A great location on the outskirts of town, easily accessible from Stansted Airport, the M11 and London and also when you want to visit anywhere in Harlow, Hartford, Sawbridgeworth etc. Spread over two floors, you get a great night's sleep, excellent food, a bar and a lounge area at this "historic" location which are under new management, who wants to make a difference - both when it comes to developing this resort and to its guests!

The hotel in in a process of bringing it further up the rating list and improve not only the guest experience, but also the value for money - and as mentioned, this is a process and they are not quite there yet. In spite of this, I would still recommend it both for business and leisure travel!

The staff were amazing - friendly and helpful- nothing was too much trouble. Cleaners on request left extra milk and my preferred coffee option throughout my stay. Restaurant staff were professional and helpful. Reception staff had to put up with me leaving my key card in my room 3 times - but it was never an issue- helpful and friendly throughout my stay. Plenty of food and choice. I will definitely stay again when in the UK- it will feel like visiting friends.

I have nothing negative to say.

The fact I asked if I could have extra pillows as 1 each wasn’t enough I have a bad kneck and forgot my own personal pillow , within minutes 2 were brought to our room :) the Buffett breakfast had plenty of choice and was lovely

From the outside doesn’t look like there is any life inside and looks drab & univiting the outside needs to look brighter , in fact we pulled up and on first view I said I’m Not staying here , it looks like a dive but in the end was tired we have stayed at accor hotels before and all have been nice , I had an early hospital appointment in the morning and this was the closest hotel so booked - once booked online in the car while outside , looks can be deceiving entered the hotel and it is lovely , clean and actually lots of people staying , the room was clean and we had a very nice afternoon/evening at the hotel , the food we ordered was lovely starters and mains and all food was so nice

A very friendly hotel. My second stay within a month and very enjoyable. The breakfast choices are great! This time I went for the salami, ham, pastrami, cheese, salad and chopped apple instead of bacon, eggs etc. And the starters at dinner were superb. I had two starters instead of a main again on my first night. The spring rolls, calamari and the sweet chilli chicken are fab. The sea bass for a main is yummy. People moan about the hotel being dated but it is a comfortable bed, a warm room, a roof over my head, lovely staff, lovely food, conveniently placed and affordable. And they kept my favourite hot water bottle I had left a month before! Thrilled to be reunited with it. Was handed to me as I checked in. How good is that?

Nothing to complain about at all. Just annoyed that smokers ignore the smoking area (I am a smoker myself) and drop their cigarettes at the entrance and in the poor flower beds. Maybe create an area where smokers can't do that.

What a lovely hotel! Staff were amazing, food was fab, such a convenient location. They accomodated me with my request for a room near the entrance. I loved the breakfast too - staff very attentive. I know people moan about dated carpets etc... but holy moly - for the price it was exceptional. I travel a lot for work and I was well pleased.

To be honest? Do something with smokers. I am one, and the hotel has a smoking area which everyone seems to ignore. They all hung around the entrance and dropped fag ends and rubbish in the lovely planters with living plants, which really annoys me. Show some respect! Maybe highlight the smoking area and put up signs at entrance. Extra bins or something or protect the lovely plants at the entrance. My only gripe.

Breakfast had lots of variety, nice and hot too. Receptionist was friendly, helpful and informative when I asked for extra tea bags and wifi details.

My bag was on the chair and my full cup of tea was on the table, I left the table to get some toast and when I got back to my table my tea had been taken away. I spoke to the lad that was walking around, he apologised and I went and got another one and more toast as the other had gone cold. My bedroom had a dirty mark on the wall and the bathroom floor had a dirt mark too

It was very close to my travel needs and I book for 2 adults for the same price...... so I could have a friend stay with me for no extra cost. The staff were very nice and helpful when needed more tes and sugar....very prompt. Love this little hotel. This is my second stay and must admit its getting better now! Thank you 😊

There was a slight draft coming from the big windows but this was met by controllable new heating.....very nice, fresh and warm. My room was away from the main road so very nice and quiet. The bath wasn't in great condition but the water was very fast and easy to temp control. Thanks again

Check in was easy, was not aware of the additional £6 for parking. Unable to confirm or acknowledge my request for early check in until arrival, despite emailing and calling in advance. Breakfast very straight forward, self service. Just a shame neighbours were banging wardrobe door repeatedly in the morning this was an unnecessary disturbance. I was able to close my door quietly.

Additional cost of parking this should be included in the booking. Noisy neighbours, inconsiderate with slamming doors in the morning

There is a restaurant and bar for a relaxing stay. Although we had our own food and wine and got some wine glasses from the bar. The hotel was very cosy and welcoming. The location was good if you are flying from Stanstead Airport. The room was bright and airy and the facilities were very good. Comfortable bed and shower was very good or if you like to bath. The room was hot and can adjust the heating yourself to your preference. Overall, it was a very nice stay.

Would-be like a garden view but got a road view which is the road of the hotel. So you don't get traffic noise which is good.

Hosted a function here on Saturday Hotel has benefited greatly to new soft furnishings refurbishment. Damaged marks on headboard. Can easily be covered with a wood look vinyl
