All staff were happy, helpful and very professional. Our room was in the old part of the hotel, which is interesting and quite quaint really. The room was above average size with a large bathroom. All the amenities you would expect. Clean, with a comfy bed. The bars, again in the old part were good as was the food and beers. Breakfast was exceptional. Location was brilliant, right in the city centre near the cathedral, with very reasonable parking (£5) What is not to like. Exeter has a surprisingly vibrant city centre, probably because there is no huge shopping centre sucking everything from the high street.

Good size, clean room, very pleasant staff, parking. As we were in Exeter for Christmas with family we essentially only slept in the hotel, not using the dining or other facilities. A perfect location for shopping, the Quays, and walking to our relatives. A good price.

The mirror light in the bathroom was not working when we got there but was quickly replaced. The bedside lights were too dim for aged eyes to read by. The room was very hot when we arrived there and we turned off the radiator but it remained hot throughout the nights from the towel rail and we left the window open. Not good for the heating bills or the planet. The radiator gurgled all the time. Being Christmas and skeleton staffed we only mentioned the first which was fixed, others might have been if we had bothered the staff.

Friendly staff - check in was easy.

I had originally thought about parking in front of the Hotel as there were a number of bays available, However the sight of so many youngsters sitting on the wall of the pub opposite the hotel that were clearly high on life so I decided to move to the car park at the rear of the building. The pub opposite may have had a students night (Monday night) but it was a little noisy which I could hear from my room on the 4th floor. Despite the pub being located on the opposite side of the road to the hotel I could hear people shouting and screaming at kicking out time which is something you do not generally expect on a Monday night. Also Overnight parking had to be paid for.

We chose the White Hart for its central location and reasonable prices. The car park is behind the hotel, and easy to find. There are only 49 spaces but when we arrived late afternoon there were plenty of spaces. Remember to register your car at reception and pay the £5. This covers you from 11 a.m. to 2 pm the next day. Our room (105) was very comfortable but Mum's was a bit hot (102). The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. Ours didn't have a hair dryer so bring your own just in case. There wasn't a lot of road noise but I did wear ear plugs anyway. We didn't eat at the hotel as Wetherspoons is opposite. Other restaurants are a short walk away too. Kayleigh was very helpful during our stay. An absolute diamond!

What would Alex Polizzi say about the lack of staff when you come in to the hotel reception? We were expecting this to be a problem due to the reviews we had read. Be prepared to go to the bar to try and find someone. Kayleigh seemed to be bar person and receptionist. She appeared to be doing everything , with a lack of support when she needed assistance. Note to management - if you want to retain good people like Kayleigh then improve the staffing levels or muck in yourself if necessary. Despite the poor staffing levels we would stay again due to the price and location.

Great location no more than 10 min walk from everything so saved on taxis home when went out for drinks as could just stumble back. Asked for haunted room got activity in the room so was happy about that as that’s why we wanted to stay there. Staff don’t bother you and if you need anything they make sure they meet ur requirements- iron/more tea/coffee

More tea n coffee in the room so didn’t have to ask for it everyday as only got enough for a couple cups each day n we had a 4 night stay so would of been nice to have enough in the room when arrived to not have to keep going to reception to ask other than that can’t complain. Water nice and hot I enjoyed a bath partner enjoyed hot shower. Had to ask for iron it’s not in the room but it was big iron with big board not a travel one so that was good and they brought it up to us when asked for it. Room has smart tv so can watch Netflix ect. So that was good when hungover the next morning in nice comfy bed had great night sleep until ghost detector woke us but that’s what we wanted so not complaining hehe

Very friendly welcome and staff throughout our stay. The location of the hotel was very good for walking to The Quay, shopping area, cathedral, cinemas and to places of historical interest in Exeter such as The Medieval bridge, house that moved, oldest street, Tudor houses, priory, Guildhall, churches, museum and restaurants. Car parking at the hotel for a very reasonable sum. Very comfortable large bed and soft bed linen. Could eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at hotel if you wanted at reasonable prices. Plenty of places to visit nearby, by river or sea, lovely countryside.

We wanted a shower in a cubicle rather than over a bath as we are in our 70's and my husband is physically disabled with osteoarthritis and can't step over the side of a bath. Liked - There is a lift at the hotel, we were given a room on the 1st floor near it on arrival.

really good location near everything, close to the station, the Quay, the cathedral, the Christmas Markets and the shops. Our party consisted of one great grandmother, one grandmother, one mother and one baby six months so it was important that everything was accessible and easy to get to. The White Hart was perfect for this

I had to bring a travel cot as there was nothing available at the hotel for babies. Despite this we thoroughly enjoyed our time and the journey was not too bad by train. I do think there is a gap in the market for very lightweight travel cots if there are any inventors out there. After all Travel Cot ..the clues in the name.

Excellent location, lovely Inn, rooms tidy, clean and warm. Car Parking excellent. Gentleman with a beard sorry didn’t catch his name was brilliant with us on check in, really friendly and helpful, thank you. Would recommend staying.

Female we first met at 1230 at reception on the 9th December, no eye contact, no welcome, really not interested. Unfortunately she was there again on check out on the 10th, no eye contact again just kept staring at the computer, didn’t ask how the stay was for us etc, didn’t acknowledge the keys so we dropped them in the hole for check out if nobody on reception. Just expect some kind of welcome and thanks for staying, it’s all basic hospitality customer service.

The loculation was perfect as we were able to park at the hotel and it was an easy walk to the town centre, the Cathedral and the Quay. Our room was comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was very good value and tasty. on the second night the fire alarm went off at 3am. As we couldn't smell smoke and were right next to the fire escape we decided to stay put. From our window we saw a fire engine come and after a while go. In the morning we were told by the young lady serving breakfast that it had been a false alarm, which she put down to some paranormal investigators who'd been in the previous day upsetting the ghost in the cellar. She also told us about the ghost of a little boy. Now that's what I call a hotel with character! We enjoyed our stay and would certainly choose the White Hart again.
