Friendly staff, good size room to accommodate two adults and two kids, generally comfortable and for a good price! Good breakfast with a lot of choice.
Not particularly keen on the fact that we had to pay for parking, especially as it's far out from the busy parts of the city and there isn't much of an alternative to park elsewhere (although we did know this was gonna be the case before going). Then in terms of comfort in the room: there were 2 sets of pillows in our room (2 harder and 2 soft), but given that we were 4 in the room, they were all in use. Turns out the harder pillows were far too hard for us, so even though the bed was comfortable, we didn't have a great night sleep because of that. Next time we'll definitely ask the reception for another set of soft ones! :)

Staff were very helpful and accommodating and upgraded our room. The breakfast was excellent with a range of options for continental and there was less grease on the cooked breakfast compared with other hotels.
Unfortunately there wasn’t a toilet brush which created a build up in the toilet that was really unnecessary over the five days we stayed. We requested for our room to be cleaned but it wasn’t. Also there was black mould above the shower. When the cleaners are hoovering around the corridors and stairs please can they put signs out warning customers as the hoover wires can be a trip hazard, especially on the stairs. More attention to detail required with the cleaning team please..

Parking - I gave it best rate only because the staff member at reception helped with the parking details - I did not find it easy to use the monitor (but I am not technically minded/skilled) and he kindly waived the fee. Room - clean and bed very comfortable. Duvet kept me nice and warm. Evening snacks. Although certain dishes were not available due to supply issues, I chose to have leek and potato soup - it was the best - very tasty and full of flavour (so pleased that what would have been my first choice was not available!) Location. Excellent for visiting relatives and friends who live in Exeter and out outskirts too. Very convenient location. Staff - friendly, welcoming and helpful.
Breakfast - good choice of foods although eggs were not available on the 31st December which I understand were due to supplier issues. Also on 30th there was a problem with the machines giving out the jams.....I gave up in the end, and just had butter. Room - temperature just about ok because I could not fathom out the instructions to make it warmer. I accept I could have contacted reception for help but decided not to bother them.

Easy to find, good size car park, welcoming staff after a long day’s driving.
Breakfast advertised until 9.30. I came down at 8.50, hot dishes still looked reasonably fresh - scrambled eggs definitely recently refreshed. But at 9.30 I went looking for a second cup of coffee to find all hot drinks machines turned off, in cleaning mode etc Asking staff, they pointed to the bat where I could get a coffee ( and pay extra of course) - that seemed a little mean! Does that mean if I’d have presented for breakfast at 9.30 it would have all been closed down?

Good location. Good lift to floors Nice reception staff and helpful
A member of staff knocking hard on the door at about 11am asking to check the shower head ( probably for legionnaires) But I could have been asleep as I sleep late . Couldn’t this be done when room empty?? Also I had actually stayed for 10 days all in all and on checkout day checkout time is 11am. Granted it was 11.20 and I was just preparing to vacate when there was a loud knock at the door and a member of staff saying time to check out!!! I know that I was a bit late but I would think couldn’t they give 30 minutes grace!! It seemed so rude after having stayed for 10 days and then being asked to leave at 11.20

I was very favourably impressed with the staff and with our room. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I had the impression of very nice people who had also received very good customer-service training. Our room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We liked the clever dual-function door on the bathroom which meant the toilet could be used while someone else was in the bathroom. We ate dinner at the hotel on the first night: worth mentioning that the kitchen shuts at 9 p.m. but we placed our order just before 9 p.m. and were well looked-after. The food - hamburger and chips - was tasty enough and just what we fancied at the end of a long day including about 4 hours' car travel. Although it's on the eastern edge of Exeter, it's opposite the Honiton Park & Ride so convenient for buses into Exeter.
There was nothing I really didn't like. Space is limited at breakfast but I went at the most crowded time, having been warned it would be particularly crowded then, and was able to get a table. That would likely be an issue for a larger group but we were warned on check-in that there might be a wait if we went at the busiest time as were other guests. I would say food is not particularly a strength. There is a fairly limited range of food available for breakfast but there was everything I wanted and I think it was a decent breakfast bearing in mind the hotel is 3-star and was very crowded (Exeter Uni open day plus a wedding exhibition). Similarly, dinner options are limited but again I think this is fine given the hotel rating and the hotel price which was very reasonable.

Our room was extremely comfortable which was just what we needed after a long day travelling. The bed in particular was great. We were given a quiet room as requested The breakfast exceeded expectations
Shower was a little small but serviceable. I was led to believe that we could pay for our parking inside the hotel but this wasn't the case. It was also more expensive than the staff had quoted. Unfortunately the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night so we evacuated. We were surprised that no assembly area was indicated on the fire instructions so everyone gathered at the entrance. If there had been a bomb it's usual practice to keep away from buildings! Also we didn't see any sign of the fire service, nor staff until we were told to return to our rooms. A letter was pushed under our doors apologising but we weren't told whether or not there had been a fire & when questioned the next day the receptionist denied all knowledge of the fire alarm going off.

Excellent location, ideal for visiting Exeter Centre, Powderham Castle, Dawlish, Exmouth, or onward car journeys - N.S.E or W. Comfortable bed and surroundings. Staff were always friendly. The free car parking offered when we arrived was a bonus. Thank you.
Breakfast a little limited on choice of hot - never varied day to day in over a week. Perhaps grilled tomatoes and mushrooms might be offered additionally? Very limited evening meal menu, ok if you like fast food. Expensive restaurant next door. No marked walkways for pedestrians in the car park. Hotel used by many contractors' vans during the week with no designated provision for their larger vehicles in the car park, Mon-Thurs.

The staff were friendly and very helpful. I’m Gluten Free and without asking the staff understood that my bread couldn’t be toasted in the same toaster as bread containing Gluten so she took it to the kitchen to make sure there was no cross contamination. Everything was clearly labelled. We were visiting the university open day and the staff explained the best bus route, they also included free parking for the remainder of the day.
You have to pay extra for parking, just include this in the price rather than having to enter details into a machine. It’s just a process that isn’t necessary.

I regularly use the hotel so can't face going over the same things each time! Everything was as I knew it would be and that is always very enjoyable, particularly the quality of the staff. Every one of them is welcoming, friendly, efficient. These are people who look you in the eye and really talk to you. Oh yes, and you can open the windows (even if they are "restricted", to borrow the current jargon.)
The heating/air conditioning system is one of life's great mysteries to me. I get the impression I am not unique in this respect. But I don't complain! After all, I can't pretend I don't know the ropes! Anyway, give me a window I can open and I can forgive almost anything.
