Our room was spacious, clean and perfect for our needs, and the staff were delightful and helpful. The location is idylic. The bar/restaurant was warm and atmospheric.

On the Sunday during the Goodwood Revival weekend, all residents needed to get off promptly to the Revival and breakfast was advertised as open at 8am. All residents arrived in the restaurant by 8am, however, the buffet was not ready until 8.20am which then delayed everyone, and of course, insufficient food to serve everyone all at once. At this important weekend it would make sense for management to ensure the breakfast is ready at exactly or just before restaurant opening time and there is sufficient for all guests who all arrived on time at 8am.

A good selection of quality breakfast/dinner options. We stayed in Flint Cottage which was wonderful. A well equipped lounge area, with a small kitchenette, with a sink, fridge and coffee/tea provisions and iced water in the fridge. Upstairs, a very comfortable bedroom which was very pleasant.

There is a store/rubbish area at the side of the pub, we had to walk past this to get to our accommodation. This area was not in keeping and was unpleasant to walk past. FYI The cottage is not disability friendly, a steepish staircase and the bath was tricky to get into, with no separate shower

Very nicely furnished bedroom and large well finished bathroom. Comfy bed. High quality tea and coffee choices in the room. Breakfast on the first day - 'Eggs Royale' with smoked salmon and hollandaise sauce - was delicious. On the second morning the kitchen's extractor fan was being repaired so the choices were limited. We still had most of a full English, yet they offered to take breakfast cost off our bill. A fine gesture that wasn't necessary. The Dinner menu isn't fine dining but is certainly a cut above your average pub fayre. For example, their nicoise salad is made with hot smoked trout and a very good dressing. As a Butcombe Inn the beer in the pub was a favourite of mine and well kept. Staff were all welcoming friendly and attentive.

Wine seemed a little expensive but the ones we had were good. The only criticism I'd have is the wi-fi and TV in the room. It wasn't possible to tune in to terrestrial channels to watch the news for example. Yet you can access Netflix and Prime TV. Wi-fi didn't work at all in the room we were in, but it was fine in the pub.

Lovely atmosphere hub pub in East Lavant, a picture perfect location. Comfortable dog friendly accommodation (bed, bowl and towel included for our Basset Hound) with a really comfortable bed (ViSpring), and a well appointed en-suite bathroom. Welcoming staff and good food.

There are a few quirks, not least the room TV which we eventually learned used Amazon Fire because the satellite dish is apparently susceptible to being blown over! It would have been helpful to have been told this on arrival (or in room information) Also due to the unexpectedly good weather, staffing levels in the kitchen couldn’t cope with the demand. We therefore had a wait for food that was close on exceeding the time it would have taken me to cook a full roast dinner! We didn’t really care, but a little more information earlier would have been welcome. That said will we return? Certainly - not least that this is lovely oasis of calm within a short drive of everything that West Sussex has to offer.

Loved the quaint little pub and the beautiful village it is situated in. The room was fabulous and exceeded our expectations. The bed was a king and so comfy I didn't want to get up. Nice little touches included a hot water bottle, fridge, umbrella, emergency pack, lovely toiletries, and iron and ironing board. The place was so quiet and had some lovely outdoor areas to relax in.

The person who booked us in and served us breakfast could have been a bit more welcoming. In hospitality to succeed you have to make the guests feel very welcome and if this had been the case I would have given it a 10.

Pretty much everything! Good parking facilities over the road and a warm and welcoming reception. The room was small, but had everything we needed and more. It even included an iron and ironing board, an electric fan, a hot water bottle, a cafetière, a fridge with fresh milk, and a range of toiletries. Comfy, soft bed. Breakfast was absolutely splendid - and there was a wide choice.

The room was very hot, although we could open the window and use the fan. A seat for the dressing table would have been welcome, although there was perhaps not enough space. But I’m nitpicking here; overall, it was excellent.

The Royal Oak Inn was a beautiful place, very welcoming and friendly with much 'old world' charm to it. Our room was a small cottage with a very comfortable sofa downstairs and a very comfortable bed upstairs. The bathroom was nice and modern, very clean and tidy with lovely soaps and creams. The menu was great and the food excellent, we had dinner in the evening and breakfast. Would definitely want to stay there again if we were in the area. The staff were great too!

Everything was to our liking, so nothing to write here!

Great facilities in the bedrooms (in an annex round the back) and bathrooms. Clean, cozy and apparently recently refurbished or done out? Cooked breakfast was excellent. Staff very friendly.

Location was a bit hard to find down a very narrow lane with cars parked along it and although good parking was available in a dedicated car park it took a couple of goes to find it. No fruit or cereal options at breakfast. Not a problem for us but not everyone wants a cooked breakfast. Only offering sourdough toast is a bit chichi style over substance but maybe that's a matter of taste.

The room was fabulous, big, cosy, comfy bed, all the little details are very welcome. French Press coffee maker, ground coffee, tea, biscuits, fresh milk, bottled water, a flask, a gan, iron, ironing board, lavender pillow spray... Large bathroom with lovely scented toiletries. We'll lit with big mirrors. The breakfast choice was great and breakfast was very good. Hot fresh coffee. We would definitely recommend and will definitely stay again. The staff are lovely too. We were well looked after.

Window didn't open .

Spacious room, clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Cafetiere and filter coffee in the room a definite bonus. Pleasant laid back vibe. Nice to be able to have dinner at the pub rather than drive elsewhere and the meal was very good. Good location.

Our room was at the front of the pub, above the restaurant and with outside tables directly below our window. As it was a nice day noise carried up from customers out the front. Not a major problem but if we were to visit again I would try and book one of the 'cottages' at the back looking out over the fields, that would have felt a bit more like getting away from it all.
