The room was spacious and comfortable, with a pleasant view over the town to the Lammermuir Hills, I had breakfast each morning, which more than met my requirements and set me up for the day to explore the East Lothian coast line. Had dinner on two occasions; found the food excellent. The dinner menu offered a wide choice. The staff at all times were attentive. This is a relevantly small hotel which has worked out a system allowing guests to book a mealtime in advance. The system works to everybody's advantage.

Unless you are very demanding, I would be hard put to say what improvements could have been made. People can always find fault if they are so minded, in which case they should book into one of the 5 Star hotels further along the coast and pay correspondingly more!

The staff were the nicest and really helpful, the location was excellent and nice to explore somewhere smaller and different with easy access to the train the get to Edinburgh., The breakfast was delicious, and the bathroom was spotless and modern. Whatever the shortbread is that is in the room is also great!

The room was really dusty and not the cleanest (surfaces were clean, the carpets and corners hadn't been touched in a while) but it was acceptable. There were also a lot of spiders for some reason and they seemed to crawl into a hole in and out from the corner of the room by the window

The staff were wonderful - friendly, helpful, efficient and courteous. The breakfast was excellent - plenty of choice, generous portions and hot when served. We had a meal in the restaurant and it was lovely. Good quality and beautifully presented. The small bar area was cosy and comfortable, with a great selection of single malt whiskies and a friendly, helpful barman. Car parking was plentiful and easily accessible. An easy walk to the town and harbour area.

The room was large, clean and comfortable. Had everything we needed, but it was somewhat "tired" in comparison with some of the areas elsewhere in the hotel. There were no toiletries provided - the first time in a very long time that I've encountered this. Just as well I'd taken hand soap and shampoo! Overall, I would describe the decor as "old school" rather than stylish ( apart from the restaurant and bar which were very nicely appointed).

A very warm welcome, spotlessly clean room and bathroom. Lovely little bar where we met other residents and had some good chat and cocktails. Breakfast was lovely and cooked fresh for each guest. There appeared to be no limits to the breakfast you could order. Lovely evening meal on the Friday night. Exceptionally reasonable and a great location. When they say dog friendly they mean dog friendly and there were no restrictions for where we could eat or drink.

We liked everything.

I loved the fact that at check-in we were welcomed back rather than the basic hello, my hubby had phoned prior regarding our room and asked if any of the 20 + rooms were available which he was told unfortunately not however upon arrival we were told we were in room 23 which was fantastic as I didn't fancy going up and down the stairs due to arthritic knees, the staff are so friendly and very helpful,, the rooms are fantastic value with the extra bits such as iron and hairdryer,,I just can't praise the place enough

Leaving to go home,, Dunbar is such a lovely relaxing friendly place

Breakfast was pre-ordered the evening before. Staff attentive and friendly. Sadly we couldn’t have dinner at the hotel as restaurant was closed for the 2 nights we were there( we knew this prior to our arrival) staff helpfully gave us alternative options in Dunbar. I accidentally left a jacket in the wardrobe, staff offered to send this on, but I requested they kept this for me to collect a week later as we were driving past.

Lovely size room which great super size double bed. Great to be able to open the windows and have fresh air in the room, meant it was just the right temperature for us. Took our dog with us and very accommodating for having your dog with you, just an extra £10 which is a lot less that some hotels charge you. We have dinner and breakfast at the hotel, both meals were delicious. Really good for dietary requirements, my wife was very excited to be able to have a dairy free sticky toffee pudding. Would very much stay again.

Breakfast was just great! Staff was really nice; we arrived earlier than expected, but Kate gave us a warm welcome and it was no problem. Beds were very comfortable. The dinner at the Restaurant was excellent! The hotel is also a good place for single travellers. The hotel is very close to the train station;it‘s just 20 minutes to Edinburgh by train. Dunbar is a historical location for Scotland. More people should visit the little town .

The bed was extremely comfortable. The staff were welcoming, friendly and very attentive. It was such a treat to be waited on at breakfast instead of a buffet, and, after dinner, dessert was happily brought to our room even though they were clearly very busy in the restaurant. The location was perfect, just off the A1.

I didn't mind ordering breakfast the night before: it sensibly reduces food waste, and the food is ready for you when you arrive at your table the next morning. However I found the order form confusing! It

An exceptionally well presented restaurant where I had the same table ready for me at dinner and breakfast. Both the small cosy bar and their restaurant was dog friendly. My dog was given a sausage at breakfast without asking The evening meal was very flavoursome and the breakfast too. Staff were attentive and friendly. My room was just the right size for me, travelling on my own with my dog. The bathroom had a good-sized bath and shower facility . All very fresh an modern.
