Everything was very nice about our stay at The Waverley. The facilities, the location, the ambience were all top notch. Top it all off with a freshly cooked full English! What's not to like?

Our only slight issue with our stay, was, it had been an extremely hot day. When we checked in, the window in our room was fully open, but the room was like an oven. So, consequently, we had to leave the window open all night, and the road is quite narrow, with buildings opposite. The road is very busy with cars, lorries, buses, tractors, etc, and so therefore, the noise for most of the night was very disturbing. On a cool night, when the window could remain shut, it wouldn't be a problem. This little issue wouldn't put me off of staying there again though, not at all.

It was excellent value for money. A nice location with numerous bus stops into Newport. To be honest you could walk into Newport as well. The food was fantastic. I had lasagne and it was delicious as was the breakfast which was included in the price. Welcoming staff, nice drinks and friendly locals. I miss Willow the dog.

It's really hard to criticise this place. The only fault i could find was the shower which was either hot or cold. But it wasn't really an issue and i'm sure this could be fixed with a little maintenance. It's still excellent value for money.

We travelled over to The Isle of Wight as My Daughter had a driving test and Newport was the only place we could get... We Live in Reading We booked the Waverley via booking .com and was pleased from the time we arrived. The staff were very friendly and made room for us in a packed pub as there was a quiz night going on... (Laat Thursday of Month) Our rooms were clean, tidy and very comfortable Breakfast was excellent as was the evening meal we had... We even came back next day for lunch after my Daughter had passed her driving test (Thank You Craig) Test Examiner

Nothing really..... place was great and very good value for money

The staff are very friendly and engaging and the home cooked meals are wonderful, good honest food. The situation is absolutely ideal pretty much in the centre of the island and relatively quiet as a place, however the Waverley is popular and gets quite busy so if you are looking for a a tranquil place to stay this is probably not it, however the locals { and visitors } i found to be really friendly and to a degree made my short stay all the more enjoyable. I am definitely planning on returning there for a short break in the future

This is not really a criticism as you have to remember this is a pub and as such you have to accept that side of things, but if you are an early to bed type of person beware as it can be a little noisy

Rachel and Tiffany made us feel so welcome. This is our favourite place we have stayed in this year so far and want an excuse to rebook and come back. The place has a really nice atmosphere. Oldy worldy vibe, but extremely clean, interesting, lovely atmosphere and it looked like it had recently had a refurb, as the bedroom was gorgeous and clean, and the views immaculately clean. We loved the dinner and breakfast, the food is fantastic. A nice surprise was the great pool table and juke box. There is a lovely beer garden, and the Inn is in a great location near bus stops and a coop. Thanks for a great stay. The price of room and breakfast was very good. Thank you.

There was nothing we didn't like. We just hope to be able to stay again soon.

I booked the room for a week as I was walking around the island using buses to start and end each day. The owner was very welcoming, despite it being hot the room was cool as a large sash window was wide open, the bed was particularly comfortable. Really good value.

The room was noisy from traffic outside and as it was so hot the window had to be left wide open. But it quietened down in the evening and didn't stop me sleeping.

Very happy with our stay. The bed was really comfy and we slept very well. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The best thing was the food! Dinner and breakfast both superb.

The room was supposed to include toiletries so we didn't worry about bringing shower gel because we needed to keep the weight down for walking with our bags. But we only had anti bac hand wash which isn't really suitable for a shower after a long day walking. But only a minor niggle.

Staff were lovely and friendly and very helpful, had an evening meal which was delicious. The room was nicely decorated and clean. Breakfast was also very nice.

The Landlady had told me that the shower took a while to heat up as my room was far from the boiler. This was correct but I also had trouble getting an even temperature, it was either too hot or too cold. The shower head was too heavy for the rail so kept dropping, unless you stood it upright, and the water pressure was not great either.

The property was in a fantastic location with bus stops on your doorstep. We chose this location as we wanted to explore the island. The breakfast was exceptional cooked fresh daily and tasty ingredients. Good quality sausage and bacon. The owners were great and so accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. Quality towels, bedding and a comfortable bed.

Friendly,helpful and efficient staff (single-handed Tiffany!) made my stay particularly enjoyable. The bar downstairs offers good value and very tasty meals (and breakfasts) and good beer on pump. Wednesday nights in the bar feature local talented musicians (mainly in the folk music genre) and poetry and story readers which is very enjoyable and imparts a great vibe to the Waverley. There is a large carpark for travellers, but if you arrive by bus the Waverley is very well served.
