Very warm welcome from the reception staff as I arrived, room was easily accessible for me (I use a crutch most of the time to get around) only two little steps to walk up. The room was spacious and the bed was nice and comfortable. I did have a slight mishap with pressing the wrong button on the tv remote causing it to go to a blue screen but one of the staff was more than happy to come and show me how to fix it (I had accidentally changed the source -oops!). The breakfast had a good selection , the cooked options were excellent and the staff were friendly. I did sit for a little bit on my second evening in the Priory Bar, the staff were again very friendly and I must say you do a very nice hot chocolate. Check out was nice and easy.

The only downside is that there is no EV charging on site, the nearest chargers are situated on Victoria Road Car Park (Opposite The Splash Leisure Centre) which are about an 8 minute walk away and they aren’t fast chargers.

Our room was large with 2 chairs and a table. It was clean. The bathroom was also large and had a bath with a shower over it. The view from our window was over the hills and directly to the left The Priory. The hotel's position is perfect with a short walk to the centre of town and the other way to the theatre. The car park is large and had plenty of space. Breakfast was hot with plenty of choice. Eggs can be ordered. It's a nice extra to have an electric fan provided which provides additional air movement. The windows open but do have bits to stop them from opening too wide.

It would be nice to have a soft and medium pillow.

The view from my room was unbelievable. So lovely to wake up to and do my make up infront of! The breakfast was lovely, good selection of pastries and everything. Location was excellent, and plenty of parking. The bits in the room were great and all the soap smelt lovely.

Whilst there was plenty of parking, it's round the back, and no entry to the hotel from anywhere but reception which was a bit annoying. Plus also, no exit to the street. The shower wasn't very powerful - I would've struggled to wash my (very long, thick) hair.. would've taken ages but luckily I didn't have to.

Our room was a very good size. The bed was huge, a super king rather than the king size I expected. The bed wasn’t so comfortable. However, we got used to it after the first night. Shower was good and decor pretty good. Location 10/10, everything within walking distance and right next to the Priory. Very pretty setting. Staff lovely. Could not be more helpful. We had dinner in the restaurant on the first night and it was very good. The dessert was huge! Breakfast was very good with plenty of choices. The buffet hot breakfast was replenished regularly so no problems with items running low. The hotel was quiet and the demographic seemed to cater more for middle aged to older people when we visited and this was school holiday time. It felt quite tranquil so very relaxing. The bar area had plenty of places to sit and enjoy a drink and read or chat.

The bed wasn’t so comfortable for us , think the mattress type maybe? The toaster at breakfast takes a little getting used to and seems rather tricky to use and toast not getting stuck. Everything else was super.

The staff were excellent. The lady at reception when I booked in was extremely helpful and put me at my ease answering all my questions clearly and very courteously. A really good welcome after a long journey and at the end of a tiring day. I would also like to mention the barman, who again put me at my ease when ordering some food at the very end of the kitchen's serving time, also being able to be friendly whilst being the perfect professional. I was very impressed by that. The staff managing the breakfast were also completely on the ball, not missing the details, quietly getting on with what they had to do and yet being approachable and friendly when they were asked for help. In fact all the staff, whether they were maintenance staff whom I happened to meet, front of house receptionists or waiting staff were all exemplary in their manner, which gave an excellent overall impression. My light evening meal was excellent, and the breakfast is legendary in its comprehesiveness! I have stayed at the Abbey a number of times over many years, but this was one of my best visits.

The location was ideal. My room was comfortable. The lounge had plenty of squishy chairs .. beautiful views. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere. Christmas decor 😉 .. the food .. excellent breakfast selection. My friends and I made an excellent choice for our Crafting break .. we spent most of one full day and evening crafting in the cosy lounge .. with lots of staff and other guests expressing interest which was really lovely. Thank you. We are already planning our next visit to you.

The duvet in my room was too warm 🤭

I liked the look of the hotel. It looks brilliant from the outside and on the inside. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I was able to leave the car in their car park the next day, even though I was checking out that day. They even let me park in the staff car park. They also packed my breakfast as takeaway, because I was going running in the Malvern Hills in the morning and wouldn't make the breakfast service after the run. The room was also very well decorated and with everything you could need. I particularly liked the little touches like the bin with a recycling compartment, and curtains that double over so they give you complete darkness at night.

The only thing I didn't like, and it's a small thing, I needed to walk through the bar area to get to my room, but that's a minor gripe.

June 2024

We dined in the restaurant on the second day & the food was lovely however the restaurant staff were quite fraught During service, particularly the person coordinating & this made the atmosphere less relaxing.

On arrival we were given a ‘free round of drinks” voucher. I interpret round of drinks to mean an order of drinks for a party on one order, eg if I order for 4 people all my drinks are free. There were 2 of us & the bar tender made a big show of saying it only covered 1 drink then got the manager to come & explain it again. I disagreed & was treated with disdain. We had 2 drinks totalling about £6!! You need to change the wording to say 1 free drink or explain to your staff what a round of drinks means. Needless to say I refused to pay but shouldn’t have been in this position.

Excellent bartender and receptionist. Room service was prompt, delivered with elan and beautifully cooked and presented with nicely cooled wine. Stunning views and spacious bathroom.

Scrambled eggs slightly overdone, but this is to be expected in a breakfast buffet situation. We were awoken at 3am, along with the entire hotel by a very effective fire alarm, which turned out to be toast related. This is not a complaint, obviously, but was the only un-enjoyable part of our stay. Evacuation was well executed and we were swiftly and safely returned to our room for further satisfying sleep. The telephone in our room was not working

Hotel is in a fabulous location next to the Abbey where we were going to a wedding on 14 th Sept . 3 mins Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Lovely old hotel , and comfortable bed, large double bedroom with massive ensuite . Beautiful view of Abbey from bedroom. Breakfast was outstanding and staff very friendly and efficient.

Bathroom could need dome updating with decor but it was clean. Walk in shower would gave been nicer than shower over bath , but its an old historic lovely hotel so expect it takes time to modernise very old building.
