Our room was very clean and pleasant and had everything we needed, it faced onto a road and a car park with bright lights, but despite this we weren't disturbed by traffic noise, and a black out blind helped keep the light out. Our host Julie was super friendly and helpful, and advised us on good places to eat, all of which were in easy walking distance. Even though she had to head off to work by 9am Julie served us, and her other guests, a delicious cooked breakfast. Our only minor complaint - bigger sausages would be nice.

Julie the landlady/owner welcomed us when we arrived and showed us to our room and asked what time we wanted breakfast. We unpacked and settled in and then it was time to venture out and get an evening meal. Julie was happy to help with that and directed us to a lovely restaurant and also took time to give us more 'directions' of the island as we made plans each day to visit places of interest.... Nothing was too much trouble ;-)

Good sized room with good sized en-suite shower, sink & toilet facilities. Host really helpful regarding pubs & restaurants in the town. She was warm & friendly always. Henry the young ginger cat was entertaining. Lots of pictures on staircase wall such as old photos & prints of artwork.

Good all round & would stay again. Helpful to have satnav to find B&B if not familiar with Newport. Found it on the 2nd lap without satnav! Once found then it was easy & parking at rear had good access.

I was meant to have my dog with me but he died a week before but the lovely welcome of and oh wheres your dog and I explained I felt support and that at last people who love pets. Breakfast was great. A lot of choice. So I had cereal toast and fry up.I didnt have a view as such as in centre of city. But I had a lovely big tree right outside my window with a singing robin. The bookcase was good as I forgot to bring a book and lots choice. Classics and I read a couple. The bed was very comfy I just couldnt get up to go exploring once laid down so drank coffee and read. Bliss.Some neighbour out back was drilling for couple hours after I arrived but it was fine I had window open listening to the robin.lol it stopped 2 hours .I loved it there and loved the art it was a bigger place than I thought from photos. Great room and friendly.And a cute kitten Too.will return

Cosy, comfortable and homely! it was such a lovely place to stay, spacious room, en suite bathroom, clean and convenient. Owners are really lovely and welcoming will definitely be staying here if I visit IoW again in the future. Location was convenient for me as I was using buses to get around, and everything is pretty accessible from Newport. Town is at 5 min walk away, but things do close early around. 10/10 would recommend!

Nothing to not like :)

Our stay was great. The room was large, beds and pillows very comfortable, nice, warm shower, area was nice and quiet but still very close to all the amenities/bus stops of Newport. The whole house had a lovely, welcoming feel, I enjoyed looking at all the interesting pictures on the wall. We absolutely loved meeting Henry, the owner's ginger kitten who was the cutest! Parking was easy and close, just round the back of the B&B. Owner was very friendly and helpful. Had put a fan on in our room before we arrived to try cool it down during the 32 degree heat wave and left a nice big bottle of tap water in our room. Had all the teas& coffees in our room as well as a hair dryer which was welcome first thing in the morning before we went down for our breakfast. Breakfast was delicious and kept us going all day as we both had a full English with our choice of egg and plenty of toast with jams, coffee and juice.

The lock/handle was a little dodgy on our room door (room 2) from the inside. I thought I was locked in at one point but managed to figure out a knack to it! Completely forgot to mention to the owner, I'm sure if I had she would've looked into it for us quickly.

My husband had a veggie cooked breakfast. I went for the cereals and toast. Julie also offered a croissant one morning which was tasty. The muesli I had was delicious, as was the toast and jams and marmalades. Satsumas were also available. Coffee in a cafetiere and good orange juice. Pleasant atmosphere.

May be the shower ensuite could be modernised - but not totally necessary in my opinion. Also, the glass shower surround didn't look cleaned.

I like the fact that the building looked historic and modern on the inside. The ensuite and room was huge with loads of storage space. The staff including tge ginger cat were very welcoming and flexible on check in and Check out times. The breakfast looked home made not frozen and the orange juice was freshly squeezed. The bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on.

The only thing was the size of the TV in the room and also the amount of shower gel given could be increased.

We stayed for over a week while we walked the island coast path this was a perfect location with good bus connections all over the island. Julie & John were really friendly nothing was too much trouble their advice from their local knowledge was excellent. We looked forward to our breakfast every morning which was cooked really well. Our room was lovely bright & spacious in a quiet location the Wi-Fi was really powerful. The bed gave us a good night sleep every night. We look forward to returning.

Nothing all was good

Very convenient location in Newport, with a Sainsbury superstore less than 5 mins walk away. High street where the shops are is about a 10 mins walk away. Twin bedroom was super spacious. Host Julie was very accommodating to needs, and prepared a 7.30am breakfast as we need to catch the 9am ferry.

Small things really: 1. Pillows were super soft and flat 2. No place in shower to place toiletries 3. Bathroom only has 1 small hook so it’s difficult to hang a towel and clothes while in the shower
