Staff were really polite and friendly. The room was nicely decorated with two period windows - we had the cosy room and whilst it felt lovely and cosy on a cold, winter's night, it was by no means small. Nice walk in shower too. The spa facilities were excellent and loved the indoor/outdoor pool. We didn't eat at Ockenden manor but there were some good eating choices just a short walk away from the hotel.

When we arrived the spa unfortunately was closed due to unforeseen circumstances however we have been given day passes to return another time and thankfully not living too far away, this was sufficient for us.

Unfortunately the spa was closed due to an unfortunate incident. We had booked purposely for going to spa. No compensation or making up for the fact i.e reduction in bill, or complimentary food or a voucher for another day etc. We had to ask whether we could have any compensation and it wasnt forthcoming only the general manager would be in touch, very poor.

Another wonderful stay at Ockenden Manor Hotel. Our room (Edward) was glorious. Very comfortable with great views of the countryside (South Downs) in the distant. I have been quite ill and had a lot of dietary requirements, which the hotel's restaurant was more than happy to attend to.

Two minor comments. Even though bedroom was wonderful, it could have done with a little more light when all lights switched on. The second comment is that for the spa some people tend to hog the jacuzzis. On the Friday night, there was a party of 6 women who camped in the outside jacuzzi for 90 minutes, which no-one else got a look in. Realise this is not the fault of the hotel itself but maybe consider a polite notice for people to sit in a jacuzzi for say 30 mins max when busy.

Beautiful setting, room and bed were comfortable. Really lovely getaway.

Spa was nice but very busy because it is more like a health club - so people had reserved the sun loungers for the whole day! So that was a little frustrating - perhaps an area reserved for hotel guests at weekends would be a nice gesture Our TV didn't work - we didn't use it, and didn't ask for it to be fixed to be fair, but probably would expect little things like that to be checked before guests arrive. This hasn't affected how highly I would score the property, just feedback for next time!

I had quite a bad fall in the spa because the flip flops given to us came unfastened at the top button causing me to fall heavily on the stairs. I banged my head badly and came down on my right elbow causing a big bruise. My feeling is that flip flops are not safe in this space environment and have emailed them suggestions

We very much enjoyed our stay. The hotel is cozy and charming, and our room was absolutely delightful and very quiet. We didn't dine in, but the breakfast was very good with lots of options. The spa is great and the fact that we could use it until 2pm on the day of our check out was ideal. Can definitely recommend this place

Everything was great

Lovely service from the moment we entered the hotel. No stuffiness just cheerful, helpful staff. Beautiful decor. They apologised that there may be a little noise from a party but that it wd finish at 8.30. Liked the fact they anticipated that might be our worry.

In the spa there was a constant beeping noise from machinery. Luckily the weather was gorgeous so we cd be outside and avoid the noise.

Very pleasant hotel, with spacious rooms, excellent restaurant and friendly /efficient staff. The hotel has been recently refurbished and has a high standard for room design and comfort. The restaurant experience was mostly good. The food, in particular, was very well cooked and presented.

Service in the restaurant was a bit hit ’n miss . We had to remind the waiting staff that we had ordered our wine, before it finally reached our table.The wait between courses was rather long, but it was more than compensated by the quality of everything.

Very comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. Extremely good service. All staff without exception were helpful and friendly.

Everything was good. Only constructive criticism is: Presentation of breakfast order of scrambled egg could have been enhanced by simply adding a little garnish together with side order of toast as standard perhaps?

Everything, the rooms even the "basic " ones were exceptionally well equipped, large and comfortable , the food was fabulous, the staff wonderful, it was an incredible experience, they cater for special diets, it was the ideal place to relax The spa is very good and it is an exeptional hotel well run and caters for all your needs be aware there are lots of stairs so if you have mobility issues ask for a ground flooor roon.

The wifi connection wasnt great and my TV kept shuttiong out.
