The friendly and helpful staff especially Ashleigh and Olivia on reception who helped us with our bookings. They were very understanding of our situation as we were booking daily to accommodate the impending arrival of our granddaughter in Clayton le Woods. Beverly looked after us at breakfast and was great! The rooms were very well equipped - clean, fresh and comfortable.

Breakfast was rather disappointing in that it is buffet style. The hot food had been clearly left to stand for a long time and was therefore a little unappetising. Possibly a more varied choice would be appreciated as well - fresh fruit salad and museli for instance. It was very basic for a AA 4* hotel.

The hotel is in a beatiful location just outside Shrewsbury. The room in the lakeside wing was very spacious and comfortable. We had an evening meal, which was tasty. The leisure facilities were very good, although the swimming pool is rather small and was cold. The gym is excellent.

The swimming pool was quite cold. The breakfast was a bit of an ordeal. We did not arrive until 9.00am and then found that the breakfast rooms were spread across three different locations, which made getting a members of staff to provide tea/coffee was problematic. The cereal choice was limited and they had run out of yoghurt. My wife asked for scrambled egg but getting that combined with the rest of her breakfast involved her in multiple trips to the breakfast area to get what she wanted. The manager needs to look at the logistics of how breakfast is organised, particularly in view of the multi-room locations.

Very pleasant staff in all areas of the hotel, they are a credit to the hotel. We paid to upgrade to an Executive Room which was very comfortable, dinner and breakfast were very good.

On our arrival into the room (232) we found that the handsoap had completely run out by the sink in the bathroom. We went back to reception to report and advised this would be sorted. We completely understand the reasoning for not servicing the rooms during our stay in terms of trying to keep staff/residents safe. Hwever, we felt this was poor in that nobody changed the empty handsoap bottle during our stay so we had to negotiate using the one attached to the shower wall and then back to use the sink every time we wanted to wash our hands. Maybe easier and more hygenic to use individual small bottles like most hotels do, then you could supply more easily?

Staff were friendly.The chief kindly cooked us a meal although kitchen would normally have been closed. Although there was a function on it didn't filter to the bedrooms and we had a good night's sleep 😴

.Strong smell of cigarette smoke along the bedroom corridor I found it worrying but didnt want to bother the staff by reporting it. . No room service which is advertised on the website .

The Staff had a lovely stay. Staff were amazing. The room was nice bed was very comfy but the shelves where the kettle etc were kept were so dusty we could write our names in the dust. The bathroom was also dusty. Food was excellent

We were also disappointed that the hotel have closed the swimming pool and spa area even though it was still advertised on the website.

The location was good, we attended a wedding at the hotel, that was catered for brilliantly

The rooms are dated and ours wasn’t that clean. Breakfast was good, it was £10 each even for a child which we pre booked otherwise it would have been £12.99!! Very expensive.

Really good location easy access to and from motorway, food was good and well presented. Room was of ample size with comfy bed well situated on ground floor.

Restaurant was pre booked by a coach party and a few of the menu items had run out. It was a shame that some of the wedding party were running around the corridors at 2am but that is not the hotels fault.

Comfortable room with everything I needed for a 2 night stay. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good - Bev, was friendly and always had a smile. Lovely breakfast room.

Sausages were a bit tasteless but overall breakfast was good.

What I can only describe as dried spit all over the glass on the picture on the wall. Breakfast luke warm beans no mushrooms and still half hr left of breakfast . Tasteless hash browns . This is our 2nd time staying here last time bed was definetly bigger and room slightly bigger . Breakfast was awful then too . Love the hotel though

Travelling to meet old school friends the reception staff on my arrival were so friendly and helpful. My room although basic was just what I needed . I have to say the bed was so comfy, perfect after such a long journey and night drinking with friends.

slightly tired
