Everything was great. Lovely location. Room, bed, pillows all great. Shower was heaven!! Really lovely room. Breakfast good. Staff very friendly and helpful and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Xmas deco are the nicest I’ve seen in a while. Not tacky. Festive and elegant. Highly recommend staying here.

1.There was a Xmas party in room behind us. If we had known would have asked to be moved. Wanted a peaceful weekend. It didn’t ruin our stay and we would stay again which we will as daughter has moved to village. Hotel should maybe advise guests upon arrival of any booked parties. Girl on desk was lovely and apologised. 2. Breakfast good, hot and fresh just needs fresh bread (not sliced) and tastier bacon would make great (it’s the little things that make it great) and 3.staff need decent, flattering uniforms. Looked like they wore their own clothes. Not a good look for what could be a high end hotel.

Our room was enormous and bathroom very large too. The tea tray was well stocked. Bed was large and comfortable. Lovely restaurant and great food. We shared the Beef Wellington deal which was delicious and good value . The cooked breakfast was excellent. Beautiful grounds. All the staff are really friendly and very helpful. The hotel has a very relaxing atmosphere.

There was no hanging rail in the wardrobe. Just a few hooks and 1 coat hanger. There was a hole in the bath panel and rust on top of the bathroom radiator - that together with a few marks on the furniture made the room feel a little tired. In spite of these few things we did enjoy our stay and would stay again.

We have stayed here a few times now and the rooms are great, always clean and the staff are friendly and efficient. The breakfast is always great with excellent choice from a full English buffet or freshly cooked dishes like pancakes, bacon and syrup or eggs Benedict to name just a few. they are very good on allergies, particularly Gluten. This is our first choice when staying in the area.highly recommended.

This isn’t the hotel’s fault. the hotel has 4 car charge points (great!) but sometimes inconsiderate guests park their non elec cars in the spaces. and worse, some EV drivers park in the bays without using the chargers! this is annoying if we really need to charge and it is also denying the hotel revenue from the chargers. I think guests should give reg plates on check in and if they are parked in the charging spaces but not using the chargers they should be asked to move.

Lovely staff and a very relaxing hotel to stay at.

Cheap sliced bread for breakfast. There's really no excuse/need for this, as everything else that we ate was top quality. Two people having a meeting regarding staff issue's/holiday's etc right under our bedroom window which went on for over 2 hrs! I could clearly hear the name's of the staff members that they were discussing + everything else. There were other people who were trying to relax with a drink in the nice weather, that also had to listen to it all. The weather was warm, hence not wanting to close the window.

Beautiful building and landscaped gardens. Pub within the grounds was a nice touch and the staff in there were very friendly. Nice atmosphere inside. The room was to high standard decor wise, nice view from 1st floor into garden (room 105)

One slight little gripe is the kitchen extractor fan. The kitchens are situated in a central area on the ground floor with our room together with others arranged above and around it. Fan produced a low drone noise which ran till after 11 and went on at 5 in the morning. If your a light sleeper as was my wife you will notice it. Perhaps some form of noise suppression could be fitted.

The Christmas decorations' were amazing and the Christmas market was a lovely bonus when we stayed. Staff were very friendly and the setting is lovely

The room needed a little extra detailing, there was a pillow and rubbish out on our balcony, there was limited hot water and the bath panel had a small hole in to. When we flagged this to the staff they let us know our room was due an upgrade and were very accommodating.

Perfectly located for our trip. Lovely setting and facilities

We were warned about a function taking place on the second night of our trip and were told it would all wrap up by 11pm. At 1.15am there were still revellers yelling at the top of their voices outside our room!! No hotel staff appeared to be interested in quietening them down. Also the mattress in our newly renovated room wasn’t comfortable at all it obviously hadn’t been upgraded as it was saggy in the middle and your feet and head were high.

Room was comfortable and facilities good. Breakfast was fantastic

At check after waiting 15 mins a girl who is not normally on check in checked my partner in. She told him we had not paid and he had to pay again. My partner said I had paid but she said I hadn’t. The regular receptionist appeared and then said we had already paid and refunded my partner but told him it would be 5 working days. They then wanted his card for insurance in case we damaged the room, we were staying one night and in our 50s. My partner refused as he was already upset that they had double charged him. I just feel reception let this beautiful hotel down.

check in was straight forward and staff helpful. Room was comfortable and had a fridge which was a bonus, plus hairdryer, iron and ironing board too. We didn't eat at the hotel. The room suited us because it was on the ground floor which we requested and had a shower not a bath, again as requested.

Shower could have done with a shower tidy and the fridge could have been up on a shelf rather than on the floor, I mentioned this to reception on check out and they said both ideas would be looked into.

- Great breakfast - Really good restaurant for dinner - The room was nice and had everything necessary - Comfy bed

- The location is in the country-side. There were a few footpaths, which was really convenient, considering that I was travelling with my dog, allowing me for walks in the morning and the evening. For all other activities, you need a car, if you want to do something. Otherwise a great place.
