Staff were always pleasant and friendly. The room was lovely, bed perfect, very clean and great attention to finer details ie a light in the wardrobe. The top floor restaurant has exceptional views and the food was top quality. There was so much to like.
The air conditioning affected my Fibromyalgia leaving me in a lot of pain and I had to cut my stay short. No milk in the room, I had to go ask for some. Poor quality toilet paper. The service in the bar was rather chaotic in the chap would part serve several people at the same time rather than serve one at a time and he actually disappeared off somewhere then came back. I'm not sure if he was new staff but he was struggling a bit and other staff didn't stop to help. He was a lovely person though and so apologetic.

Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of food Better signage would be helpful as it was clear that both the coffee machine and toast area were missed by many guests.
Expensive drinks, pricing not displayed and standard measures not aligning with the generous costs. If you want the bar to operate very simplistically with junior staff then fine give standard measures but make sure the pricing is clear. But if you want the bar to operate more as a club bar then have more experience staff that, for example, don’t throw away half measures of whiskey when the bottle is nearly empty when you could’ve given that to the guest on the house Then you can start charging more generous prices.

Went for rugby game obviously perfect location. Room was big as I was late booking so our usual stand room had gone. We had food in the evening was really yummie although a tad expensive.
Breakfast was not inc in price. As it happens we didn’t even have breakfast at hotel in the bed so busy queue at ever buffet & there were 4. Bar didn’t have enough staff on, the poor 2 people that were serving were doing their best but just not fair on them when hotel was full.

Rooms very comfortable. Staff efficient, breakfast good.
We were allocated a room 640, which was located in a very small enclosed alcove that had 2 guest rooms 640 / 639 - with a door to the main corridor less than 3 foot away. The doors to the rooms and the door leading out to the main corridor were large, very heavy and extremely noisy firedoors. Unfortunately the guests in room 639 spent from 7.30pm - 11pm going in and out of their room every few minutes banging both doors very loudly. We had to change rooms at 11pm as we were getting no rest at all. A terrible design fault of the hotel and why were we allocated that room when there were others available on the same floor? DO NOT ACCEPT EITHER OF THESE ROOMS!

Breakfast was superb, very good quality ingredients.Food in the evening was also lovely.Located a little out of city centre but train station was only few minutes away and we also found local bus stop that did a circular service into Exeter.Parking was also very good although I guess on match days it may be an issue. Everything about hotel felt “new”.
Only comment would have been slightly underwhelming tea /coffee tray just 2 teabags supplied and not normal tea either and 2 milk pods.Nice biscuits though.Luckily I brought my own teabags and some milk(fridge in room was handy).

We had a great stay, such a clean hotel with great facilities. We had adjoining rooms which both had ample space making our stay comfortable. The bed was fantastic and with the superb black out curtains I had the best sleep I’ve had in ages. Breakfast was scrummy although we went down a bit later and some of the goodies had run out which was a shame. The evening meal was ok, but the menu a little limited.
There could have been a bit more variety on the evening menu but the food we had was very tasty and good quality. The location is good for a motorway stay (or ikea!!) and obviously rugby, but not if you wanted to walk around and see Exeter itself straight from the hotel.

the facilities and location
paying for car parking. I was asked to pay £12 to park by the receptionist. when I checked the boards outside the next day, this was for 24 hours. there was a rate for 12-18 hours which was £7. I should have paid that!! so I felt I overpaid by £5. it does feel pretty poor having to pay to park!!!!

The hotel was lovely. Modern, clean and tasteful. The lifts were quite big which i was a big fan of. The bed was comfy and a lush flat screen to watch the olympics on in our room. Close drive to the city & can walk to IKEA and other little pubs. Lovely staff.
The only downside was that the bathroom has privacy glass, so not only can you see the outline of whoever is in the bathroom but when someone gets up in the middle of the night to use the toilet the entire room lights up, not overly great if you’re a light sleeper like me. Wouldn’t stay for more than 1/2 nights because of the toilet issue.

Everything in the room was immaculate and so spacious, and the hotel building itself was stunning. The view from the restaurant and bar was great. We paid for parking and breakfast to be included so we didn’t have anything to worry about while we were there. The staff were all incredibly lovely and couldn’t do enough to help, even at 2am they were just as friendly as they were at any other time of day. The bed was super comfortable - I have trouble napping and I had no problem nodding off! The bathroom was so nicely designed I might have to remodel my own at home. The facilities in the room were thoughtful with tea and biscuits refilled daily, and small packs of cotton buds in the bathroom. I needn’t have worried about forgetting shower gel as it was provided and had a lovely scent. The blackout curtains were much appreciated as we needed a power nap in the day and once they were closed it was like the middle of the night! We really appreciated the efficient air con to keep the room fresh and cool as well as obviously in a hotel of that size the windows don’t open, we never had a problem with the temperature being uncomfortable. Breakfast had plenty of options including vegan sausage on request, dairy free milk and yoghurt, and gluten free cereals all well signposted. We couldn’t hear a thing from rooms on any side during our stay and the hallway carpet was so thick it was great at absorbing noise so you don’t have to worry about footsteps disturbing other guests. We felt very welcomed after a long journey and will definitely consider staying here again.
I would’ve appreciated bigger towels in the room. Both mornings during breakfast service they didn’t have enough staff to keep up with the demand - which wasn’t their fault and unfortunately some guests were being rude to them which is never good. The juices were almost constantly running out and it might be an idea to swap to a larger container even though it might not be as aesthetically pleasing as the little jars with taps.

The rooms are fresh and clean. The staff was very helpful. The location is just off M5 and is easy to explore around Devon. The views from the top are excellent.
The bed is too soft to my liking. The bathroom light lights up the bedroom because of the semi-transparent walls. So, if your partner wakes up in the middle of the night, most likely you will be woken up as well. The breakfast is decent but same for all days. So, it can be a bit boring.
