We stayed at the bunkers building - newly fitted accommodation. Very clean and modern. We liked the sports bar in the building. Breakfast in main restaurant was also good.

Felt that the hotel has big ambitions but its attention to details does not yet match for the ambition - for example bathrooms are newly fitted but the shower cubicle door opening outwards hasn’t allowed for sufficient vertical space for the bath matt to be placed outside; Sports bar menus is very geared towards male golfers perhaps with burgers and pizzas only, not even one salad choice on the menu was a surprise.

The room we stayed in was really nice, apart from the fact it had an issue with wasps somehow accessing the room ie 6 wasps! The service in the elements restaurant was excellent thanks to our waiter Louis.

Unfortunately there was a wedding taking place on the Thursday when we arrived. Our room was situated directly above the room where the wedding breakfast was being held and the noise from the live band playing was deafening. The receptionist who we reported this to was less than helpful. After pushing for information about how long this noise would last we were told 45 minutes as the wedding group were moving to another room. It would have been more helpful had we been warned about the band playing beforehand and told not to worry as it would only be for a limited time which we would have accepted. More customer service training required here!

This hotel is surrounded by beautiful parkland, the old Manor House has been sensitively extended and renovated. The room had views over the grounds was modern, clean and bright. There was a large bed which was comfortable. The bathroom, with walk-in shower, had everything we needed including big fluffy towels, dressing gowns, slippers, and an array of products, it was really nicely finished. The restaurant food was very good, food was also available in the bars. Overall the decor and maintenance throughout the hotel was very good. There was some construction work underway outside to upgrade the spa and pool area, it didn’t negatively impact our stay. We will return.

Beautiful country hotel set in a rural situation with it's own grounds, lake and golf course. We were in the new Bunker rooms which are in a relatively new building over the Bunker Bar / Clubhouse for the golf course. Superb huge room with lovely built in shower, plenty of room in the bathroom and not at all crampt. Dining room staff were excellent, really chatty, nothing was a problem for them and they couldn't do enough for you. Brilliant breakfast. Ideal base for exploring North Yorkshire. Within easy distance of Grassington, Skipton, Settle, Thirsk, Hemsley and York. Beautiful boutique style décor in the main part of the hotel, fantastic bar with outside area. Don't eat in the hotel, walk out the back road to the Aldwark Inn or take the road into Alne and eat at the Bluebell Country Inn. the food is superb in both and quality.

Dinner on the first night in the main dining room. Very expensive for what we had and unfortunately I had to send my chicken back as it was gelatinous, pink in bits and I was unable to cut it. It was barely cooked. Our server, a young gentleman (unfortunately I didn't get his name) was an absolute star! Even when the chef sent a snarky message back to me through him. The food is trying to be high end but unfortunately isn't quite there. I've eaten in a fair few restaurants around the world so have a bit of experience and sadly, that night the food wasn't living up to the menu description.

Building and grounds fabulous. Staff on reception and Bunker restaurant very good indeed. Rooms clean and beds very comfortable indeed.

Breakfast, a disappointing time . Spoiled what could and should have been a great one night stay . Tide mark in cup, asked for clean cup .Staff member went in back room but brought the same cup back unless they all have tide marks in them. While getting hot buffet informed another member of staff that there were no scrambled or fried eggs available, other members of public said the same . 25 mins later the scrambled eggs finally got refilled. These little things make all the difference to our stay . It took the shine off a lovely stay

The golf course, and especially Jamie, the manager there, was fantastic! The breakfast was very good. The hotel was in a beautiful building and the breakfast room was stunning. The room was large and had a great shower.

The room was very dark, with all black decor annd insufficient lighting to even read a book after dark. The room was large but did not have a mini bar or safe! The bathroom sink area was too small for toiletries for 1 person, much less 2. Really this was a below average room for a well above average price.

The hotel is simply beautiful. My room (401) ticked all my boxes. Spotless, beautifully furnished , great range of toiletries and refreshments. Staff were super helpful. Reception staff both on arrival & departure were so warm and welcoming. Evening staff in Elemis were so attentive. The Irish gentleman (with the hair band) offered fantastic hospitality and recommendations. He delivered way over the extra mile. Finally’Debbie’ at breakfast. She put a smile on my face as she was so down to earth (even if the flat white she made my business partner was below par). Thank you for making a business trip feel more like a pleasure break.

Would have liked a mini bar. That opinion of a cold drink both soft and alcohol.

We liked everything about our 4 night stay. Friendly and helpful staff, nice restaurant and food. Our room was very spacious and had a balcony with views over the golf course. Bathroom was large with a bath and separate shower. Location 25 minutes to York and a little longer to Leeds. Quite central in Yorkshire. Disappointingly I fell ill on the 2nd night and had to call an ambulance. A big shout out to Emma, the night porter who was so helpful and calming and waited with us from the time of calling to when the ambulance arrived. Fantastic service, thanks.

We choose this hotel for a short break after our wedding based on its location between York and Harrogate. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds and has a luxurious decor throughout. Our room was spacious with a high spec en-suite bathroom. Breakfast was delicious and all members of staff were friendly. We used the spa facilities which were good but I believe are to be updated in the near future. We enjoyed a meal in the Elements restaurant on one of the evenings.

Nothing! I would’ve liked to have had a treatment at the spa but it was fully booked unfortunately - I’ll just need to plan ahead next time!!

The room was lovely and felt really relaxed, comfy bed and room facilities were great. The hotel staff were excellent, walking us through the hotel to show where the bar and restaurant and spa were located. It was my husbands birthday and they'd left a card and chocolates in the room as well as a dessert after dinner that came to the table with Happy Birthday on.

Came down for breakfast at 9am, asked for coffee and it took 25 mins and 2 reminders for it to come. It also took 45 mins to get our order for breakfast taken. A couple behind us walked out. It does state on the menu food could take up to 20 mins in busy periods after ordering but it just took so long to get to the point of ordering i was over my food by this point. Beautiful setting for breakfast though and overall i wouldnt let this put me off.
