The room was lovely - other than the fact that the television did not work well. Despite Kelly's best efforts - it was unwatchable as it was pixilating, freezing, and buffering. Dinner was delicious. Breakfast was as expected. But - the staff were wonderful! All of them. Particularly Kate. Nothing was too much trouble. She was attentive, efficient and very friendly. You have a real star there!!
The television didn't work. The light sensor on the stairs was disturbing- we removed the bulb overnight, as every time my dog moved, it went on ....! (we put the bulb back before we left!) There is a dog in the neighbouring house/garden who was let out frequently, and barked incessantly. Maybe, you could have a chat with the owners, as it is extremely difficult to sleep, when the dog is barking - and it's not a small dog - so has a very loud voice ...1

Lovely cozy pub, good selection of beers, wine and gin. Nice to be able to take our dog into the bar. The staff/bar staff were very friendly and helpfull. The locals pointed us in the right direction for a not too much of a muddy walk given the dreadful weather we have been having.
Parking at the pub was limited so we had to park in the street. Hopefully the neighbours don’t object!, We enjoyed a lovely evening meal with wine and thought it very reasonable. We felt the breakfast was dissapointing. Although we did’nt expect a cooked breakfast (it said continental) but croissants and pan au chocolate in plastic bags left a lot to be desired!,

Room very comfortable - although be prepared for floors sloping in different directions! - It's a very old property. The decor was very well done with a lot of good through and quality materials. The food cooked in the restaurant was excellent!
There wasn't really anyone on duty during breakfast and a lot of the breakfast goods were in plastic packaging. Fresh crusty bread to cut and toast and smartly presented pats of butter in ramekins on the table and similar with marmalade would have made it feel so much more luxurious.

country Pub well attended by locals good food wine and beer dog friendly rooms are above the pub and were noisy until closing time and then all was quiet. food was good and dogs could be in certain parts of the restaurant/bar excellent place to walk the dogs and places where they could run off the lead
for me nothing to not like however this is a working country pub with log burning stoves and a homely atmosphere which may not appeal to people wanting luxury. parking is free but not a lot of it so need to park on the narrow street when busy. The outside is being altered to make way for a garden area which will be great in the summer, as a passing hopefully helpful comment and not relevant to likes or dislikes the flat roof looks like it needs attention above the bar before it costs them real money to fix and needs some work on the outside woodwork and paint work

Proper country Inn, in very rural setting. Neat and comprehensive outside / garden facilities, some covered areas and plenty of picnic benches and tables, Attentive and pleasant staff. Quiet overnight, Comfy bed. Television sport sound was muted, (thank goodness),
Self service breakfast (continental only) pre packaged items were a bit fiddly to open for arthritic fingers. The rump steak meat cut was quite tough, even for rump. Tasty though, despite the chewing. Neither gripes are serious.

Room was very nice, family room with two separate bedrooms. Obviously, being a very old building floors were uneven and doorway heights low, but that just adds to the character. Pub was really busy, with friendly locals (there was world cup rugby on, so a lot of cheering!) Food was excellent and reasonably priced; a good selection of ales too.
Breakfast was a bit of a let down. Note that we took the standard continental breakfast, there were extra paid-for cooked breakfast options, but we did not see these. Croissants were not of particularly good quality and most other pastries pre-packed, individual things of the sort you get in airport lounges; we didn't try these as from past experience they never taste very good. No facilities to warm pastries - toaster didn't have an attachment to do it, and nothing else there. Coffee machine wasn't working properly and we couldn't find anyone first thing to sort it. Ended up doing a Hobbit and having second breakfast on way home...

The pub seems to be situated in the middle of nowhere and surrounded by fields, I found it quite picturesque. we had a quick check in and shown to our room. As it's an old building the rooms are a bit quirky as in, they are on a slant, but I found it ok. The staff and locals were friendly and helpful.
We would have liked a cooked breakfast, we knew there wasn't one when we booked so can't complain. The buffet breakfast was well stock with plenty of choice.

Lovely pub was quiet, staff were lovely and friendly
The bathroom needs a good clean as black mould, very off putting, overall cleanliness could be improved Was not impressed that we had to pay extra for the cooked breakfast option that information was not shared at the time of booking, states breakfast included. Would not have stayed here if we had known as it made the stay more expensive than others when comparing.

The room was clean and covered all our needs. The bed very comfortable. The staff were great, very accommodating and attentive. We has dinner at the pub, and we were very pleased with the quality of the food, with options for vegeterians.
We were only let down by the breakfast. The breakfast room is unattended in the morning, you help yourself to a selection of very average cereal, croissants, bread to make toast and concentratejuice. No milk alternatives on offer either and no hot breakfast.

Nicely decorated, cosy rooms, very friendly staff. The food in the evenings is of nice quality and is a varied menu . Good value for money.
The breakfast service is unusual. It’s located in a small locked room to the side of the pub and entirely self service. Cello wrapped pastries, and a coffee machine. Confused guests wandering around trying to find sugar and other things to complete their meal. It’s very unusual to stay in a property which offers no cooked or hosted breakfast options.
