We love the hotel, it is in a beautiful setting, the cottages are dog friendly and have easy access to outside. The bed was super comfy. Bathroom was excellent with great shower, and complimentary toiletries. We loved the Derbyshire tourist book to get ideas of where to go. Our second time back here and would certainly recommend.
The only thing is that their was a wedding in the house which didn’t bother us at all until it was pick up time at midnight, there were lots of cars and people coming and going for about an hour, people shouting outside, which upset our dogs, so may just a heads up that there was a wedding during our stay we could have prepared for it. But other than this it was great!

Friendly staff, I feel they do go above and beyond to make your stay the best that it can be. Dog friendly. Very clean room. The hotel was spotlessly clean. The drive down and the area are very picturesque Best shower Best scrambled eggs There are plenty of options for breakfast and the fact that you can decide how much or little you want so there is no waste is a great idea. Great grounds for walking the dog. Overlooking the river Trent We will definitely be booking again. It is an old building and yes it is tired looking in places and going on old reviews some people just don't appreciate that these buildings take some looking after and the owners are doing their best, therefore I feel they have priced it right. It is architecturally amazing.
Old carpet (stains) in the room but it was hovered well. Coffee at breakfast was not palatable at all but they did bring me peppermint tea when I asked.

The room was a great size, it was lovely and warm. The staff were very friendly and made is feel right at home. This place has beautiful rooms, the decor is stunning and very tasteful. It was warm, clean and had everything we needed. Beautiful little place 5 minute drive from the airport. Will definitely be using it again before our flights.
I'm aware the rooms are old and the odd creaky floorboard is part of the charm but it was pretty much every floorboard the creaked and we almost didn't want to move around at all so that we didn't disturb the guest below us. I'm not sure what's involved in amending this but if it's possible then I think that'd be a much welcomed change as I can't imagine it was great for the people below when we were moving around to leave at 5am, even when we tiptoed. It wouldn't put us off staying again but I thought it was worth mentioning for the comfort of the guest both in the room and below.

The Executive Suit was massive, very clean. Access was fine for me, but climbing 2 fights of a circular staircase may be a challenge to guests with restricted mobility. View from the room at the top of the tower was very nice. Breakfast served from 07:00hr, which suited my race schedule, very good selection with vegetarian option to the cooked breakfast. Evening meals of a good standard with very nice staff in the bar area. My activities in the area were based at Donington Race Circuit, and for this the hotel location is excellent, circa 12mins.
The hotel decor is a little tired and dated, but conversly you could say it adds to the 'charm/character'.

Easy to find, sign posted. Set in a beautiful location Riverside , really picturesque. Nice entrance into reception. Helpful and polite staff.Plenty of free parking. Very quite and peaceful. Easy access to airports and local town castle donnington. Good strong WiFi. Overall.... a nice stay.
Stayed in an executive standard suite. Room was slightly outdated. TV was big enough for the room but could do with an upgrade ( not a smart TV, couldn't access any netflix ,amazon prime etc). There was no information pack or any details about what the hotel offers. No indication of any menus for the resturant or bar. Bathroom also could be updated slightly. Silicon showing signs of failure and tiles need regrouting.

We had a fantastic experience during our stay! The surroundings were stunning, and we enjoyed taking a leisurely walk along the river. Our visit was centered around the world superbikes, and it was an incredible experience! The biking track was a short drive away, and we were warmly welcomed. The dining and drinks were exceptional! The bartender was delightful, attentive, and engaging, while the waiter was polite and pleasantly surprised us by pouring our drinks. The rooms were charming, and having a bath was a delightful bonus! Overall, our stay was wonderful, and we are looking forward to returning next year!

the building, the location, the setting, the food was all lovely and it was motorcyclist friendly.
we were in one of the cheapest rooms so didn't expect a view, there was a wedding reception going on so the noise from that was actually remarkably muted. what was a little disappointing though perhaps not totally unexpected given the reasonable price and all the other positives was the noise of air-conditioning extractors outside the windows perhaps for the kitchens, it did get turned down late in the evening so we were able to sleep, but it spoilt being in the room in the evening. fortunately the setting and other amenities were nice so we didn't feel we had to be in our room

Stunning building and location. So relaxing. The dining room was beautiful, the tables laid out beautifully for breakfast and the buffet breakfast was fabulous. Just the right amount of choice with exceptional quality pastries and cooked breakfast selections. Real fruit juices. All the small details which make everything so much better overall. The staff were very friendly and professional. We stayed in one of the cottage rooms. The bed was comfortable. The room was very clean. High quality bedding. The shower was great. If I had to pick at anything it would be the dark gloomy furniture in the room. It would of lifted the room with some nice cottage type furniture.

Nice location near the river. Room had all expected amenities, good shower over bath. Nice lounge with very comfy chairs. Good standard breakfast fare, well presented and served in well appointed breakfast room.
Air conditioning not working and was advised not to open windows, due to large number of flies from river. Very large desk-cum vanity unit, which took up valuable space in a compact room. Very limited menu for evening meal, served in the bar, also bar staff had difficulty in understanding order, which led to frustration on both sides.

The setting is beautiful and tranquil and the staff were very hospitable and friendly. Although we had a dog with us and understandably could not bring her into the breakfast room, the lovely staff were quick to accommodate us in the restaurant area that was perfectly comfortable.
We ate dinner at the restaurant as we did not want to drive out. The atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely and the staff were great. We did feel that the dinner was overpriced for the quality.
