Everything was amazing apart from the bed I had in room 6, just me probably but I would have liked a proper bed toppper on a twin bed pushed together. I don’t like to feel the split bed I am afraid. Apart from that …. All was amazing and I stayed with my Mum and she could not fault anything either. I have to say that Jane was amazing along with the rest of the staff also and we cannot fault anything at all that you guys have provided … Bang on it really is 😁👊🏻

Nothing and will be back to see Jane 😂👍😝 .. Keep it real Guys as you are amazing .. Kind Regards, Richard n Mum 😂

The bed had the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on in my life. The staff were wonderful and the breakfast was one of the best I've had in a hotel. The view of the river from the room was romantic !

It's not so much a hotel, more a pub with rooms, although they do a good job of making the rooms feel separate. It's a bit of a strange feeling staying beside such a busy pub. Breakfast only starting at 8am is a bit later than we're use to. The rooms are smaller than most other 4 * hotels I've stayed in, but well appointed. When we booked the price was about 80% more than other brand named hotels with similar ratings. Although lovely, the Mill didn't provide 80% more loveliness.

Newly decorated, but small room for the price. Generous breakfasts.

No answer of phone immediately after non-refundable booking. Non-sensical, then no answer to email requests regarding parking. Main lightbulb stayed on when switched off - had to remove bulb at night. No instructions for air conditioning unit, and staff failed to provide the help promised to assist with this. On pointing out there was no phone answer when I wanted to ask for help with the air con request from the room, was told I can always come down to the restaurant to ask. Not helpful as I had to dress and go down to be told this - no apology, no “we will fix this for the future.

Lovely view of the river with two armchairs in the bay window of our room from which to watch the river birds. Very helpful manager and extra allergy food requirements were fully met. Staff all very friendly.

Bathroom not as well designed as it could be as little space to place wash bags near the basin. The bath was narrow and the soap gell fixed to the wall was only geared to showering and could not be reached when lying in the bath. You had to stand in the bath to reach the blind pull as well. Towels were not easy to hang either

Good location as only a few minutes walk to the high street and as we were there for shopping it was perfect. We also chose The Mill on The Exe because it closeness to the river Exe. It was January so and we didn't expect to sit outside but on arrival we found the Exe in flood and raging waters. Very exciting to see. Our room and walk-in shower were excellent and had everything you could want including a coffee machine. We ate in their buzzing restaurant that evening (above average pub food) with excellent service. Free parking too, such a bonus as well to arrive at 1030 am and park all day whilst we shopped. Just a word here on what else Exeter offers - just off the high street you have the cathedral (definitely worth a visit) unusual old houses, a large green area and more, so it's worth a detour.

Breakfast was included and we chose the full English, sadly everything on our plates was overcooked - I can't imagine that this is always the case due to the reviews. Other choices were fruits, cereals, bread, cakes etc.

Lovely hotel with restaurant by the waters edge (River Exe). Central to Exeter so you can walk into the city center if you wanted. Garden looks great with outside seating and tables although at this time of the year its not being used. We had an evening meal but no breakfast. Food was very good and the service was excellent throughout. Bedroom was at the back facing the main road but was quiet enough. Lovely bathroom and comfy bed.

Only drawback was getting there by car from the M5. It was a Friday teatime and so the traffic was really bad and it took ages to get there. Maybe not the best time to travel !

Location on the river was beautiful abd outside dining n view tgere. Waiters women upstairs were gracious n excellent n kind. Good decent but not great. Downstairs pub food really overcooked n staff bartenders. Great great shower n exceptional Instant hot water on too flour. Beautifully redesigned bathrooms! Wow! Excellent maid service n care. Pub guys drink centered n young naturally w less food knowledge even on smaller menu. .i suggest they need more training about food n service or and bring a team that helps each other , more staff likely. I felt as solo 72 yr old woman traveller as out aside. Had to go to bsr 2 c re food n menú another 2 x waited 20 minutes to even be asked for wine or any water. Nice guys but into those watch TV n game. Place was 1/2 filled, not full , yes 9 pm but still can be improved. We are old but still give tips n want to arrive n not feel neglected.

Room 11 one can’t see the river n window difficult to open to see river at all. Not a room with a view at all. Hiking up was slow & tedious given my age.

Elemis products! Clean, bright room. Lovely decor and very comfortable bed. I slept really well.

10.30 check-out is too early. Breakfast was lovely and waitress was very friendly. Tables need a good wipe down before each new sitting though. Mine looked a little grubby/greasy. Would have liked the outer door to my room shut and not pinned open. This would have avoided a lot of noise from passers by, going to their rooms. Admittedly I couldn’t work out how to unpin it myself!

Rooms were very spacious and clean and very quiet considering we were on the main road. Some rooms had a second door to stop any noise from the other guests. There was a big bed in the room, comfortable clean bed, coffee facilities and fans in room were top quality. The bar and restaurant were lovely, we had dinner and breakfast and the food quality was amazing. The staff were attentive and friendly.

It needed a little bit of tlc, the paintwork needed touching up as it was a bit run down but it did not deflect from it being a lovely top quality hotel

We had booked the Mill as a stop over point on the way to Bigbury on Sea and got so much more than we bargained for. After a long and delayed trip on the train we delighted to find this quaint looking pub right on the river. The staff were amazingly friendly on arrival an our room which was on the ground floor was ready straight away. It was a spacious room with a big double bed, smart Tv, a seating area and cute double doors out on to a little patio. The bathroom was huge and all looked quite newly fitted, lovely fluffy towels and good selection of toiletries. There was also tea and coffee making facilities in the room. After arriving we walked the short distance along the river to the Quay area which has some fantastic bars, restaurants and quaint little antique shops. A fab night in Exeter followed and a nightcap in the beautifully lit riverside garden. Bed was amazingly comfortable and we slept like tops! Breakfast was included in our stay and was served in the beautiful orangery style dinning room all was freshly cooked and delicious. Would absolutely recommend this place without hesitation.
