Stayed for one night on our way back to Yorkshire from Norfolk. Arrived about 5pm and whilst it’s a busy pub/hotel got a parking space with no problem. ?Billy checked us in and showed us to our room on first floor and carried one of the cases. (No lift) The room was by no means ‘luxurious’, was compact but perfectly adequate for a short stay. Both room and bathroom were clean with nice toiletries. Plenty of tea/coffee/milk. The complimentary breakfast next morning was lovely with cereals, yogurt, toast, croissants and fresh fruits and is served till 11am! I’d say the biggest asset of this hotel is the staff, Billy and everyone else from bar staff to breakfast staff were very cheerful and helpful. Would stay here again if in the same situation and just needing somewhere to break up a journey home

Greeting & checking in by Lenny was friendly & efficient. Room No1 was a good size, clean & very comfortable. We had 2 excellent nights sleep. Location was perfect for Moorways Stadium. Continental breakfast was ok, bit stodgy. We preferred the small cooked breakfast we had the next day even though we had to pay extra. Restaurant food was excellent & nice that we had the choice to sit in the restaurant & not the bar. Secure car park was also a plus. Locked at night & opened early in the morning. Would definitely stay again.

We're not a big fan of Continental breakfasts in general.

our room was very small and not really enough room for us to put our things. only one plug socket at low level. the other was an extension on top of a shelf which wasn’t ideal and has to stand on a stool to reach. noise from bar in the evening but we still managed to sleep easily. walls were pretty thin and could hear next door coughing like he was in the room with us.

Staff where friendly and helpful, Close to where my location was for Donnington park, bar was nice, restaurant was good, room was small but cosy and had tea making facilities, shower was nice and hot and powerful, bed was comfortable, room was nice and clean, good value for money

Couldn’t park in car park as was used by people going to the pub in the evening, a little noise from the pub at night time as room is above the pub, bathroom needs few shelves or unit to put your toiletries in there was nothing to put anything on

The staff were really plesant, checking us in and showing us our room and at breakfast. The room was basic but for the price it had everything we needed and was clean, although it was a bit stuffy. Arrived late so did not try the evening food. The continental breakfast was very good and somewhere I did read that we could have a cooked breakfast but that it was extra, but we didn't want one, so that was fine. Good location for us as just off A50 and easy to find.

Must admit we did not realise there was a large pub attached with entertainment, so it was noisey (Friday night) and parking was a bit tricky, but so tired went straight to sleep as the bed was very comfy, even with the noise, but may have been different on another day.

Staff were friendly, I stayed in the main building whereas my friend with separate booking was in the family suite which he found very noisy due to the beer garden not far from his room. The bathroom was of a very high standard and TV a good size. Location has lots of Supermarkets nearby and other pubs as an alternative for evening meal.

It is a busy pub, especially as it was sunny so lots of drinking in the garden. Not too much parking when the pub is busy with drinkers. For the price I would have expected an English breakfast, not just continental with English charged extra.

Excellent customer service. I was on work and needed a place to crash for the night and save 4 hrs of driving. The Lawns Hotel came up as a nice place to stay and hence I booked it. It was reasonable close and was easy to get to. The staff were extremely friendly and provided great service. When asked for dinner, the agreed even though the kitchen was due to close very shortly. They asked the chef to wait and took my order for dinner. I thought that the meal was a tad expensive until I saw it. The food tasted great and the portion was fairly large. Having had the meal, I felt the price was justified for it tasted great. Everything was cooked just as I had requested. For a Sunday evening, the place was quite busy and I think that there was a party going on at the back. However, after having eaten, I just went to the room and crashed out. Had a great night's rest and no noise interruptions from the party. Filling up on the meal and being exhausted also probably helped. I did not have time for the breakfast in the morning and had to rush. The staff were very helpful again, expediting my paperwork so that I could away on time.

Maybe the fact that the kitchen was closing early (1800ish in the evening is early to me). I'm just wondering what would have happened if I had turned up after the kitchen had closed. May have had to go elsewhere?

great location and great staff

Staff were extremely accommodating and lovely to talk to can't fault them at all. We're vegan and although nothing on the menu they were able to accommodate and the food was great! Room was extremely clean and we're offered sheet changes etc throughout our stay.

Had to update car parking everyday, setting an alarm to remind us to do it online, would be easier to give car registration and length of stay. (Although believe this is managed by a 3rd party so no fault of the hotel)

Very friendly staff provided a personalised service throughout, even when the bar was very busy. Comfortable night’s sleep.

The bathroom sliding door with the massive gaps. Room was quite small which is fine, but there was metallic bird art that was actually quite sharp and hard to avoid walking into in such a small space! We also didn’t like that the breakfast is continental and you have to pay even more for cooked breakfast. The continental was nice (think supermarket pastries heated up) but would have preferred full cooked breakfast to make the stay excellent value for money.
