for a while. The the serve yourself section had milk and cold meats containers that were empty. Clearly a case of staff shortages, but an unfortunate end to our stay..

Everything .couldn't fault anything

Absolutely brilliant .stayed new years eve had 2 rooms .me and the hubby and one for the grandson. We were so pleased with our rooms .clean .Comfy .shower amazing and the bed was to die for .wish I could have taken it home .staff so friendly the guy who checked us in .sorry didn't ask your names and the lady who checked is out .the resturant staff so pleasant to .can't fault any thing and breakfast was lovely .cheers to the chef .so thanks for the stay really loved it 100% would come again .

Good location and lovely decor within hotel.New it was wife's birthday so left a decorated plate in room with birthday card from hotel,nice touch.

Being our third visit in just over a year was disappointed with service at breakfast.was approached on restaurant and asked for tea and coffee.sat there 20 mins before being asked again as to what we wanted for breakfast while watching others come in after us and being served there breakfast before us,when breakfast did come beans were cold ,told waitress and then waited another 10 mins for replacement by this time tea was cold .was disappointed not only because it was birthday treat for wife but having stayed twice previous standards were higher.

Friendly receptionist made check in easy. Room was cold due to bad weather and staff were pleased to sort out heating for us. Great shower in big modern bathroom - loads of hot water. Good breakfast options, all hot food freshly cooked to order and promptly served. Fresh milk in minibar for tea/coffee was very welcome.

Evening meal was ok, but eating in the almost empty bar was a bit soulless (restaurant not open mid-week). Soft mattress on bed was a let-down, but that's more a personal preference.
