The bed was amazing, big, spacious and comfy. Toilet was awful, like children’s toilet, low to floor and cramped bath.. Bland shower gels and soaps for price of hotel.water in hand sanitizer and no smell to anything, apart from drain smell in our room

The fact that the petersham have temp charged us £885 for two night stay,as they have put a £500 hold deposit on top our final bill, which we now cannot use until hold is removed.Contacted bank who states that it’s the hotel who times the hold…£36 for two whiskey sour single, also extortionate

It’s position was superb and not only gave us great views to look at but was close enough to walk along the river thank/path as well as into Richmond. The bedroom on the ground floor was a comfortable and a great help as both of us were having mobility difficulties.

Initially We were put into a back bedroom on the first floor which was dark, small making it hard for us to get around it. It had no drawers or shelves to put clothes like underwear or jersey’s in a very small table with hard chairs. I booked a superior room and I was expecting and needing space, light and comfortable chairs! I spoke to Yorden I think deputy receptionist manager and he managed to find us a much better room on the ground floor. We also got confused as to when we could go into the bar for both food and drinks.

Great location in Richmond, nice friendly staff with nice touch of biscuits in room for husband's birthday. Food in restaurant was delicious and serving staff very attentive.

The price for one night didn't include breakfast so for just the room was expensive. The room was quite small, the bed was a double and was quite hard with no luxury feeling at all. The bathroom was nice and fairly big, double sink but the shower was very average, not great water pressure. The separate toilet was tiny and if you are a larger person you would not be able to get through and shut the door. The restaurant is currently closed but they honoured our booking, but it did mean we were the only people eating dinner in the entire restaurant so no real atmosphere at all.

If you’re looking for a special experience, then this is the place to stay. The venue has hosted many famous people. Located on the side of Richmond Hill, the view from the restaurant is extraordinary and is protected by an Act of Parliament. Lovely quiet location within an easy walk along the river to Richmond. The room was lovely and the staff very professional and helpful. There is lovely common area, and the restaurant is exceptional. If you are looking for a special accommodation, then we highly recommend The Petersham.

I can’t fault the venue, but be aware that the gratuities are built into the bill so there is a built-in gratuity on the restaurant charge and then another voluntary gratuity for the bar staff on the bill (we had breakfast so chose to remove this charge). Other voluntary gratuities include reception and housekeeping, which were both excellent.

Though the room was not faced with the hillside view, overall stay was filled with the nice surroundings of greenary of Richmond area and river Thames, which gave me the highest comfort. The facility and the room was an decent UK standard, which you can not expect from a global point of view. Breakfast was also a typical excellent British one, which you can enjoy once or twice per week as a traveler.

There was not actually what I did not like, but the out of date water facility, room windows which bring outside cold temparature is what you can enjoy if you accept that`s UK.

The hotel is in a lovely Georgian setting which has been recently renovated. The room was a good size and price for a single person stay. It was clean and had the right amount of space to place suitcase and other items. The bathroom facilities were excellent. If I had to criticise toothpaste and brush set would have been nice but the shower gel, soap and moisturiser were of a good quality. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food (I am a vegan/vegetarian) was excellent, champagne at breakfast was exquisite! The choice of wines were fabulous! The view of the River Thames from the dining room/lounge/bar added well to the relaxing atmosphere.

Wonderful hotel, great location and lovely staff. Easy check-in/check-out process, great parking facilities and easy to navigate floors.

The standard single room was very narrow so felt claustrophobic at night which impacted my sleep. I understand the restaurant is separate from the hotel but the room service menu wasn't great. Nor was the Club menu which is available for guests. All a matter of preference to be honest so I'm sure others might not be bothered by this at all

Gorgeous from the outside and location is absolutely perfect. The room size is fine and the view from the room is gorgeous Staff are really friendly and helpful, pianist was playing on the ground floor both days which was so lovely!

The decor is a bit out dated and old (not in the grand traditional way of the outside which is original old and beautiful) which is a shame as it could be amazing. Love all of the old pictures and art work but the carpets and wallpaper cheapens it. Its also a shame that there is no stools in the lovely little bar room where the drinks are as this would have been a preferable place to sit instead of amongst the restaurant which is also very outdated.

This charming hotel, with its establishment dating back to 1850, exudes an old-world charm that transports you back in time. It has hosted a myriad of famous personalities, including the likes of Lady Margaret Thatcher, Richard Branson, Mick Jagger, Michael Douglas, Robbie Williams, and many others. The view from my room was simply breathtaking, overlooking the picturesque Richmond meadows and the meandering Thames. The tranquility and beauty of the surroundings are truly worth the price of admission.

Great location and lovely building. Free parking and ease of access to river. Lovely room with comfy bed/pillows. Everything was very clean.

No air conditioning in the room which was really quite unbearable on a hot summer's night. The room overlooked other parts of the building and there was very little draught even with the window opened. On check out, I wasn't immediately refunded the extra amount I'd paid on check in which was unacceptable. I have now received the refund after several days.
