All the staff were excellent. Hard working, helpful, attentive. Nothing was too much trouble from the moment we arrived till the moment we departed! Thanks very much. Xx
Unfortunately the state of our room and the building was disappointing. Very small room(very basic furniture) and bath/shower room. Poor pressure from shower, hardly any space to put toiletry bags. Creaky floor boards in the room and out.Ill fitting window, didn't allow us to block out traffic noise!! I placed clothes into a bedside draw only to remove them covered in dust!! The whole room & bathroom need upgrading! Would be better off getting rid of bath and putting in a new shower, loo & wash hand basin.

Lovely little pub in a pretty village. We had booked here as were attending a family wedding a few miles outside of Brighton and wanted somewhere with an easy commute without being right in Brighton. This location was perfect for us as it was a short walk to the train station to get the train directly into Brighton whilst also being a 15min drive for us to the wedding location. The hot breakfast in the mornings was delicious and there was a selection of cold items too (cereal, yoghurt, fruit). Staff were friendly and helpful. Room/bed was comfortable.
Unfortunately for us we are not used to living on a busy road (didn't realise a wee village road could be so busy throughout the night) and neither are we used to the high temperatures (high 20s, low 30s). The room we had was extremely warm and even with leaving the window open full all day it didn't help cool it down. Leaving the window open all night meant you were continously woken with the noise of the traffic as our window opened onto the main road but closing it meant you couldn't sleep as too warm. We also found the bathroom very compact and found it may have been better for just a shower unit rather than trying to fit a bath in. The shower was fitted along the side of the bath too which made it awkward for showering as you were limited to space.

The room was a good size with tea and coffee, TV and hair dryer available. The beds were comfy and the shower was very good with plenty of hot water. Parking was available for free on site, as this is a pub the car park can get busy but we always managed to find somewhere to park. The breakfast was plentiful with a good choice of cooked food from the menu or cereals and yoghurts from the self service table along with fruit juices. The free WiFi in the pub was really good and very fast.
Our room was at the far end of the corridor away from the pub and the WiFi didn't quite reach that far, given that the mobile phone network is quite poor we were in a communications black hole. I had to relocate to the lobby or sit in the pub to use the WiFi. It could do with a WiFi range extender installing so the all the rooms have a good signal. We also struggled to charge our electronic devices in the room as there were only two plug sockets and they were also used for the TV and kettle. Installing a socket with USB charging ports built in would overcome this.

Everything was lovely, clean and comfy with included breakfast in the price. The free Wifi was strong and worked without issue which often is a rarity in hotels. The staff members were also lovely especially the lovely lady I met at breakfast. I was checking out and unable to stay for breakfast as I had to get to work. However, she offered to have the chef make be a bacon sandwich and gave me a hot drink to take away so I did not miss out. It was very much appreciated. If i am ever in the area again I will definitely be staying here in the future.

The location was not the best because there was no taxi available when we got out of the station. We ended up walking when we arrived. We had to go through a park which was not particularly nice because it was dark. However, the bedroom was a little small but ok. The breakfast was nice and the hotel was helpful in organising a taxi for us so we could get to where we were travelling too.
Getting a taxi to the hotel and not having to walk. We couldn't lock the door in the morning to go down to breakfast so we just had to leave it.

Friendly and helpful staff. Easy to park. Good dinner and breakfast. Great location for South of England showground. We stayed in a bijou, but comfy twin room. Staff provided decaffeinated tea bags and a jug of milk for us to have in our room.
Breakfast wasn’t until 8.30am on a Sunday and is clearly popular with the locals too. I normally wouldn’t mind a later breakfast, but we waited longer than I would have hoped for to be given our breakfast, which meant we were late for our workshop at the Carry on Crafting festival.

Staff were very welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was nice and I highly recommend the sausages, best I've ever eaten. The room was clean and spacious. I had everything I needed and it was a relaxing stay. I would definitely stay there again.
I would move the mirror down so you can see in it when you sit at the desk and mount the tv on the wall above it.

Hospitality and food. Had evening meal when we arrived - good value, and breakfast - good quality ingredients. Bed was comfortable with nice linen and large fluffy towels. Don't think toiletries are necessary unless requested as not good for environment in small bottles.
shower a little under pressure and fluctuations in temp. room felt chilly on the first night then very hot on the second. I guess it was us not used to controlling it

The staff were absolutely amazing - we can't thank you enough for looking after us in our fragile, hungover states!! Breakfast was lovely, they kept the coffee coming, and we're excellent when 16 of us rocked up for Sunday lunch. Will definitely book again if I stay in the area again!
The water pressure in the showers wasn't great, but everything was beautifully clean, so I didn't mind staying in the shower a bit longer! This is completely outside The Wheatsheaf's control, but do be careful if you're using public transport. I stayed from Friday to Sunday, and didn't see a single bus from the nearest station (Hayward's Heath) into the village. Thankfully, it was a beautiful weekend weather-wise so we walked everywhere!

The location is spot on for us as visiting relatives a little distance away. The staff are friendly and helpful the room whilst having a tight bathroom was tidy and comfortable. We had an evening meal from the restaurant which was very good. The breakfast menu was more than adequate for our needs and there was plenty of room in the car park.
The only drawback is the traffic noise from outside. The main road is fairly busy and as the weather was very warm we had to have the window open which allowed road noise in at all hours. The bathroom is a little bit on the small side but not a big letdown as the bedroom space is a good size with a comfortable bed.
