We weren’t provided with breakfast. We were happy to cater for ourselves. The location is perfect for us as it’s very close to Haddington where we were attending concerts in the Lammermuir Festival.

A casserole dish would have been useful as we like to cook our own meals. Also we found the microwave to be difficult to use as there were no instructions. Nor were there any for the television which was much more sophisticated than we’re accustomed to. Simple instructions as to how to reach BBC 1 would have been helpful. However the owner very kindly spent some time showing us how to use it. We felt that the lodge would benefit from having lights in the kitchen area. Also the light in the fridge didn’t work.

This is a great location just outside of Haddington and a short drive of around 20 minutes to Edinburgh. Haddington is a beautiful town with great eating places such as Diggory's and the Waterside Bistro. St. Mary's Church was completed in 1462 and is a must see. There were four lodges at this quiet, pastoral location. There is ample parking available. The lodge we stayed in was comfortable for two persons and was equipped with a kitchenette and a good bathroom facility. There are also four Highland Cows in the pastures nearby. You cannot touch them or feed them but having them nearby was a nice experience. Check in was easy and accomplished remotely. We never had contact with the host in person and that was fine.

Lovely location, highland cows outside your lodge were lovely to watch in the mornings, clean , tidy, extra little touches lije snacks and drinks , shampoo etc

Wouldnt say we didnt like but they Could do with some ground solar lights on the pathway to lodges for late evening arrivals we was out all day and didnt want to leave the outside light on wasting energy but it was cery dark getting back to the lodge, could do with lines on the ground parking bays as we had a little bit of a tight squeeze on the evening due to the neighbours car being a little into our bay, and lastly the shower head just wouldnt stay up but that is an easy fix. We would definitely come back

I loved how personalised the cabin was and that the owners themselves contacted me regarding booking in rather than an automated message from an AI. Everything that you need is provided, apart from food, though there were a couple of snacks and cans of iron bru ready in the fridge on arrival for us 😀. Tea, coffee and sugar were provided, cleaning products for your dishes and even shampoo, conditioner and body wash. You would not get this level of personalisation in a generic hotel. The bed was comfy and clean and my daughter loved watching the cows in the morning.

The only thing that we could say is that we didn't know how to work out the TV properly, however we still found things to watch in a morning, and we wasn't sure if the lightbulb was going or if it was supposed to be dimly lit.

Just what we needed - large, comfortable room, great space, very quiet. The hosts were kind enough to let us check in an hour early, which was great.

Somewhat lacking in power points - we had to do some judicious juggling to make sure all appliances were charged properly overnight. The directions provided were more suited to people arriving from the north/driving south than those, like us, coming up from the south. One thing that’d make locating the property easier would be a larger, double-sided sign placed on the verge immediately opposite the driveway entrance.

Obviously the highland cows were great and the best thing... we named a couple of them and it was nice to sit and have breakfast with them. But the lodge itself was clean, has great utensils with an oven, hob, microwave, kettle, toaster which we used all of. The shower was hot and powerful, great Wi-Fi and preloaded Netflix, check-in early was perfect, check out easy... you just clean up and leave. The location was great (quiet even near a main road) with a short drive (5 mins) into Haddington or a 15 min drive to the park and ride (Newcraighall) into Edinburgh at only £7.80 return for 2 adults... an awful lot cheaper than parking in Edinburgh. It's a perfect little calm getaway with the option to go into the bustle of a city. We will return to the perfect little farmhouse lodge.

The only thing, if I was being picky, was the emergency light being very bright in the room.

We used the accommodation as a base for going to the Fringe festival and in that case it worked well. Short car ride then park and ride on train for ten minutes to city centre. We were only at the acconofation for sleeping and breakfast and the quiet location suited perfectly. Highland cows out the window too. Some lovely touches in the room to make us feel welcome. Basic set up in our cabin but spot on for what we wanted.

Our particular cabin would ha e been cramped if we were spending a lot of time there.

We were recieved with open hands. Close proximity to highland cows and were able to watch deer from our front window.. Met lots of people, in Haddington Very pleasant interaction. We were able to walk to Haddington in an hour. Passed Robert Burns family home. Great experience. Highly recommend.

Stay was too short. Loved it.

Pretty much everything. Enough space for two people, any kitchen equipment you could possibly need. No problems with hot/warm water in the shower, the room temperature was perfect. Large, comfortable bed, TV with own netflix account for every lodge. The pictures don't lie, you wake up, open the curtain and can see the highland cattles right in front of you.

Not a dislike, just a note: it could be tricky to park your car, if it's a little bigger, I had no problems with a Nissan Juke.

The house was neat and tidy. Heating was good. We enjoyed seeing the highland cows and fields from the window. The place was nice and quiet. Self-check-in. Had a wonderful stay.

The place was only 5 minutes' drive from the Haddington bus stop. But as we used public transport, there is only one bus with less frequency, and it took 40 minutes to reach the destination and we did not find cab from the Haddington bus stop. We tried several cab companies, but it wasn't available (Thursday around 5pm).
