The hotel was luxurious and relaxing and the staff were excellent; they were all very pleasant and attentive. This is really important to us in deciding we would return here. The family facilities were great, but you can equally stay as a couple (as we did) and enjoy the special ambience and delicious food.

We booked the classic double with sea view; the room was quite a bit smaller than we expected, although the bathroom was good.

Nothing to note here. The only thing I would like to mention but by all means not a negative comment is it is a bit of a steep walk (return in particular) to/from hotel to Fowey harbour, which is not for the faint hearted! However, there are benches to take a pit stop along the way! Along, with handrails enroute if you need them.

The facilities, bedroom comforts and mod cons and staff were probably one of the finest hotels I have stayed in this country, even the world. I can not fault this hotel, and would like to go back. The staff were incredible, local people who loved there jobs. Room service was excellent, breakfast very good.

Very nice hotel which is undergoing significant refurbishment - the staff were very courteous and it really felt like a very upmarket establishment. Furnishings were excellent throughout and the food was superb. When the refurb is completed this will be a wonderful place to stay and (I expect) outside of our price bracket!

Whilst the food was fantastic the prices were very high for the a la carte dinner and portion sizes quite small. Also in one of the rooms the background music was Classic FM (along with adverts) and this didn't really suit the ambience of the hotel. Finally the music choice in the restaurant for our evening meal was somewhat unusual and again not conducive with the atmosphere of the hotel

It was a slight let down with the constructions going on at the hotel, but it was made aware prior to our booking. there was a bread roll under the food serving counter during the evening meal, which was still there the following morning, during the breakfast service.

The staff went above and beyond, they were friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was fresh, plentiful and delicious and they brought a sausage for the dog. The room was immaculately clean, very comfortable and had wonderful views.

There were ongoing refurbishments, we will have to come back again to take advantage of them.

A beautiful building with lots of history. Absolute first class service from very friendly staff that really made us feel welcome. There was currently a lot of building work going on outside but that didn’t matter as we were only staying on night whilst travelling through. The staff were that good they telephoned me to let me know this prior to arriving just in case I wanted to cancel. I simply can’t fault our experience.

Hill was a bit steep when walking down to the town , but that’s what to expect when staying somewhere ‘overlooking’ the town

The hotel is just amazing, we’ve stayed previously and always enjoyed it. The staff are just so warm and welcoming and they honestly can’t do enough for you. The hotel is spotlessly clean and so beautifully decorated. There are renovations happening at the hotel currently but this didn’t negatively impact our experience. The food is fantastic and breakfast was perfect. Once the renovations have completed and the pool reopen we will 100% be back to stay.

Nothing at all that we didn’t like

Service at breakfast was quite good however a bit slow sometimes. No tomatoes was disappointing reason given wastage but when you saw what people leave was amazing.It is a normal thing to leave half of what had been ordered!

No fruit tees

Building is stunning with good views, lots of great facilities and very well maintained. Rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. Had a great breakfast the next morning with a wide range of food.

There was nothing we didn’t like, we just felt it was slightly overpriced.
