The breakfast and dinner were delicious. The staff were extremely friendly and nothing was too much for them. Lovey location. Room was ok for the price.

Our toilet did constantly run and we had to re flush a few times to get it to stop and the bed was split. The leg had fallen off and when we fixed it there was a lot of stour and a couple of sweetie wrappers. So I don’t think it had been cleaned underneath for a while, but overall it was clean.

Elegant, quiet and comfortable room, newly-fitted bathroom, warm welcome and plenty of help from staff, location close to the station, superb full Scottish breakfast and within a few minutes' walk from the town centre and ancient harbour. Late on a rainy night, the warm glow from the bar through the steamy windows was a welcome sight.

Corridors a little shabby, but it's an old hotel.

Room was clean, tidy and well presented. It's basic, but has everything you need for a short stay. Breakfast is substantial and there's a good menu with plenty of variety. It's two minutes walk from the station if you are arriving by train and two minutes walk from the main high street which is convenient. But, mostly I will remember the staff. Welcoming, friendly, smiling, helpful and just made you feel at home. Top marks for hospitality.

TV signal in my room wasn't great.

Very nicely laid out. Room was lovely and clean and the bed was very comfortable. Nice and close to a lot of things so we enjoyed a fair few walks during our stay. Staff were very kind and helpful

I think the only thing to say is we weren’t getting a very good TV signal a lot of the time but that’s nothing to do with the actual property itself.

Very very comfortable room. Mattress and bedding were superb. Wonderful staff who were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fab. Staff throughout night and day were very friendly and helpful. (Photo doesn’t give room justice but gives an idea of size of superior room)

Car park spaces are limited

A lovely place to stay! The ladies at reception and serving staff were just fabulous and SO HELPFUL. The beds were very soft and the rooms were clean and well-stocked with tea, coffee and soaps. The breakfast was delicious and we would recommend the waffles if you aren’t in the mood for a full Scottish breakfast (which also looked very good). We had the chicken and rump sizzlers for dinner here and the haggis nachos for a bit of fun and everything we ordered was delicious and fairly priced. There is a small pub here too which cant fit too many people, but the prices are very good and they have a beer garden out front if the weather is good!

Our only gripe was that the shower hose was too short and so water flow was restricted as the hose was kinked at the shower head height needed for us to be comfortable (6ft).

I was not prepared for getting luggage up stairs no lift but one of the staff did carry my bag up. Bed was a bit tired, squeaky

Close to the station, comfortable bed and great value! The staff were also really friendly and accommodating, letting me check out an hour later than advertised and store my luggage for the day. Really good value and tasty breakfast as well

Fantastic breakfast, well cooked and plenty of it. The room was nice enough and the bed was extremely comfortable.

No shelves in bathroom to put anything on so had to use window sill in bedroom. No hand towels were provided. Only one cup and one glass provided; had to ask for more and it was a twin room. Sink plug was broken and had to leave it out all the time. When turning tap on the water hit you in the face. Daughter's room was far superior and cost the same.
