The building was historical and the history given in the room was very good. Cleanliness was very good. Girl who served us a breakfast very very welcoming and efficient.

All the staff were very nice with the exception of a huge bearded man who was behind the bar on our arrival. Chucked our room key on the bar at us. Never greeted us nor explained how to get to the room. Which sadly meant we didn`t drink or eat there for the 2 days. Sadly the kitchen extractor fan was below our window and because of the exceptional hot weather we had to keep the window open which meant it wasn`t as restful as we would have liked.

Service was efficient and pleasant. Breakfasts were very good and served in a very beautiful old room on the 1st floor. We had a pleasant street view from our bedroom. The position was good for exploring, eating and river cruises.

The room and bed were very small and the bathroom was private but not en suite. However, this is to be expected in such an old building. It was also a bit noisy outside until the drinkers all went home but that is to be expected when you stay at an old pub. The biggest problem is the lack of parking. We had to park our car at the top of the hill and catch the bus or walk up a very steep hill.

Dinner was very good, we’ll cooked and presented. I had risotto and my daughter had the biggest burger ever! Cosy table near the fire. Fabulous breakfast, perfect scrambled eggs and plentiful smoked salmon with yogurt and cereal if required. Room was ok, with everything we needed. Lovely double shower which looked fairly new. The Ship is quaint and full of history, centrally located near the harbour and next to church.

Toilet seat loose, basin cracked, bed a bit creaky but we’d still return as the hotel was amazing for the history alone and the staff were really nice. Car park is a bit of a hike so you need to be agile.

The hotel is right in the center of Fowey. There is hardly any parking in the immediate vicinity and you have to park in the large parking lot above the center, so you have a short but steep walk to the hotel. The room had everything you need and was clean. The dinner in the pub was very good and also the breakfast was tasty and sufficient. For dinner, however, you should reserve a table in the pub in any case. The staff was very friendly.

The breakfast was literally the best home cooked breakfast I have ever had! Everything was exceptional from the truly incredible sausages to the perfectly cooked mushrooms to the very very good coffee. We could not fault it or the service. The rooms are spotless and the linen top notch. The en-suite was newly fitted and the big shower perfect. And the beds also so comfortable. I would definitely recommend a stay at this wonderful place.

The room was clean and the staff were excellent, friendly and accommodating. I had to catch the first ferry before breakfast the breakfast room was laid up for me milk and fruit juice put on ice cereals and toast really went the extra mile.

The room was clean but basic for the price (Fowey is expensive) the bed creaked (I was on my own otherwise would have been a problem) also the room was next to the church clock which chimed every 15 minutes through the night and went to town on the hour!! - what can you do?!

The lady who checked me in and served me at the bar on Wednesday night and Thursday morning was very kind, professional and helpful. The view from my window of St. Finbarrus, Fowey Church was better than anything I could have asked for! The bed was lovely, my room was very nicely decorated. Only downsides were the noise from a generator? in the evening but it's not that loud, and there's a touch of damp on the ceiling, only fair to mention it. But overall I had a wonderful stay, amazing for the price really. I think I must have got lucky with a cancellation! The location right in the town centre is perfect and it's a gorgeous pub with lots of well-preserved historical features. And not too long a walk to Fowey's enchanting beach.

The breakfast was excellent every morning. The room was ok and bathroom was excellent. On arrival the young man was very helpful carried our bags up to our room and directed us to nearest car park that was only five minutes walk .

There was not much to dislike apart from the room could have done with a bit of a thorough clean as there was a tissue under bed from a previous occupier and on the last morning the breakfast was a long wait we had to ask for tea, coffee and toast, the coffee and tea arrived but we had eaten our breakfast and the toast still didn't arrive .

Great value for money. Friendly staff, good location . Good bathroom. Generous breakfast.

Really could do with a full length mirror as there was room for one in a couple of spots. Configuration of the room meant there was no wardrobe and only 3 hangers on the back of the door. Perhaps they could squeeze in a little hanging rack or some hooks somewhere? Seems churlish to complain though, as everything else was great!

Oldest pub in town with charming interea, lots of outside seating to enjoy. Very nice accommodation with fantastic shower, and great view of the Church. Charming guvnor who serves great food with a smile, his team is well trained and very knowledgeable on products. Simply the best breakfast, while looking out through a 16th century stained glass window. Highly recommended, we will return. Stewart Sell
