The staff were so friendly especially Christine who went out of her way to make us feel welcome. The bed was comfy, the linen clean and the towels fluffy. The complimentary breakfast was a real bonus. Terrific value for money.

You definitely feel like you are stuck in a time warp! In fact, little has changed since we stayed here in the early nineties. The rooms are dated but clean and not having a lift might be a major problem for some. That is all about to change we believe and we look forward to seeing what the new owners are going to do with somewhere we have very fond memories of.

The breakfast was realy good as was the meals that we had and the staff were well manared and helpful ,any problems we had are anything that we required was sorted out very quickly .we will be coming back as the location of the hotel is central to where we need to be to see some family and friends and ideal for motorway connections for trips out .

I found the bar a little expencive ,it would be nice to see deals on the doubles and also NO GUINESS ON DRAFT OR BOTTLES ............PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SORT THIS OUT FOR ME . Thankyou .

Booked at short notice, I would never have found this out of the way hotel without Booking.com. Did very nicely for a business overnight stay between customer visits. Staff very helpful, Free Wi-Fi worked well. Only one small hand towel was provided in the room, but as I came out the door to go down to reception to ask, I encountered somebody with the housekeeping trolley who immediately provided me with a larger bath towel - so good prompt service to rectify a problem. Nice buffet style continental breakfast included, presented by a lady with a smile which is always a good start to the day.

Decor is a little tired, but clean enough and fit for purpose. Shower temperature a bit variable, probably overdue for an update.

Friendly staff at reception. Comfortable bed. Got what we paid for but think it needs updating after being shut for over 12 months. This hotel has potential but grounds are too big for a small 56 room hotel. Nevertheless we still had a good time and would return.

There is nothing around. 1.2 miles to the closest pub 4.5 miles away to chorley which cost around, £30 taxi return be aware taxi takes you the longest way around so adds an extra £8 on. Just wished they had patio furniture out so you can enjoy your drink better than just sat on an old bench.states full English breakfast on booking.com but was only offered continental ,£8 to upgrade would like to see ham and cheese as well instead of toast cereals and yoghurt but like I said you get what you pay for 😀

I loved the fact that the staff were extremely helpful, and accomodating to us from the moment of arrival to leaving the premises. It is very rare that staff will ensure your stay is to its best, but the following people below deserve a bonus in their wage. The only thing I didnt like, which wasn't the hotels fault was the hotel room being very warm, simply due to the heat.

Good value for money.

Rooms should be sound proofed. You can clearly hear conversations through the walls which is quite an inconvenience late at night or early in the morning if you're trying to sleep. The shower mixer valve wasn't stopping the water fully so it was constantly dripping. Seal around the shower screen was allowing water to sip through which led to water puddles on the floor after every use of the shower. Change the sink taps to mixing one.

I was given the key card and was told not to place by phone as they interfere with each other. I made sure I did because last time we stayed it happened. I had come down to the bar to meet my partner and when we went back up to the room the key would work I placed it and light was Green the turned red so I had to go back down to reception to get it re programmed which is a pain

The hotel is being refurbished after being closed for a while Some facilities are unavailable but will be coming on stream gradually. The staff were very helpful and our rooms were very clean and spacious. The price was good which was due to the current issues. I would expect this lovely place to jump up in price when the work is complete.

Lift out of order, limited food options.but these will be improved soon.

Big family room. Compact bathroom, brilliant shower, easy to use, hot water flowing. Good size TV. Good selection for breakfast, self service a very good idea.

Through Booking.Com we paid £100 more than we would have paid if we had booked directly. In the middle of refurbishment so some teething problems which will be sorted out next time we go.

The location was in a lovely area, I thought it was a bit closer to Chorley than I imagined as we do not live in Northern England. otherwise lovely, even with the extra couple of miles , smile.

Have already stated this, but as far as the hotel was concerned there was not a thing that I could honestly say we did not like.
